Though I am growing increasingly more excited for the transition into the new season, I could not help but take the next few weeks as an opportunity to crank out any last minute Summer looks I have yet to style. I think we can all agree that the biggest trend so far this year has been bold, saturated color. While I didn’t go too crazy, I definitely added a few pieces to my wardrobe that fit the bill and this skirt was no exception! It actually belongs to a two-piece set but for this particular styling session, I felt that using just one of the garments was more than enough to achieve the vibe I desired. Since I was working with such a bold print, I knew I wanted to include elements that were both complimentary as well as paired down for a subtle contrast. I was initially contemplating a few variations of white crop-tops, but in the end decided to go with the simplest option which was a plain ribbed tank. Along with highlighting some of the negative space in the skirt’s pattern, it also provided a nice balance to the ensemble overall. For footwear, I chose to take a bit of a risk and incorporate my newest pair of heels. From the moment I saw them, I knew they were a showstopper that belonged in my wardrobe. For some, I understand how this pairing could be a bit much, but for me they were absolutely perfect! As if this look couldn’t get any brighter, I took it a step further by also opting for a pink crossbody bag which really took things to the next level. As a final touch, I threw on some silver framed sunnies and jewelry to match the hardware on my accessories and keep them cohesive. I’m not sure if I’ve ever worn an outfit packed with so much color, but I truly enjoyed how it turned out and feel like I can officially go into Fall with no regrets! Satin has got to be one of the most popular fabrics during the Summer months. Despite the fact that it is lightweight and breathable, this material also allows for beautiful movement that really highlights the softness of the garment. While I have recently discussed my ever growing slip dress collection, my first introduction to satin pieces were definitely in the form of skirts! I love how versatile these pieces are and how they truly can be styled all year round with just a few additional layers. For this ensemble however, I kept things seasonally appropriate and semi-casual. Because I chose to keep the bottom half of the look completely neutral, it was imperative that I add some color for a bit of interest. This season in particular, I’ve really been drawn to vibrant pops of color and this hot pink crop top was no exception! From the moment I saw this statement making item, I knew it would be the perfect add-on for a plain look that just needed some extra spice. Though the outfit was nearly complete, it was still too simple for my liking. In efforts to seamlessly tie everything together, I grabbed my personalized denim jacket, my light beige wicker bag, and some classic black sunnies for a contrasting element. In my opinion, this would be the perfect beach day/boardwalk look or even suitable for a nice picnic lunch. Let me know in the comments if this is something you could see yourself styling and until next time!

My how time flies when you’re doing what you love! Exactly 5 years ago, on the first day of Spring, March 2015, the website for A Styled Mind was launched. At that time I was excited, nervous, and in no way prepared for all that I would learn along this journey. The challenges made for exponential growth, and the frustrations allowed room for me to hone in on my vision while planting the seed for what my platform could become. Seeing the evolution of my personal style, photography, and overall confidence in the fashion/influencer space has truly made me realize the importance of consistency, dedication, and quality work. While it would be impossible for me to try and predict what’s next, I can only hope for more accomplishments and opportunities, while I continue expressing myself through clothing. My mind is full of ideas and I still have tons of different content genres I’d like to expand the ASM brand into; menswear styling, fitness, cooking, and interior design to name a few.

Sooner than later, I’d love to work on building a team to support me in the expansion of my platform. As with any entrepreneurial venture, there are tons of sacrifices that must be made along the way, but with a strong foundation and loyal community, eventually the hard work will pay off and the fruits of your labor will be that much sweeter! Regarding future goals for the next 5 years, I’d love to have a capsule collection with a brand I am personally a fan of, run ASM full time, speak on a variety of panels geared towards the empowerment of women, have a feature in a global fashion magazine, and attend a luxury fashion show in either Paris or Milan. Though I don’t know where or how this journey ends, I am forever grateful for the support, kind words, and interest in my brand since the very beginning! Let’s cheers to 5 more shall we?!

In the spirit of taking on new challenges in 2019, I ended up styling a look that I honestly shocked myself with. While it wasn’t the garments that were outside of my comfort zone, but the COLOR that truly made me think twice about a few of my life choices (dramatic I know). If anyone knows me, it’s no secret that I’m not a “pink” type of chick. That being said, coming up with new ways to wear the same black, white, and grey pieces during the Winter season can get a bit stale. I’ve had this salmon colored ribbed turtleneck for quite some time and simply thought of it as another basic piece to layer with when I wanted to add a pop of color to my ensemble. During a recent shopping trip however, I stumbled upon this plaid midi-skirt with a variety of similar shades, in addition to stripes of blush, and white. I couldn’t help but pick it up, as it was definitely striking, but I wasn’t exactly sure if it was “me.” After doing a few more laps and even leaving the store, I eventually decided to commit to the rosy garment hoping all would work out. It wasn’t until I got home and began rummaging through my drawers that I saw the outfit coming together right before my eyes! In all honesty, I thought it was a risky move to pair the skirt with a top of essentially the same tone, but the monochromatic lover in me was all for it! By this point I was sold on the vision and decided to play off of the plaid pattern further by incorporating my cream calf boots, which I had been itching to style for what has felt like decades! The shoes definitely gave a nod to the chicness of the 60’s and helped tie everything together in the most perfect way. Lastly, I wanted to add a bag as a final touch; however, because I was working with a fairly light color palette, I didn’t want anything that would appear too harsh. As a compromise, I decided on a brown bucket bag with crocodile embossed leather. To compliment the silver accents, I threw on my favorite pair of geometric earrings and was ready to go! Comment below your favorite garment from this look and how you keep your Winter style fun and fresh. Until next time!

With only a few days left until we ring in the new year, I thought I’d round up a few festive ensembles perfect for any NYE celebratory occasion! Whether your event in conservative, risque, casual or completely over the top, it’s not too late to find a look that will have you looking and feeling your best as we enter 2019! I tried to find a variety of options, so don’t forget to click the images below to shop my picks! See you next year! <3

Growing up in the North East, I’ve truly come to appreciate each and every season. From the wardrobe changes and nostalgic feelings that come with them, it seems like there’s always something to look forward to. Now that we’re on the cusp on Winter, it is prime time to bring out all of those cozy textures that keep us warm and looking chic! Over the years faux furs have become a Fall/Winter staple and, aside from being just another fashionable piece, are now crafted to look and feel just as good if not better than the real thing! This year, I was determined to add a new coat to my collection that was still for the most part, practical, functional, and eye-catching. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a fur, but when I saw this one I knew it I had to at least try it on. To my surprise, upon doing so, I fell in love with the color, fit, and weight of the outerwear garment and knew it had to be mine! Because this was such a statement making piece, I wanted to be strategic with how I styled it. While I knew I wanted to incorporate neutral tones, I didn’t want to play it too safe by styling an all black/cream outfit. On another shopping trip shortly thereafter, I found this amazing houndstooth midi skirt that had just enough detail to keep the look interesting and dimensional, without taking away from or clashing with the coat. Since faux fur pieces can definitely be a little bulky for some, I made sure to keep the other items of the ensemble sleek and form fitting, including a textured short sleeved mock-neck t-shirt I found. To finish off the look, I decided to add a pop of color with an old pair of orange sock booties, and gold hoops for some extra sass. I know for a fact I’ll be layering this coat over almost anything this season from the most casual to  festive and formal outfits. Let me know in the comments your go-to faux fur garments or accessories and how you like to style them for this time of year. Until next time!

I feel like this season more than ever, I’ve been really open to trying out different trends. It just seems like a lot of the popular statement making pieces thus far have been right up my alley, and it’s been very easy to incorporate them into my current wardrobe. Honestly, every item in this look can be classified as “on-trend,” so let’s just start from the top and work our way down, shall we? Vibrant colors were HUGE this fashion month, so much so that even neon made a come back! Designer brands like Prada incorporated a variety of these shades into their recent designs, with green seeming to lead the pack. For me personally, I like to find pieces that fit the mold without being so trend specific that they can’t be worn once they’re no longer “in style.” Because I’m not the biggest fan of neon, I opted for a chartreuse turtleneck that was just as bold and eye-catching. To compliment this minimal top, I chose a textured snake print mini skirt that served as the perfect neutral. While that statement may be hard to believe, there’s not much that animal prints can’t be paired with as they all usually tend to incorporate shades of black, brown, & occasionally grey. To finish up the look I chose to add stark white accessories instead of my usual darker pieces. (FUN FACT: I bought this clutch in college and it’s made an appearance on my website every year since I’ve started blogging.) With the colder months slowly approaching, I love the idea of including lighter colored items into my Fall/Winter ensembles, aside from the typical black boots and bags. These sling-backs were so interesting to me and the round wooden heel really helped to pull the warm tones out of the skirt and balance the look. To play off of the silver hardware, I threw on my favorite pair of geometric earrings and a pair of clear frames for an extra cool factor. This was definitely one of my more fun looks that really just made me…happy! The vibrancy truly uplifted my mood and made me feel like risk-taking rockstar that could conquer the fashion world– slightly extreme, but you get the point, lol. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried, or are interested in trying any of the trends discussed and list your favorite. Until next time!

Leopard print is a popular trend that reoccurs every year especially as we approach the Fall and Winter months. I personally view animal prints as more elevated types of neutrals and love incorporating them into my wardrobe all  year round. I’ve rounded up a few pieces below that have caught my eye and I could definitely see myself styling this season. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks; until next time!

Now that the temperatures have FINALLY begun to remain consistently warm and “Spring-like,” it’s only natural that thoughts of vacations and summer Fridays become more of a priority. As a person whose mood is greatly affected by the weather, I am definitely excited for the increase of sunshine and abundance of social events that these next few seasons bring. While browsing the shops for inspiration, I didn’t even plan on buying anything but of course ended up spotting a piece that I couldn’t resist! This blue and white striped blouse fit so perfectly, I was actually tempted to wear it out of the store (after paying for it obviously, lol). There was something about this piece that just made me want to book a weekend getaway and relax by a beautiful body of water. I also loved the trendy under-wire design that added a chic structure and uniqueness to the top; setting it apart from the average button-up. Since I felt like I had already found the main focal piece of the ensemble, the challenge now was to find complimentary items to complete it. At first, I thought about settling for a pair of jeans or a cream colored skirt to highlight the stripes, yet after trying both of those options I wasn’t quite satisfied. Since I liked the look of the mini skirt however, I thought that a black version would make for a  better contrast; and after trying it on I was instantly sold! Having a darker piece on the bottom really allowed the top to stand out while still adding balance to the overall look. In efforts to keep things streamlined and sleek, I chose to incorporate my new pair of black flatform sandals for casual touch. I also want to point out that these may be the most comfortable pair of shoes I own to date! Though I loved the look as is, I definitely wanted to add a few accessories to emphasize the Spring/Summer vibe I was going for. It took me quite awhile to jump on the straw bag trend because frankly, aside from being cute in photos, I couldn’t justify them as a practical investment. That being said, when I came across this round version and saw the intricate detailing, I figured it was finally time to get on board. Since I had the beach element down, I also decided to add a pair of black chandelier earrings for some unexpected sparkle. Lastly, on the day of my shoot, I completed the look with a pair of  geometric sunnies and I couldn’t have been happier! I’m a HUGE fan of how this look came together and know for a fact I’ll be wearing it again, as well as the pieces individually, for as long as the weather will allow. Let me know your favorite item from this look in the comments below. Until next time!

We have officially made it into Spring, which also means that it is my brand’s 3rd year anniversary! To be honest, it truly is amazing to see how far I’ve come with my content and the connections I’ve made within the blogging industry. While this is definitely a milestone for me, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t also nerve racking as well, considering I still have quite a ways to go before I reach my personal goals. That being said, I have so much planned for this year and I can’t wait to showcase it to you all within the upcoming months! I truly appreciate all of your support and hope that you will continue on this style journey with me– now on to the outfit! Going into preparation for this look I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for (per usual), however I was leaning towards a dress of some sort and possibly something black, as I’ve been gravitating towards color quite a bit recently. The first thing I purchased for this look was actually a pair of retro inspired sunglasses that have been heavily trending since last year. I love when fashion pays homage to the styles of previous decades, and these chic micro frames were right up my alley! Unfortunately, this particular shopping trip was not a quick one and towards the end I became nervous that I wouldn’t find anything to pull together. After a few deep breaths however, and a pep talk from my Dad, I came across a unique item that was definitely not on my radar. This particular midi skirt was the perfect versatile layering piece for the upcoming season and an overall gem! The dual end zipper that allowed for a customizable slit as well as the wide straps and bodycon fit, completely changed my outlook on this ensemble and left me excited to see what else I could find. Because I wanted to keep this frock as the focal point, I decided on casual sneakers to offset the form-fitting piece. Simplicity won again when searching for a top, as I decided on a ribbed mock neck, with contrasting yellow trim. To intensify that pop of color, I grabbed a mustard clutch to accentuate the details on the knit and tie the look together. In my opinion, this was the perfect outfit to kick off the Spring and I look forward to seeing what else I will come up with once the weather is on our side. Until next time!
