I’m not sure what has gotten into me lately, but blush tones have really been tickling my fancy more than ever before. That being said, due to a certain hallmark holiday also creeping up on us, I’ve decided to embrace the feminine hues this month as it seems rather fitting. While my V-day plans are still to be determined, I wanted to try styling a couple looks that conveyed the romantic feel of the 14th, without being entirely predictable. So in efforts to put my own spin on things, it was inevitable that some form of contrast had to come into play. During my shopping trip I was met with the misfortune of being faced with every vibrant red and pink garment imaginable; and while this may have made the task easier for some, I was beginning to get concerned that I would have to leave empty handed. On my last lap around the store however, I noticed a slightly muted mauve toned slip dress that was honestly right up my alley! The gorgeous color paired with the elegant draping of the frock, instantly convinced me that I was moving in the right direction. However, because it was such a dainty piece, I knew I wanted to layer it with a few items that would give it a bit more structure and add some casual elements. After more hours of over-thinking and weighing my style options, I decided to take an understated approach and simply use a crisp white t-shirt as my base. On top of that, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a shearling jacket I had been eyeing for about a month now, and I couldn’t be more obsessed! The cut and shape of this stunning piece of outerwear is unlike anything else I own and can easily take me into the upcoming Spring months. Because the majority of this ensemble consisted of softer tones, I decided to add my grey suede thigh high boots for some added warmth and color richness. To complete the look, I thought it would be fun to give a nod to my 2015 self and throw on an embellished choker. This necklace alone, with its eye-catching rhinestones and overlapping black tie laces, really helped marry both of the edgy and girly components that made up this look. Let me know in the comments your favorite piece from this outfit and where/if you would wear it to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Until next time!

Another day, another jumpsuit! I’m not sure how this obsession began but I honestly can’t see my love for these garments decreasing anytime soon. Aside from being an all-in-one outfit, jumpsuits come in a variety of styles that make getting dressed easy and effortless every single time. When I first came across this particular piece, I was slightly caught off guard. I knew I liked the item, but I wasn’t sure if the warm rust color and denim fabric made for the most Spring/Summer appropriate piece. That being said, I accepted the challenge and made it my own! The jumpsuit’s silhouette gave me a fun 70’s vibe that I didn’t know I would actually love until I tried the piece on. In addition to that, the overall-style straps also resembled 90’s fashion trends and made me that much more excited to see what I could create. Given the plunging neckline and  inconsistent temperatures, there was no doubt in my mind that I would be layering this piece with something; and after much debate, I figured a plain white t-shirt would be the perfect option. I knew I wanted to pair this bold piece with something that was simple, light, and breathable, without being too busy and taking away from the jumpsuit itself. (Sidebar: as the temperatures heat up, I think a cropped white tank would also be super cute under this jumpsuit!) To accessorize, I decided to go with a neutral toned belt bag with gold hardware and strappy tan sandals. Though fairly casual, I think this look can be worn in a variety of settings and still turn heads! To finish off the look, I added a statement pair of earrings to add a touch of unexpected glam. All in all, this look is absolutely one that I’ll be revisiting and reinventing as we get deeper into 2018. Until next time!

What’s one thing a t-shirt, jeans, a blazer, and white sneakers all have in common? Well aside from being articles of clothing, I think they also share the commonality of being wardrobe staples. In my opinion, both men and women should keep these 4 items in their closets at all times as they can easily be the foundation to any ensemble for most occasions. Check out the items I’ve rounded up below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Until next time!

Outfit inspiration can come from anywhere whether it’s the runway, strangers on the street, an ad, or your very own friends and family. This particular ensemble was a recreation of a look I saw styled on a mannequin while out of town that I completely fell in love with! Overall, I loved the randomness of the mixture of items as well as the classic casual pieces that were thrown in for an effortlessly cool vibe. Track pants have been trending for quite a few seasons, and while I already have a black pair in a more tailored style, I thought it was time to finally get my hands on the real thing. I love these trousers because while they make an obvious statement with their bold red hue, they can also be worn in a variety of ways. For this look I chose to pair my trousers with black court shoes to dress them up and though I was initially looking for a blouse, ended up styling a graphic t-shirt for a more relaxed and playful look. So as not to keep the look too dressed down, I chose to finish off the outfit by layering a navy blazer for a “smart” and chic element. With so much going on, I didn’t want to incorporate too many accessories because I felt it would be slightly overwhelming for the already eye-catching look. Though fairly different pieces, I liked how the white accents on each article of clothing worked to create a seamless and cohesive looking outfit. I also thought the incorporation of primary colors (red, blue, & yellow) really made an unexpected statement that I’m not used to, but happy I decided to experiment with. Comment below if you’re a fan of incorporating athletic pieces into your everyday style or if you choose to solely keep them for the gym and other fitness related activities. Until next time!

“April showers bring May flowers,” and much needed sunshine! This time of year is always slightly melancholy for me because the excitement of summer is constantly overshadowed by teases of warm weather and mostly grey skies. Unfortunately, when dressing for this season, light coats and jackets are still pretty mandatory so I decided to incorporate one with this look. It was a no-brainer for me to reach for my trench coat as I’ve basically been wearing it consistently on a daily basis. It has definitely become a staple in my wardrobe, (which I love) because it’s neutral tone doesn’t clash with my brighter Spring pieces and it’s the perfect weight for adding a layer of warmth on breezy days. I wanted to keep this look pretty casual overall, so I thought a muted blush graphic tee and mid-wash jeans would be the perfect combo. Both of these pieces, though fairly simple, provide elements of interest with their trendy details. Cut-out graphic t-shirts have been quite popular since last summer and kick-flare trousers are definitely not going anywhere any time soon. Recently I’ve noticed that I have been been attracted to cream shades, so when I saw these suede heeled sandals I had to have them! At first glance, I instantly began thinking of all of the outfits I could style around them and how they would literally go with everything. (TIP: Light colored footwear is the easiest way to transition a look from  Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer.) To finish off the look, I threw on my aviator sunglasses which subtly complimented the gold hardware on my coat and was out the door! For me, this is the perfect Springtime weekend look and I look forward to styling many more this season. Until next time!

I’d be lying if I said I was in any way surprised that graphic tees have once again resurfaced as a trend. There’s something so nostalgic, effortless, and edgy about them that makes it fun to just throw them on with practically anything. What’s also great about these pieces is that you can find them anywhere from the showrooms of well known designers to your local thrift store. Check out the tees I’ve rounded up below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks! Until next time!
