I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t had the opportunity to showcase my outfits over the past year due to the pandemic, but recently, I feel like I’ve been buying into the trends more than ever before! That being said, I do genuinely like what is being produced from various retailers at the moment and am so excited for the outfits I have planned in 2021. It seems like for the Spring and Summer months, the decades we tend to see the most style references come out of are the 90’s and 70’s; most likely due to the florals, light fabrics, denim, and flirty silhouettes. At this point, if I had to pick one garment that I’ve seen consistently growing in popularity from the runway to the high street for the upcoming seasons, it would have to be wrap tops. Whether as a blazer, knit, button-up, bralette, or t-shirt, the options seem to be endless and also highly flattering! The simple addition of leaving extra material to hug the body at the smallest part of the waist, is a subtle accent that elevates and instantly adds interest to any ensemble. For me, this particular top checked all of the boxes; it was the color of the season, linen, and the fit was incredible! At the beginning of the year, I was on a mission to find a pair of two-toned denim jeans, and though I was successful, I couldn’t resist adding this maxi skirt to my collection as well! I can honestly say that while both items are showstoppers, to my surprise, they did not clash in any way. I usually tend to focus on one standout piece to build around with each look I create, however this time I decided to take more of a “maximalist” approach. While I could’ve added a simple nude sandal, I chose a striking lace-up option which mimicked the detail of my top, and featured a bold blue heel. Lastly, I decided to complete the outfit with a few gold rings and a unique pair of earrings with multi-colored stones that seamlessly tied all of the elements together. Despite shooting in NYC, this outfit gave me all of the tropical vacation feels, which hopefully is a foreshadowing of what’s to come this year! When it comes to deciding on brands to collaborate with, my process is fairly simple. I tend to ask myself the same 2 questions: “do I have a history with this company?” and, “does this brand have a product that I would actually wear/use in real life?” If everything checks out, it’s usually full steam ahead. After being contacted by the Jeff Wan team, which I was already familiar with, I quickly jumped at the opportunity! Aside from the unique take on accessories with the iconic “lunch box” shape, the quality and craftsmanship is truly unmatched. After filling out a quick survey and listing my top 3 selections, I was thrilled to receive the style that was at the top of my list! As soon as I saw it on the website, it instantly became my favorite. When it comes to styling, I love the color blue because although it can be vibrant, it can also pair with so many things in the way that a neutral shade does. In addition to that, I loved the graphic design that adorned this piece truly making it a showstopper from every angle! Coincidentally, I had been scouring the internet in search of the perfect pair of two-tone jeans. I’ve recently mentioned this popular trend and because I am personally a fan, I wanted to make sure I had something in my closet aside from footwear that fit the bill! This could not have been a more perfect match, as the shades of blue in the denim seamlessly highlighted the varying hues on the bag. In efforts to desaturate the look, I chose to incorporate a cream-colored cut out knit and coordinating cowboy boots. Surprisingly, the hardest part was trying to figure out which piece of outerwear I wanted to complete this ensemble. Because we are still in the midst of Winter, I am challenging myself to continue showcasing more practical outfits that can be worn in this very moment. Once I settled on my plush brown teddy coat, I threw on the largest pair of sunglasses I own and was just about done. As a final touch, I added gold abstract hoops to accent the hardware on my bag and was ready to step out in style! I absolutely loved how this look turned out, especially when it came to the balance of warm and cool tones. I know for a fact that this bag will be in heavy rotation especially as we make our way into the Spring and Summer seasons! Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

After all of the  New York Fashion Week madness, I left feeling super excited and influenced by many of the designer collections. This look in particular was directly inspired by the Balmain spring/summer 2016 line. I was in love with the warm brown tones as well as the primary use of the suede fabric. While this look is pretty simple for the most part, I really wanted to emphasize the contrasting textures. As soon as the saw the faux suede leggings I had immediate flashbacks from the fashion show and knew I would have to create a look around them. Since they are such a statement piece, I decided to keep the top pretty basic with a slogan-tee and a black lightweight blazer to add an extra layer for dimension. To finish off the look I decided to add a two-toned wool hat to expand on the color palette and some strappy black heeled sandals for a chic, feminine vibe. I definitely feel like the suede color and fabric is a huge fall staple and these leggings will absolutely be making some reoccurring appearances in my future outfits. As far as accessories go, we all know I like to keep them minimal, but throwing on a nice wide-brimmed hat is a great way to add a little trendiness to any outfit and look more put together. Balmain has been making quite a bit of noise with this year’s fashion week, as well as with their recent H&M collaboration and all I can say is, I’m loving every minute of it! Until next time friends.
