I know what you’re thinking, “more denim?!” Well truth be told, it’s not a phase. I’ve always been a denim girl and quite frankly during the transitional seasons (i.e. Spring & Fall), in my humble opinion, it’s one of the most durable textiles. Aside from being trendy at the moment, it’s also versatile, easy to layer, and can be dressed up or down! Believe it or not, I did actually take a look at my wardrobe to see what I was missing before settling on this outfit. It’s no secret that I have a pretty sizable collection of jeans, and my skirt selection has definitely grown in the last year as well. Casual dresses however, seemed to be where I was lacking so I quickly scoured the internet to find a style that would serve as a solid base. Though more often than not I will opt for a heel, having the option to wear a flat shoe is absolutely something I take into consideration when bringing new pieces into my closet. That being said, this dark-washed strapless frock was unlike anything I already owned and thus fit the bill perfectly! Another void I noticed was short jackets. Outside of blazers and leather/moto designs, most of my outerwear is long, which once again serves as a slight issue when getting dressed as the temperatures continue to rise. Not going to lie, I was fully influenced by one of my favorite content creators to buy this bomber; but also, is it not incredible?! I absolutely loved the exaggerated take on the classic varsity jacket. The oversized drop shoulder unexpectedly brought a “fashion” element to an otherwise sporty and understated item. Because of the bulk on top, having a sleeker garment underneath helped to keep the ensemble streamlined and not too voluminous overall. Based on the color palette I was working with, I chose to keep my accessories fairly light and minimal. Though I could’ve easily paired this with a crisp white sneaker (and most likely will in the future), I really wanted to show some juxtaposition so a nude lace-up heel was the final choice. I complimented my shoes with a small crossbody bag which featured other light shades, gold hardware, and pop of neon for added interest. Lastly, I threw on my favorite “indoor-outdoor” sunnies some eye-catching jewelry and voila! In the grand scheme of things, nothing about these items are particularly extravagant or “ground-breaking,” but it just goes to show that a few subtle details here and there can easily take your look from basic to elevated. As the weather heats up, the more effortless my style becomes and with that, the more I gravitate towards my go-to “uniform.” While some may perceive me as quite “girly,” 90% of the time I’m actually in jeans/trousers. For me, especially when it comes to how I put looks together, I typically feel most comfortable with the top half of my ensemble making the statement while keeping the bottom on the more casual side. I purchased black pants in a similar design last year and when I saw that another brand offered them in beige, I knew they would make for another great closet staple! Unlike the previous pair, these were insanely long but I still managed to make it work for the photoshoot. After doing a bit more browsing online, I saw that the same brand also sold a chic open-back knit polo in a muted green shade. Once I received both items, it was clear that they were essentially meant to be worn together because of how well the garments complimented each other. The softness of the tones and slightly cropped hem of the top seamlessly grazed the high-waisted trouser and couldn’t have been more perfect! Because of the color palette I was working with, I immediately knew that black would be too harsh of a contrast. Instead, I opted for brown accessories which allowed for a more understated juxtaposition. After deciding on my footwear and sunnies, instead of incorporating a matching bag, I figured a white option would be a better suited choice in terms of adding interest and highlighting the unique fold-over detail. Lastly I threw on a few pieces of gold jewelry and was ready for my close up! Outfits like this show that you don’t need the flashiest pieces to stand out. Just a few unexpected design elements can really make your look one to be remembered without overwhelming the onlooker. Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

There are certain items in my wardrobe that will always remain a staple regardless of the trends or how they evolve throughout each season; and for me, denim will always be a constant. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a large collection of jeans and though I’ve gotten rid of the pairs that no long suit my personal style, I’d be willing to bet I still have more than the average person. Whether skinny or straight, distressed or embellished, I can always find an excuse to add a new style and these cargos were the perfect addition! Cargo pants are typically associated with a more utilitarian lifestyle where function is the main priority, hence the multiple enlarged pockets. That being said, they have become quite popular within the fashion community lately, and despite their original intended use, have been a mainstream success especially with regard to “streetstyle.” Since I’m partial to lighter washes in general, from the moment I saw these trousers I knew I had to have them and in no way was I disappointed with my choice! Another recent purchase I made was this cropped white knit featuring contrasting buttons and bell sleeves. Like the pants, the fit and quality were a complete dream and the pieces were instantly a match made in style heaven! Though this ensemble was on the simpler side, the subtle details seamlessly flowed together to create a complimentary foundation. For accessories, I wanted to emphasize more of the darker elements without weighing down the entire look. To do this, I threw on the most minimal heeled sandals I own and a small crossbody bag with a black trimmed guitar strap. This really helped to balance the outfit overall, and allowed for a nice juxtaposition against the lighter hues. Finally, to play off of the gold hardware, I added my favorite oversized sunnies and jewelry to match! This type of effortless styling comes so naturally to me and I can’t wait to showcase even more versatility throughout the Spring and Summer months! As the evolution of my style continues, I’m still making it a point to have fun and not take my choices too seriously. Being the fan of contrast and juxtaposition that I am, those themes always tend to present themselves in my looks regardless of the types of ensembles I’m creating. Upon a recent shopping trip to actually make a return, I was doing one last browse around the store when these camo printed cargos caught my eye. To be honest, this is definitely not a motif that is a staple in my wardrobe yet for some reason, I was instantly drawn to them and knew I could make them work. While my first thought was to dress them up with some kind of heeded sandal (which I’m sure I’ll still do in the future), I wanted to tap into more of a causal vibe and emphasize the grunginess they are typically associated with. Of course I still had to put my own “ASM” twist on the outfit, so in efforts to elevate the look I paired the trousers with a rhinestone encrusted t-shirt which added a slightly glamorous, feminine essence. Since it still hasn’t been warm enough to completely leave the outerwear layers behind, I took this as an opportunity to incorporate my newest wool-blend blazer. I wasn’t sure if I’d get any wear out of this piece before the next Fall/Winter seasons, but the light icy grey shade somehow still worked to provide balance within the color palette and not take away from the overall relaxed fit. To complete the styling, I threw on my black and white dunks which really gave the outfit that street-style flare and a handbag in the infamous “Bottega green” for a subtle nod to the trend. Some small frames and a few silver rings served as the icing on the cake and I was ready for any and everything! I’m sure I’ll have a lot of “favorite fashion moments” this year, but I’m already claiming this as one of them. Spring is just about here and I couldn’t be more excited to refresh my wardrobe and get back to showcasing some of my favorite new-in pieces! After doing a ton of shopping last month and getting inspired by all of the designers who presented collections during New York, Milan, and Paris fashion week, I was having a hard time trying to figure out which looks I wanted to style first! In my opinion, this ensemble was the best choice to kick off the season as the garments are literally embossed with a quilted floral pattern; I mean, what could be more perfect?! That said, I also wanted to give one final nod to neutrals before we get hit with a full blast of saturation from all of the color-rich trends that seem to be flooding the in-store and online retailers. When I first saw this co-ord set, I was instantly intrigued and knew it would make for a subtle yet eye-catching statement. With 50% of the outfit already established, all I had to do was figure out how I wanted to layer and accessorize to complete my vision. I recently purchased this cropped white shirt, that I already know will soon become a staple in my closet. I love that the shoulder pads allow the top to maintain it’s structure while also adding an elevated twist to a classic everyday piece. Because I was working with a fairly light color palette overall, I had to be very strategic and mindful of my contrasting elements. In efforts to provide a bit of balance to offset the mini skirt, I threw on my tall leather boots in a beige tone which added a casual juxtaposition to the more feminine details. I completed the styling by adding a gorgeous wine-colored bag for a pop of color and a pair of sharp cat eye frames with a tortoise design. I truly enjoyed this look and it definitely has me ready for longer days, warmer temperatures, and the beauty of seeing everything in bloom! When it comes to color combinations, brown and blue is one that I personally love and have styled in a variety of ways on several occasions. It’s no secret that the chocolate shade was one of the biggest trends last year, and though more vibrant tones have taken over for the time being, I have no doubt it will resurface again towards the end of 2021. During an online retail therapy session, I came across this bodycon matching set and instantly knew I had to have it! Aside from the fact that it was giving all of the 90’s Mariah Carey “Butterfly” album cover vibes, it was also unlike anything I currently own in my wardrobe. Though I absolutely love statement pieces, I also genuinely appreciate garments that are simple enough to create an effortless, yet eye-catching ensemble. Because my foundation was so plain, I knew I had to include some striking elements that would really make my look pop! Towards the beginning of Spring, I purchased a tweed plaid blazer featuring gorgeous abstract shaped tortoise buttons. This striking accent detail matched perfectly with my co-ord, while also adding a balance of light, since I was working with a fairly dark base. My outerwear piece also incorporated teal threading in the pattern, which I chose to highlight with a bucket bag in a similar hue. For shoes, I kept it simple with a pair of black heeled sandals and was ready for brunch, date night, or an evening on the town with the girls. With the sense of normalcy steadily returning, the excitement of getting dressed up is also at an all time high! I look forward to recreating this look IRL and enjoying the simple moments we took for granted over the last year. Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Sage, the herb, is typically associated with calmness, peace, and positivity. Over the last few years however, it has also become one of the standout colors during the Spring and Summer months. What intrigues me most about this shade is its ability to live in the space of bright pastels as well as neutrals. It’s been quite some time since I’ve styled a jumpsuit and when I came across this one, I knew it was the piece I had been looking for! The light, khaki texture allowed for a structured yet breathable fit which would be perfect when worn during the upcoming seasons. Additionally, the pale tortoise buttons provided a natural element that reminded me of the Earth’s organic textures, and definitely influenced my choice of accessories. Though color-blocking is a huge trend at the moment, I really wanted to let this garment shine on its own so, tan accents were my immediate go-to. Last year I bought this gorgeous wooden crossbody bag for vacation and realized I had never done an official photo shoot with it! I finally seized my opportunity and chose to pair it with a simple pair of mules to complete the ensemble. For jewelry, I chose a statement gold chain necklace and studs for a classic yet elegant touch. Lastly, I was thrilled to incorporate my new favorite sunglasses in an oversized aviator style. The transparent brown lens make these the most versatile sunnies whether indoor or outdoor, and I plan to take full advantage now that I have them in my collection. I feel like as a style blogger, there are outfits that I shoot solely for content purposes and those that I intend to repeat and wear IRL. Without a doubt, this look definitely falls into the latter and I can’t wait for a brunch or event to recreate this casual chic moment! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

As Spring approaches, there always seems to be an excitement that comes along with this time of year. Warmer temperatures, outdoor activities, and cleansing my personal space to make way for new positive energy, are just a few of the things I look forward to most. In addition to that, I’d be lying if I said refreshing my wardrobe wasn’t also at the top of the list! While I don’t buy into every trend, I love to see which ones are making a statement and resurfacing as the year progresses. Though I wouldn’t say it’s “new,” I definitely think we’ll be seeing an abundance of color in 2021. Aside from the fact that bolder, brighter shades can be seen as an energy/mood boosters, I think that just about everyone is ready to step out of their comfort zone and experiment with fashion after being confined to loungewear for over a year. Personally, I’ve already noticed shades of yellow seeping into my closet more than even before; and I’m not mad at it! While browsing some of my favorite online retailers, I stumbled across this wool sweater dress and was instantly drawn to it. Often we associate these type of frocks with the Fall/Winter seasons and are used to seeing them worn in darker or more neutral hues. Needless to say, I decided to give it a try and couldn’t be happier with my choice! Being a lover of pastels, this eye-catching piece was definitely a seamless fit for my style, not to mention how flattering the silhouette was overall. For an element of contrast, I chose to layer the dress with a plaid blazer featuring a variety of cool grey tones. I also added a pair of brown knee-high boots and matching sunglasses in efforts to warm up the color palette, which in my opinion really helped balance the ensemble. I opted to keep my jewelry dainty yet striking with layered gold necklaces and a couple chunky rings. This outfit definitely exceeded my expectations and has me ready to step into the next few months more daring and playful especially when it comes to my styling choices. MULES

There are certain pieces that need absolutely no introduction or major selling point and this playsuit was one of them! As soon as I saw it online, I knew it would be a standout garment for my Summer wardrobe as well as a memorable item that would instantly turn heads. During my first try-on, I immediately saw how much personality and flare this romper had. From the voluminous sleeves, to the bold contrasting print, I knew that to pull this off I would have to be my most confident self. As per usual, when I style a look around one focal piece, I tend to downplay the rest of the accessories so that the item I want to stand out will really “pop.” For this reason, I chose a sleek black mule to streamline the ensemble as well as give my legs some added length. To my surprise because of the heel height in comparison to the short-shorts, I really looked like I had grown about a foot on camera! Lastly, I decided to finish off the outfit with some pops of gold, so I reached for my sequin pineapple bag and small hoops that I’ve literally been wearing nonstop. Though I never really discuss it specifically, I think it’s important to call out just how important selecting a location is to my photoshoot process. On this particular day, we happened to stumble across this white scaffolding (which is very common in NYC) but for some reason it stuck out to me more than usual. The coloring alone definitely made it more appealing, as well as the circular lighting on the ceiling which gave a cleaner more photogenic look, while complimenting the spots on my jumpsuit. I say all of this to say, that the work I put in goes way beyond the clothes; everything plays a role in capturing those perfect shot(s) and I’m glad that you like what ‘m creating. Until next time!
