On what felt like the hottest day of the year thus far, I shot this look and though I was sweating throughout the entire process, it was definitely worth it in the end! I personally have a love/hate relationship with styling during the Summer months. At a certain point, even the simplest outfits become too hot and basking in the AC from the comfort of your own home seems like the best option. That being said, life is for the living and on days when I do have plans, I’ve learned to embrace the “less is more” approach. On these sweltering days, I like to stick to one focal piece (jumpsuit, dress, romper, etc.) that will serve as the foundation for the entire look. As my slip dress collection continues to expand, I couldn’t resist highlighting this gorgeous seafoam frock I recently purchased. Aside from the color, what caught my attention most was the halter style which provided the most flattering backless detail. I pride myself on cultivating a versatile wardrobe that consists of pieces that can adapt to a variety of settings and this dress absolutely fits the bill! Whether paired with flat slides at a backyard barbeque or strappy heeled sandals at a wedding, this garment can easily take you from day to night! For accessories, I wanted to keep it classic yet bold, so adding touches of black with my bag, shoes, earrings, and sunglasses allowed for the perfect subtle contrast. All in all, this is an ensemble I look forward to recreating as the season progresses, and as we move into the cooler months (with the addition of a few layers of course, lol). Satin and silk scarves have been quietly leading the pack as one of the most popular Spring/Summer trends. Aside from adding delicate elements to any ensemble, I also love that they can be worn in a variety of ways. Whether in the form of accessories, or eye-catching tops, these printed pieces are definitely sticking around for the long haul! Check out the options I’ve rounded up below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Until next time!

Have you ever worn an outfit that literally made you feel like the coolest person in the room? Well, this was that look for me! I am definitely no stranger to jumpsuits, but this time I wanted to try and expand my styling capabilities. As we all know, one-pieces like these are basically all-encompassing outfits so it’s really the accessories that are relied upon to make the statement. Since we are finally getting a glimpse of Summer weather, I was excited about the reality of not having to layer a t-shirt or turtleneck under this garment. To highlight the deep v-neck design on both front and back, I did however throw on a racerback lace bralette for a touch of feminine flare. Recently, I’ve noticed the incorporation of silk/satin scarves becoming increasingly popular as accent pieces for various ensembles. Whether worn in one’s hair, on a bag, or as a necktie, this trend appears to be sticking around this season. When I came across this vibrant red printed option, I knew it would be the perfect eye-catching element to add to this look; so needless to say, I went with the latter option in regards to styling.  For footwear, while I do love my heels, I chose to keep it casually classic with my AF1s which ended up complimenting the slightly cropped hem of the jumpsuit in the best way; if I do say so myself. There really is nothing like breaking out a fresh pair of white sneakers on a bright Summer day and I look forward to wearing mine as much as possible this year! Finally, to complete the ensemble, I wanted to include a piece that I had been holding onto for months! This shearling fanny pack solidified my 90s athleisure vision and made me feel like heading to every Kith and sneaker store in Soho, lol (jokes, but you get the idea)! All in all, I loved how this look touched on so many style genres and still left me feeling comfortable, cute, and effortless. I’ve probably never put an outfit together faster, that I liked as much as this one! I purchased the boots first and had been waiting for the perfect time to style them. While I wasn’t set on a specific direction, I knew that I wanted to style them in a contrasting way (per usual) against more feminine pieces. What initially caught my attention, was the white piping along a seam of the shoe, as well as the bright blue tab that added an unexpected pop of color. To highlight the stark accent detail, I had pretty much come to the realization that a white frilly dress of some kind was exactly what I needed. Turns out, when it was actually time to do my shopping, I was feeling tremendously under the weather; thus, I made the executive decision to pick one store and not leave until I found my entire look. Now, I’m sure this sounds a bit crazy and overwhelming– IT WAS! I had no idea what I was walking into and hadn’t done any previous online research to see if the store I selected even had pieces that fit my vision; turns out, they did not. At this point it was crunch time so after leaving the fitting room line and putting back a cream-colored dress that I wasn’t very fond of to begin with, I began brainstorming a new plan. At that moment I remembered I had seen a sheer white tunic a few weeks prior, so I quickly located it as soon as possible. By this point, I was starting to get excited because although I had to forgo the frock idea, I was still able to pick up a garment that had the dainty feel I was looking for. From this point, things were much easier as I just needed to find pieces to wear underneath this see-through number. After taking a few more laps around the store, I came across a satin bralette and a table full of denim shorts. Initially, I was leaning towards the obvious choice (which was black), however I decided on the grey distressed version as they were softer and didn’t take away from harsh contrast that the patent booties brought to the look. Lastly, I felt like a bag was needed since I didn’t see any jewelry that really fit the theme of my ensemble. Unfortunately, this was also a bit of a challenge because most of the accessories either didn’t have silver hardware to match the metal accent on the heel of my shoes or were just completely inconsistent with the style genre. Finally, I came across a bright yellowish-lime green cross-body that seemed perfect, yet slightly random at the same time. Though very different in color, it appeared to be the same tone as the blue on my boots which complimented them quite nicely. Overall this look, though rushed, turned out to be one of my favorites for the season! I challenge all of you to try and style an entire outfit from just one store of your choosing, without using any of the pre-styled mannequins for reference (just for fun of course). Until next time!

It’s now March and though time seems to be flying, I couldn’t be more excited that Spring is right around the corner. In honor of the upcoming season, I decided to round up a few trends that I think we’ll be seeing quite a bit of this year. While slip dresses seemed to be the catalyst for the satin trend and are still wildly popular, skirts as well as blouses are easily rivaling the frocks, and I don’t think we’ll be seeing silky fabrics disappearing any time soon! With bold saturated color seeming to be a trend in itself, its no surprise that it’s made it’s way to workwear. Bright colored suits and co-ords are definitely something I personally look forward to seeing more of this year and I’m sure my collection will grow because of it! An unexpected shade that has really made it’s mark on the runway and on fashionistas everywhere has been “pistachio.” I personally don’t own many items in the green family, but this particular hue is so versatile whether paired with neutral earth tones or bold prints, I’m definitely intrigued and excited to give it a try. Lastly, a trend that sparked earlier in the Winter season and I think will continue to flourish is boiler suits. It’s an easy all-in-one outfit and with the right accessories can easily be elevated or worn casually to perfection. Let me know in the comments which trend is your favorite or if there’s one you’ve seen that I did not mention. Until next time!

As much as I love the holiday season, I find that sometimes the more lowkey celebrations end up being the best and most memorable. For instance, living in a major city, I find that there is so much hype that comes with preparing for Christmas and New Years that sometimes it can just be an overpriced, under-whelming experience. That being said, I decided to scale things back and style a look perfectly fit for a house party or any type of otherwise “mild” festivities. This year in particular, turtlenecks have really become a staple in my wardrobe so I couldn’t head into 2019 without showcasing this neon green number. I’ve honestly been sitting on this piece for a while as I wasn’t sure if it was too trendy, or if I could pull it off without looking like I was trying too hard. Per usual, I just followed my gut and created a look that I felt comfortable and confident in (which is all that really matters). I recently went to a sample sale and I don’t know about you guys, but for me, those can be some of the most overwhelming environments imaginable. Though I love finding a good deal, the time and effort it takes to sift through the racks while racing to find the “best” pieces before someone else can come and snatch them from your hands, really adds a pressure that I could live without. All in all I survived, and ended up leaving with a chic pair of high-waisted kick flare jeans featuring a 6 button closure and contrast white stitching. Because I wasn’t working with the traditional holiday colors, I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to really bring out that festive undertone. Another trend I’ve been experimenting with a lot more this season is socks paired with heels. I really find this to be such a cute and subtle accent that can easily bring interest to a look that is simple or plain. Funny enough, I didn’t even realize that the socks I decided to wear coordinated perfectly with the white buttons on my trousers. I chose to layer them under a pair of satin heeled sandals which I felt highlighted the sleekness of the look, while the bow detail tied in the overall holiday theme. Lastly, I came across an iridescent beaded bag that I didn’t even know I needed, but totally helped bring all of the elements of my outfit together in the most beautiful way. The variety of colors in this tiny accessory helped to compliment the boldness of my top, while also playing off of the shiny metallic texture of the socks. For the most part I’m definitely planning on keeping things casual this year (though anything can happen, lol). Comment below if you enjoy elaborate holiday celebrations or smaller, more understated gatherings. Happy holidays to you all, & until next time!

For this collaboration with Who What Wear, I was challenged to style one article of clothing 3 different ways. Though excited, as this isn’t something I typically showcase on my blog, I was also a bit nervous not because I felt incapable but because I wasn’t choosing the item myself. That being said, I was so relieved to see that the item chosen for me was right up my alley and a wardrobe staple that I could easily style in a variety of ways. This double-breasted, pin striped blazer is the perfect Fall essential for layering over transitional pieces and adding a more tailored element to any ensemble. For my first look, I decided to keep things very chic and sleek by pairing it with a turtleneck that I layered under a satin camisole, along with black skinnys and a pair of minimal black pumps. To me, this look gave more of a business casual vibe, or “boss babe” if you will. Overall, I loved the way this look turned out and it definitely made me feel strong and confident!

I would say that my second look is for the more casual & cool girls out there. Putting this outfit together was extremely effortless and I think it showed in the way the pieces complimented each other. I chose to do a bit of print-mixing and found the perfect red, leopard print frock to do so. To keep things easy, I threw on some sneakers and a pair of mesh socks for a cute unexpected detail and was out the door. In efforts to add a few more accessories, I grabbed my black cross-body bag with silver hardware and cat-eye frames, which I definitely think helped play off of the edgy vibe without being too overpowering.

Last but certainly not least, I decided to end with a trendy street-style look. As we are well into the Autumn season, I felt like I couldn’t finish this collaboration without incorporating a bit of corduroy. Luckily, I was able to find the most amazing flared trousers which made all of my 70’s dreams come true. To keep them as the focal point of the look, I paired the pants with a simple white t-shirt and added a some gold layered necklaces which I’ve been absolutely obsessed with lately. After throwing on my black booties, I completed this look with a dark vampy lip and draped the blazer over my shoulders for a final touch.  Personally, I loved all of these looks for different reasons and I feel like they reflected the versatility of my everyday style in the best way. Let me know in the comments which outfit was your favorite and if you would’ve styled this blazer in a way that I didn’t think of. Until next time!

I typically put a lot of thought into my locations in efforts to make sure that they really add a level of cohesiveness to the overall photo shoot. On this particular day, I honestly wasn’t feeling my best and felt that my look was somewhat lacking. In efforts to boost my own moral and add interest to the ensemble, the first thing that came to mind was a flower stand. Ironically, in the 3 and a half years that I’ve been blogging and with 99.9% of my shoots being in NYC, I’ve somehow never managed to use this type of setting as a backdrop– but I’m sure glad I finally did! For this look, I decided to go with a color-blocking theme which was surprisingly pretty unintentional. During this shopping trip I wasn’t really sure which direction I wanted to go in so I just ended up grabbing a bunch of pieces that caught my eye and ran to the dressing room. By the time I got there, I had about 7 pairs of trousers and 2 tops. I quickly realized that this pale blue option was my favorite and kept it on as I continued to try on the pants. It actually caught me off guard when I saw this pairing in the mirror as I didn’t expect these hues to go together, but somehow (at least in my eyes) they complimented each other pretty well. At this point, I was a bit stumped on footwear options as I didn’t have anything that exactly matched either piece, and I felt like a neutral like black or white would’ve simply dulled down the entire outfit. That said, on a another spontaneous shopping expedition, I stumbled upon a pair of hot pink satin pumps and instantly fell in love! Though beyond excited about my purchase, even more so because the shoes were on sale, I was still hesitant about whether or not they would look good with my ensemble. Luckily, everything worked out and the heels provided the extra pop I was looking for without clashing with the other colors. To complete the look, I decided to add one more funky twist and threw on my tortoise shell eyeglasses. Being that animal prints can be worn as a neutral, these frames were perfect for adding another unexpected element, while still tying everything together seamlessly. By the time we were done shooting, I was definitely pleased with how this look turned out and would absolutely consider using more floral arrangements in the future! Let me know in the comments your favorite piece from this outfit and if you would’ve styled anything differently. Until next time!

As we are quickly approaching the final days of Summer, getting dressed can become tricky when it comes to styling looks appropriate for the constantly fluctuating temperatures. To alleviate this stress and still look put together, layering has proven to be the most popular solution; and for this look I did just that! It’s so funny to see trends from my childhood and other decades past continuously resurfacing in 2018. For instance, this satin ruched slip dress pays direct homage to 90’s fashion. Recently, I’ve seen a lot of frocks like this one styled under blazers, and though I do like that look, I wanted to create an even more toned down effortless ensemble. I found a cropped white hoodie and while it may be too warm for it now, the juxtaposition of styles really made me that much more excited for the Fall. While I wouldn’t generally pair these two fabrics together, I felt that they created an interesting silhouette and seamlessly brought both masculine and feminine elements to the overall look. The simple structure of the sweatshirt and flowy-ness of the dress made for great foundational pieces but I still needed a few accessories to tie everything together. I could’ve easily thrown on a pair of sneakers to complete this outfit, but I wanted to bring a bit more elevation and interest. To my surprise, I stumbled upon a pair of multicolored pumps that had a very eye-catching firework-like design. At this point the look was nearly complete but I felt there was still room for a bit of edge. Belt bags and fanny packs have also made their way back from the 80s and I am a huge fan of the hands-free alternative. After finding one that I felt suited this ensemble best, I was ready to take on the world! During these transitional times of year, I love pairing minimal garments that can easily be layered and transformed into a variety of looks throughout the day. For example, if wanted to ditch the hoodie, add a light denim jacket, a cute pair of mules, & a clutch I would be ready for a casual happy hour in no time—and this my friends is the beauty of styling basics. Let me know in the comments below if you’re excited for Fall and how you plan on tackling your looks for the upcoming seasons. Until next time!

As excited as I am for the Fall season, I can’t help but feel the urge to get in my last few summer-y looks before I literally do not have the option. With the mindset of creating more “transitional” outfits, I gravitated towards these minimal satin heeled sandals that I’ve been eyeing for months. I know what you’re thinking, “they’re so bright!” True indeed, however, orange hues are very prominent during the autumn and these beauties in particular are absolutely perfect for adding a pop of color to any neutral or denim looks that I tend to gravitate towards as the temperatures begin to drop. Being that these shoes were definitely the focal point of this look, I continued to build from the ground up. I must say that the association of floral prints only being acceptable during the Spring and Summer months, is definitely a thing of the past. Year-round florals have been a trend for the last few seasons and I’m certainly willing to embrace it! I loved the contrast of my tangerine colored footwear, against the cool tones of this dress. Though some may consider it bold, I felt that the two pieces provided a nice balance for each other which stabilized the entire look. For accessories, I decided to do something I haven’t done in a while and that was style this look with a bag. My navy blue monogrammed cross-body was definitely the perfect element needed to complete this ensemble and I was quite pleased with the final result. I love outfits like this because while each piece can work seamlessly together, they can also stand on their own and add a completely different vibe when paired with other items. Whether it be a leather jacket, sneakers, or a funky pair of jeans, I love the versatility of clothing and the endless ways to mix and match. Let me know in the comments below if you are excited for the change in season or if you’re not quite done with Summer yet. Until next time!
