I’m not sure if it’s just me, but January always feels like the longest month EVER! Between the freezing temperatures, early sunsets, and the fact that we’re still quarantined for the most part, it has definitely been a struggle trying to find the motivation to create content or even get dressed for that matter. Either way the show must go on and despite not doing too much shopping, I have still found a few items recently that have been exciting new additions to my wardrobe. Surprisingly, I actually purchased these trousers last Summer and have been dying to style them! The asymmetric fastening detail, is a trend that I’ve seen growing increasingly popular and I am personally a huge fan. Perhaps this could be a bit unusual for some, but I find it to add a subtle interest to any outfit. Another trend that has seemed to resurface is “two-tone” or color-blocking. I’ve seen this featured in denim, footwear, and most recently, knitwear. This particular mock-neck top instantly caught my eye while online shopping, and I knew I had to have it! The baby blue and cream combination provided an unexpected pop of color while still remaining neutral enough to be paired with almost anything. Since I was working with cool tones for the most part, I really wanted to keep the overall vibe of the ensemble “ski-lodge chic.” To further capture this essence I decided to reach for my cream puffer jacket, which in all honesty I do not wear nearly enough. Finally to tie everything together, I added my blackest shades and newest leather sock boots to match the exposed button on my trousers. Though this was a fairly simple look, I enjoyed incorporating a touch of color to elevate my Winter mood. Comment below if you tend to gravitate towards brighter hues during this time of year, or if you’re all about the darker shades and neutrals. Until next time!

There’s something about a lightweight suit in the Summer that truly makes you feel empowered, strong, chic, and ready for just about anything. What I love most about this look is the casualness that comes with such a traditionally structured garment. We often associate suits with the office, business, or formal events. Yet in the warmer months, they become a bit more carefree and a much “cooler” version of what we expect them to be. When I first came across this set, I was drawn in by the bold pattern, as well as the overall color scheme. At first glance, this may look like your average neutral checked suit; however after close inspection, there are fine lines of blue piping throughout which really make this set even more special. As a lover of contrast who also appreciates a good pop of color, it was a no-brainer for me to immediately pair this co-ord with my newest heeled sandals in a bright sapphire shade as well. In efforts to not overly saturate the ensemble, I toned things down with a knit grey crop-top for some added balance. To finish off the look, I threw on a large pair of gold framed sunnies and was on my way! This is yet another example of how versatile garments can be; so do yourself a favor and step out of the box! Just because something is labeled as being meant for a conference, doesn’t mean you can’t rock it to the park! Until next time!

On the heels of the distressed denim trend, it seems as though the fashion world has decided to take it one step further and add bleach to the mix. While this is not something I’ve seen consistently since the early 2000’s, it seems as though bleached denim pieces are reappearing in retailers and planning to make bold statements for the Spring & Summer. Check out the pieces I’ve gathered below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Happy shopping; until next time!

I’ve been noticing a HUGE trend involving primary colors over the last few months. For me, this was not something I could really ever see myself partaking in as I tend to gravitate towards darker, more neutral tones. That said, I purchased these trousers during my fashion week preparation and thought that they would be a nice statement piece to wear to a few shows. As it turns out I ended up loving them, and after being captured wearing them on a few different street-style blog sites(here), I knew I had to style them for a post of my own. Because these trousers are SO bright, I wanted to keep them as the focal point of the look. This is not to say that you can’t pair them with other vivid pieces, but I wanted to keep the look authentic to my personal style. To keep things fairly casual, I paired the trousers with my medium blue chambray top. I thought the combination of these garments really made for a nice transitional Spring look with a tailored flare. For a bit of dimension, I added a lace bralet underneath the top and had the shirt unbuttoned about half way to expose the delicate details. I continued to play off of the black stripe detail on the pants and added a light over-sized cardigan for some added movement. To accessorize, I opted for my frequently used leather quilted purse and my sleek heeled booties for a bit of height. Though fairly minimal, I was quite pleased with how this turned out. With a peachy-nude lip and my gold aviator frames, I was ready for an outdoor brunch with friends or a chic business meeting. I hope you guys enjoyed this look and let me know what you think of the primary color trend in the comments below. Until next time!
