I recently read quote that said, “a major part of manifesting is believing you’re worthy of what you’re asking for.” This resonated with me not only because I found it to be true, but because not many people talk about the mental gymnastics that are required to chase your dreams and build the life you deserve. Forget outside influence and the negativity of others who may cast doubt. Usually, it’s the inner voice that we all have at times that can be our own worst critic and deterrent in moving forward, past the fear and discomfort, that ultimately holds us back. It’s very easy to fall into this cycle of thinking especially when you see firsthand the amount of effort that goes into your passions, and it seems like you’re barely moving the needle. I personally struggle with this often, but I refuse to believe that all of this was fror nothing and choose to trust the timing of my journey no matter how frustrating it can be. We got this!

On a lighter note, I received this suit during the holidays and unfortunately did not have an opportunity to style it. Despite taking a break from fashion week this season, I still wanted to get out into the city streets and shoot some looks that I would’ve potentially worn had I attended. To no surprise, I was instantly drawn to the rich crushed velvet texture of this set. Everything about it looked so lush, and the added comfort and ease was simply a bonus! A close friend of mine recently said, “co-ords are the best fashion hack” and I couldn’t have agreed more! With both pieces, 85% of the ensemble was nearly complete so all that was left to do was add my personal flare and make it ASM approved! I knew that black would be my contrasting color based on the shadows that flowed throughout the pattern of the textile. I then chose to layer with a sheer ribbed turtleneck for a bit of juxtaposition against the heavier fabric, and ground the outfit with a sleek heeled bootie. For accessories, my go-to classic cat-eye sunnies were the obvious choice as they somewhat mirrored the geometric shape of my earrings. Lastly, I decided to stick with the angular accents by incorporating a croc-embossed bag that also featured silver hardware, effortlessly complimenting the rest of my jewelry. I loved the strength and power that this look emanated and I couldn’t be happier with the images that were captured. Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

With only a few days left until we ring in the new year, I thought I’d round up a few festive ensembles perfect for any NYE celebratory occasion! Another year has gone by and it truly has been a whirlwind! With all of ups and downs 2017 brought, I can honestly say the amount of growth I’ve experienced in my personal and professional life has left me with a sense of accomplishment I can only help but feel optimistic about. Though no year is ever perfect, staying humble, focused, consistent, and positive are all I can do to ensure the good outweighs the bad. Surprisingly, I may actually be staying in this NYE however that doesn’t mean I don’t have several outfits planned for any last minute events. While I’m usually all about the glitz during this holiday, this year I decided to take a slightly more understated approach and traded my sequins for velvet. This cranberry colored jumpsuit was absolutely perfect for the vibe I was feeling for this New Year’s Eve: comfortable, sexy, yet classy. This piece is also very practical as I was definitely not too keen on the idea of facing these frigid New York temperatures with bare legs. Jumpsuits will always remain a closet staple for me because of how low maintenance they are. They also take the stress out of finding multiple items to coordinate together and allow the focus to remain on statement accessories. Because I still wanted to include a bit of festive sparkle to the look, I chose a pair of rose gold heeled sandals with diamante accents to add an element of glam. To match my footwear, I also incorporated some dainty rose gold studs which I thought added a nice elegant detail. Lastly, to finish off the look, no NYE outfit would be complete in my opinion without a faux fur! I’ve had this particular one for a few years now and it still brings that “sophisticated drama” that I love, whenever I wear it. I really can’t believe that this will be my last post of 2017 and what an amazing year of outfits it’s been! Whether you’ve been following my blog from the beginning or just recently, your support is greatly appreciated and I vow to continue to provide style inspiration and helpful tips well into the new year and if all goes as planned, many more to come! Cheers to 2018 and year 3 of ASM! Stay safe tonight, and see you next year! <3

I have seen an abundance of statement footwear all over the runway as well as on concrete streets everywhere. As the weather continues to drop it becomes harder to showcase your style through all of the layers, but funky shoes provides the outlet to do just that. Here are a few of the pieces that have caught my eye recently. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks!

Velvet, or velveteen, is a huge reoccurring trend that takes the fashion world by storm annually during the fall and winter months. I, personally, am a huge fan of the fabric and love the contrast it brings to different ensembles when paired with leather or denim. Please see below for a few of the velvet items that have caught my eye lately, and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks!

If I were to create a look that embodied all of my favorite fall fashion trends, this would probably be it! I’ve been obsessed with navy for quite  a while now, and I don’t see my love for the shade fading any time soon. Especially for this time of year, ensembles that incorporate rich colors and tones always seem to stand out the most. Another hue that is constantly reoccurring in the colder months is burgundy. There’s something about the deep wine toned red that always seems to take over my closet in some form or another and this year, it came in the style of velvet boots! Now, velvet is a HUGE trend right now to say the least and being a lover of texture, I just couldn’t pass up on these shoes. I love darker colors because in some ways they can act as neutrals in that they can be paired with almost anything, and as soon as I purchased this off the shoulder top, I knew they would be perfect together! The dual textures in the shirt, mixed with the raw hem of my culotte jeans, and suede belt created an interesting 70’s style vibe that I truly hadn’t intended but absolutely loved! And as if I didn’t already have my fill of navy, I added my personalized, pebble grained leather, “Madison” crossbody bag that I also adore! All in all, this look was full of amazing textures, fall colors, and trends galore. So what’s not to love?! Until next time! 🙂
