As the weather heats up, the more effortless my style becomes and with that, the more I gravitate towards my go-to “uniform.” While some may perceive me as quite “girly,” 90% of the time I’m actually in jeans/trousers. For me, especially when it comes to how I put looks together, I typically feel most comfortable with the top half of my ensemble making the statement while keeping the bottom on the more casual side. I purchased black pants in a similar design last year and when I saw that another brand offered them in beige, I knew they would make for another great closet staple! Unlike the previous pair, these were insanely long but I still managed to make it work for the photoshoot. After doing a bit more browsing online, I saw that the same brand also sold a chic open-back knit polo in a muted green shade. Once I received both items, it was clear that they were essentially meant to be worn together because of how well the garments complimented each other. The softness of the tones and slightly cropped hem of the top seamlessly grazed the high-waisted trouser and couldn’t have been more perfect! Because of the color palette I was working with, I immediately knew that black would be too harsh of a contrast. Instead, I opted for brown accessories which allowed for a more understated juxtaposition. After deciding on my footwear and sunnies, instead of incorporating a matching bag, I figured a white option would be a better suited choice in terms of adding interest and highlighting the unique fold-over detail. Lastly I threw on a few pieces of gold jewelry and was ready for my close up! Outfits like this show that you don’t need the flashiest pieces to stand out. Just a few unexpected design elements can really make your look one to be remembered without overwhelming the onlooker. Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

As my style evolves, I find myself not only integrating new pieces but also replacing older ones that have served their purpose and/or need to be updated in terms of quality. I had recently been on the hunt for a new faux leather trench that could fulfill my “90’s matrix” fantasy and for whatever reason, I was having trouble finding one that truly spoke to me. That said, it only took one coffee shop date in SOHO to finally find exactly what I was looking for! In my opinion, that’s one of the most amazing things about living in/near a major city; the inspiration! Whether it be art, music, food, or fashion there is so much you can absorb from the moment you leave your door, and that’s something I’ll always appreciate. Luckily it didn’t take long to receive the coat and despite a few minor sizing issues, I was more than satisfied with my purchase! To be honest, I’ve gotten a few pieces in the mail over the last few months (and even last year) that I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to style. For this ensemble however, I’d say it was one of the most low maintenance yet impactful looks I’ve ever put together. Lately, I’ve really been into minimal tops with interesting details, and this knit was no different! I’ve had plenty of crop tops in this style but the overall chunkiness and cut-outs completely sold me, and I knew I had to have it! At this point I was committed to the monochrome theme, and realized I still hadn’t worn this unique pair of wide-legged trousers that have been in my wardrobe for quite some time. What I loved most about the design was the “fold-over” element which made the pants that much more intriguing, while also breaking up the various shades of black. Finally, for footwear, I decided to incorporate a bit of playfulness and ground the outfit with some acid green metallic mules which I could not be more obsessed with! Since I already had so much going on, I decided to forego a bag and complete the look with sleek sunnies and simple stud earrings. Everything about this styling exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be rocking it again sooner than later! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

There are certain outfits that require hi-res documentation and for me, this was one of them. I unfortunately did not have the chance to get any decent pictures while wearing it on my most recent vacation, but luckily I waited because the show-stopping accessory I didn’t know I needed hadn’t arrived yet. I’ve been extremely grateful for all of the collaborations I’ve been able to do thus far in 2021, and this particular one was no less exciting! Having the opportunity to partner with the iconic https://www.dooney.com/ brand was such a pleasure, as they have been known to produce some of the finest leather goods for decades. I already knew the quality would be amazing, and was not disappointed in the slightest when I received the three (yes, THREE!) handbags. Though I loved them all for different reasons, based on the season we’re currently in, I knew I had style the monogram option immediately. Luckily, I already had the perfect look planned! As soon as I saw the yellow lettering and camel brown accents, I knew this was the missing piece to an already chic styling (if I do say so myself). I did find it slightly challenging at first because I typically incorporate black items when grounding my outfits with more neutral elements. To my pleasant surprise, everything turned out great and the ensemble came together seamlessly. In efforts to match the hardware on the bag, I incorporated gold tear drop earrings and as a final touch and completed the look with my tan mules. As expected, Fall has managed to fly by and Winter has abruptly taken its place without warning. While I am not a huge fan of freezing temperatures, the holiday season is my favorite time of year so I don’t mind pulling out my cozy sweaters and getting into the spirit! At this point, at least in my opinion, there seems to be a fine line between shopping and hoarding these days. While there is still an urge to buy and prepare for the upcoming seasons, with limited access to restaurants and events, I’ve been forcing myself to only purchase items I am absolutely loving and that can last until whenever we resume some ounce of normalcy. That said, I’ve still been doing my due diligence as a consumer and have been quite pleased with the items I have recently added to my wardrobe. For instance, when I first saw this thick cropped knit sweater, I knew it had to be mine! The overall structure and braided detailing truly gave it more of a “high-end” feel, and made it the perfect standout piece on those colder days. Lately, I’ve noticed tailored trousers really making a statement in fashion. Whether worn casually with sneakers or a heeled shoe, they seem to have become the new “all-purpose pant” and I am definitely here for it! Though neutral shades have seemed to be the most popular (black, cream, tan/beige), I couldn’t resist this olive pair and I’m so happy I didn’t! Aside from the gorgeous color, the fit alone had me sold. These pants skimmed my heels effortlessly and were just loose enough to provide that chic laidback feel. Because they’re also high-waisted, they made for a great compliment to my shorter top which provided a solid foundation for the look. Once I had my focal pieces in place, it was time to accessorize! I decided to go with a few of my classic favorites including my snapshot crossbody and black sunglasses. I loved the pop of neon that the bag added and decided to coordinate my jewelry with the gold hardware. For footwear, I kept it simple with a pair of translucent black heels for a subtle yet eye-catching detail. I was absolutely thrilled with how this outfit turned out mainly because of options for versatility. This ensemble can easily be layered with a heavier coat or paired with chunky boots for an edgy vibe. Though a lot of the same trends pop up year after year, I don’t think there’s any problem with freshening up on the seasonal pieces we love! That being said, I’ve rounded up a few of my personal Winter essentials with a bit of a twist. Faux fur coats don’t appear to be going anywhere, but why not switch things up with a bold shade or color-blocked version for added interest. Similarly, the snakeskin boot was definitely a favorite over the last couple years, but how about a croc-print for my daring fashionistas out there? In regards to more classic items, you can never go wrong with a neutral wool scarf and leather trousers for a timeless, chic look. Let me know what you think of my picks in the comments and don’t forget to click the images to shop directly. Until next time!

It may be a shock that blue is not a favorite color of mine as it seems to be a common factor in a lot of my recent looks. That being said, whether this hue is currently on trend or I’m just organically gravitating towards it, I am enjoying the presence it’s been having in my wardrobe. Usually when shopping for pieces to shoot, I tend to seek out at least one item that is either statement-making or something that I am able to transform and style in an unexpected way. Of course, while there may be an excitement that comes with that, every now and then I like to scale things back and style a more “obvious” look. Most retailers are currently promoting their new Spring/Summer collections and with that comes an abundance of vibrant colors, bold prints, and vacation-wear galore. So, in efforts to create an ensemble that I felt completely embodied the season, I chose to keep things simple with a floral blouse and straight-legged denim (ground-breaking, I know). I’m not quite sure what it was, but these garments together truly gave me the effortless feel I was hoping to portray. While the blue shade was probably the subtlest in the overall pattern of the shirt, when paired with the extremely light wash jeans, it seemed to become the most eye-catching. To keep the outfit delicate and minimal, I decided to complete it with a pair of strappy white mules which were absolutely perfect for my simplistic theme. Lastly, to take the cool tones one step further, I gave a nod to the 90’s with a pair of tinted frames featuring the most nostalgic aqua-colored lenses. I feel like I’ve been a huge fan of the “less is more” motto when it comes to my styling lately and truly believe that not every outfit has to necessarily have “shock value” to be great or attention-grabbing. The time has come and we are FINALLY beginning to see some signs of Spring approaching. I don’t know about you guys, but I have had my fair share of Winter blues and am ready to pull out some light jackets, flowy fabrics, and most of all COLOR. To my surprise, I was contacted again by the lovely representatives at Who What Wear and was graciously given the opportunity to select a few pieces from their new collection. I am personally a fan of this brand as a whole because it always seems to find ways to incorporate the latest trends in a wearable way that suits everyone from the style vets, to the fashionistas in training; not to mention the prices are also a bargain! The first piece I decided to style out of the two I was gifted, was a double breasted striped trench vest. Since I was working with such a neutral color scheme and versatile print, there were quite a few options floating around in my head at first glance. Initially, I was planning to fasten all the buttons and wear the garment like a dress, with hopes of finding a dainty blouse that could be layered underneath. After browsing the stores however, the top I had in mind was nowhere to be found and I wasn’t too keen on how the outerwear piece looked as a frock, even with the belt tied tightly around my waist. So it was back to the drawing board, and plan B was put into motion! Since the trench was so long, I thought it would be interesting to add a wide-legged trouser that could essentially streamline the look and give the illusion of an elongated frame. It didn’t take long before I stumbled upon the brightest sky-colored trouser that instantly reminded me of a sunny Spring day without a cloud in sight. The pants also came with an O-ring belt detail which gave a nod to the utilitarian trend that has recently become popular. I decided to keep things simple with a black sleeveless turtleneck sweater and white heels to tie in the stark stripes. Lastly, in efforts to add an unexpected touch, I finished off the look with yellow cat-eye frames for some subtle primary-color-blocking. I honestly felt like this was a great transitional look to launch into the new season, and I can’t wait to show you guys the other piece I styled from the Who What Wear collection. Until next time!

Happy New Year! Does anyone else feel like the holidays just completely flew by?! Every year we spend so much time planning, decorating, and preparing for the last week of the year and within the blink of an eye its over. That being said, with every new year comes new goals, challenges, and hurdles to overcome and I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m excited and more motivated than ever! Last year wasn’t the easiest for me and there were a lot of times where I felt stagnant; but I have put that behind me and am ready to push forward into 2019 full throttle! While I am so grateful to be in a position where I can give to others during the holiday season, I definitely use this time to treat myself a bit as well. I actually saw this sweater on a fellow blogger and she rocked it so well, I was instantly sold and knew I had to make it a part of my wardrobe. I mentioned last year that I’ve really been gravitating towards turtlenecks this season, so the cutout detail was a nice touch to differentiate it from my ever-growing collection. As with most black garments however, the options to pair them with other items are endless so I really had to give some thought to the direction I wanted to go in. Per usual, I followed my normal routine and browsed the shops until I found a piece that struck me; and boy, did it! These snake printed leather trousers are EV-ER-Y-THING!!! On top of being the only pair left in the store that just so happened to be in my size, they were also 50% off– can someone say, “meant to be?!” In my opinion, these trousers are definitely one of those statement pieces that you keep for decades so you can look back on and remember the style of that particular time. Now, with two pieces that I was absolutely in love with, it was time to finish up the look with a few accessories; and to my surprise, I found them in my very own closet! After recently moving and discovering a few items that I haven’t worn in awhile, I stumbled upon some old favorites including these silver cap toe pumps. I really loved how they brought out the grey and blue tones in the pant design, while also brightening up the look overall. Lastly, I grabbed a belt bag that I purchased last year and decided to wear it on my shoulder which really gave a throwback 90’s vibe to the ensemble. I am beyond pleased with how this look turned out and am ready to take on this year in the chicest way possible! Let me know in the comments your favorite piece(s) from this look, as well as any trends or styles you’d like me to try styling! Until next time!

With only a week left until Thanksgiving, I’m finding myself slowly but surely getting into the holiday groove and it’s even begun to show in my current wardrobe. Every year I like to make a mental note of items that I’d like to freshen up or revamp, and leather trousers were definitely on that list. In the past I’ve gravitated toward leggings but this year I was leaning towards something a bit more elevated, and these paper bag waist trousers were the perfect option. In my opinion, the straight leg and tie detail allowed for a more chic and sophisticated take on the edgy garment. Aside from that, I’ve already begun to feel slightly overwhelmed by the abundance of turtlenecks and mock neck sweaters on the market. Granted, we’re approaching the Winter months so of course it’s expected, but I personally wanted to challenge myself to style a different type of top. To my surprise, this ended up being a lot easier than I initially thought and just as I was losing hope, a chain printed button up caught my eye. “Scarf printed” shirts are quite on trend at the moment and though I felt like this was slightly out of my comfort zone, I decided to go for it anyway. To keep the top as the focal point of the look, I knew I wanted to keep any additional pieces black; however, I figured this would also be a good time to incorporate different textures. Despite wanting to stay away from turtlenecks, I made a slight exception and chose to layer a lace version under the shirt for some added interest. The rest of my accessories, were solely added to play off the colors in the bold print. I wanted to highlight the gold chains by adding a pair of black pumps with a metal cap toe detail and my ring-handle bag. For some final touches, I chose to complete the look with my red tinted frames and a bright red lip for a pop of color. Overall, I’m pleased with how this look turned out and I’m excited to style some more outfits suitable for this festive season! Let me know in the comments what types of holiday looks/content you’d like to see in the upcoming weeks. Until next time!

For this collaboration with Who What Wear, I was challenged to style one article of clothing 3 different ways. Though excited, as this isn’t something I typically showcase on my blog, I was also a bit nervous not because I felt incapable but because I wasn’t choosing the item myself. That being said, I was so relieved to see that the item chosen for me was right up my alley and a wardrobe staple that I could easily style in a variety of ways. This double-breasted, pin striped blazer is the perfect Fall essential for layering over transitional pieces and adding a more tailored element to any ensemble. For my first look, I decided to keep things very chic and sleek by pairing it with a turtleneck that I layered under a satin camisole, along with black skinnys and a pair of minimal black pumps. To me, this look gave more of a business casual vibe, or “boss babe” if you will. Overall, I loved the way this look turned out and it definitely made me feel strong and confident!

I would say that my second look is for the more casual & cool girls out there. Putting this outfit together was extremely effortless and I think it showed in the way the pieces complimented each other. I chose to do a bit of print-mixing and found the perfect red, leopard print frock to do so. To keep things easy, I threw on some sneakers and a pair of mesh socks for a cute unexpected detail and was out the door. In efforts to add a few more accessories, I grabbed my black cross-body bag with silver hardware and cat-eye frames, which I definitely think helped play off of the edgy vibe without being too overpowering.

Last but certainly not least, I decided to end with a trendy street-style look. As we are well into the Autumn season, I felt like I couldn’t finish this collaboration without incorporating a bit of corduroy. Luckily, I was able to find the most amazing flared trousers which made all of my 70’s dreams come true. To keep them as the focal point of the look, I paired the pants with a simple white t-shirt and added a some gold layered necklaces which I’ve been absolutely obsessed with lately. After throwing on my black booties, I completed this look with a dark vampy lip and draped the blazer over my shoulders for a final touch.  Personally, I loved all of these looks for different reasons and I feel like they reflected the versatility of my everyday style in the best way. Let me know in the comments which outfit was your favorite and if you would’ve styled this blazer in a way that I didn’t think of. Until next time!
