I’ve noticed a lot more statement pieces this year for spring, than in the past. This season, it seems like the leading “F” in fashion stands for FUN, and a lot of designers and retailers are putting  quite a bit more personality and life into their clothing. One of the main items I’ve seen making bold statements has been outerwear; specifically, bomber jackets. The bomber jacket trend became quite popular a few seasons ago in the traditional olive green, but this year it’s back and better than ever! Jackets with intricate details, floral prints, and shiny satin material have been showing up in most major retail stores and adding a “pop” to outfits everywhere. Being a lover of contrast, I just couldn’t pass up this jacket. I’m obsessed with how the soft feminine print plays off of the sporty vibe of the garment. With such a bold piece, I kept the rest of the look pretty simple with a slightly distressed, frayed edge skinny jean and black strappy heels. To keep the outfit playful and light, I added my new taupe fringe bag and was on my way! Statement jackets are a very easy way to add some interest to an otherwise simple or rather dull look without putting forth too much effort.
