The countdown until Spring has officially begun and while I have no desire to purchase any more “cold weather” pieces, there always seems to be a garment that blurs the lines in the most irresistible way. During transitional seasons, at times it can be difficult getting dressed on a daily basis, as the weather can fluctuate dramatically throughout the day. That said, let’s rewind a bit. About a month ago my Mom came to visit me and during our bonding time it’s natural for us to do a bit of eating and of course, shopping. On this particular day, we managed to stumble into the DVF showroom in the Meatpacking District here in NYC, and there it was. The most amazingly vibrant coat I had ever seen! This wool number featured contrasting satin panels and a chic snap closure; SIDEBAR, it was also way out of my price range! I didn’t leave the store feeling discouraged however, as I knew that I would keep a close eye on it in case it ever went on sale. Long story short it did, and that is how our love affair began, LOL! My point is, while I didn’t necessarily “need” another coat, I was able to find a quality statement piece in a fun color that I could easily wear into the upcoming season while remaining on trend. Initially I figured I would wear this with jeans and keep my look fairly casual, but at the last minute I was able to find a pair of nude leather leggings I had been eyeing for a few weeks. While I was unsure about the color against my skin tone at first, after trying them on, I was sold! To my surprise, I also got lucky and found a pair of mules in almost the exact same color that I was determined to get my hands on in time for Summer, but had recently sold out online. As a bit of a wild card, I threw on a sheer floral top and my cat-eye tortoise sunglasses to coordinate with the other Earth tones. Yet again, I found myself in an ensemble that made me want to hop on the first direct flight to Paris and strut down the concrete runways with a baguette in hand. Comment below if you still find yourself gravitating towards outerwear and sweaters even though we’re moving into warmer temperatures. Until next time!

I’m a full supporter of stepping outside of your comfort zone when it comes to personal style and I kid you not, this look literally almost made me want to re-do my ENTIRE wardrobe. I am utterly OBSESSED with how this look came out and slightly surprised that I was able to pull it off so well. A lot of the international girls I follow rock this type of “cool girl” look. To me, it’s a style that screams “I can hang with the boys, and still be one of the most stylish girls in the room.” I’ve always admired the casual yet effortless confidence that always seems to come with this type of ensemble and it wasn’t until now that I’ve been able to try it out for myself. In all honesty, it wasn’t even my intention to style an outfit like this, it just kind of…happened. I had been wanting to style a jumpsuit on my blog for what feels like months and for some reason, I wasn’t finding anything that really sparked my interest. During my most recent shopping trip, however, my luck seemed to change. This amazing one-piece features a cut out detail, d-ring belt, and contrasting white stitching that was so unique to anything currently in my closet, I knew I had to have it. As this was obviously the showstopper of the look, I kept the surrounding items simple while still playing off of the jumpsuit’s casual edge. I’ve been loving thin knits this season especially when it comes to layering, and this nude option was the perfect addition to this outfit as well as an all around wardrobe staple. To my surprise, I was also able to find a bag that almost perfectly matched my top and helped tie all of the details together. For shoes, it was a no-brainer that I would be wearing sneakers as I couldn’t possibly see this look being as cool with any other type of footwear. That being said, I decided to rock my classic “Superstars” which seemed to perfectly describe how I felt! To finish off the look, I added a bold red lip and some rosey tinted frames for an extra pop of color. I know I say this often, but I’m going to officially go on record to say that THIS is my favorite look of 2017! I felt like this ensemble pulled out a side of my personality I didn’t know was there and it was honestly refreshing as well as exciting. It’s funny how sometimes you don’t realize how stuck in a rut you are with your style until you do something completely different. What I loved the most about this outfit was, as “out of the box” as it was, I still felt like Me. This look ignited a fire within my creativity and I definitely plan on experimenting with more outfits in the near future! I really hope you guys enjoyed this look and stay tuned for more holiday posts coming soon. Until next time!

I’ve always admired the chicness that comes with styling a monochrome look, however up until this point I haven’t had the best luck pulling it off or finding a color that would be fitting for my style. That being said, after a bit of intense retail therapy, everything seemed to “Fall” into place. During this time of year, dark tones such as burgundy, wine, cranberry, and maroon annually leave a lasting impression among retailers everywhere so it wasn’t particularly hard to find pieces that would work for this ensemble. The first item I fell in love with were these coated denim trousers that honestly fit like a dream! I’m a huge fan of mixing textures within my looks so it was no surprise that I was instantly drawn to these pants and definitely plan to get my full wear out of them over the next few months. At this point I was beginning to think about forfeiting my original idea and just style a look that tailored more towards color-blocking, and then I saw it. This mock-neck sweater literally matched my jeans perfectly and created a timeless silhouette that pulled this look together in the most effortless way. While I could’ve continued with matching accessories, I wouldn’t be true to myself if there wasn’t at least a little bit of contrast. For shoes, I decided on a pair of nude suede pumps that in my opinion really made the rich color of the overall outfit pop. Though I didn’t choose a layer of outerwear to style, I grabbed an old scarf and used it as a shawl for an extra bit of dimension. I finished off the look with my favorite ombre aviators and was ready to go! This look came together better than I had anticipated and will definitely remain a trend that I will be revisiting in the future. Comment your thoughts on monochrome and Autumnal looks, and don’t forget to share this post if you’d like. Until next time!

This look is easily in my top 5 blog posts of all time. Why, you may ask– because it came together so unexpectedly and ended up being the most perfect combination! I purchased this top on a separate occasion from the bottom two pieces and was hesitant at first to even leave the store with it. The deconstructed button down shirt is a wildly popular and trendy piece; and while I am a huge fan, I’ve been trying to train myself towards only investing in pieces that I know I will get longevity out of. That being said, I obviously don’t have much self-control because it didn’t take much convincing for me to realize that I “needed” this item. After getting the piece home I immediately started brainstorming outfit ideas and was leaning towards pairing it with what I thought would be the most effortless option…DENIM. For some reason though, I ended up putting the idea aside and continued planning other looks. During another shopping trip a few weeks later, I ended up scoring this amazing mini skirt, heels, and a few other gems. At this point, I’ve honestly lost count of how many minis I actually own but being on the shorter side, I figured I could never have too many (lol). Also, for more seasonal purposes, I thought the khaki fabric made this particular skirt a great transitional piece as we are moving into the Fall. Believe it or not, I was on the hunt for a bag when I came across these gorgeous heels and it only took me about 20 seconds to spot them, try them on, and realize they were on sale before making my purchase and being happily on my way. To be completely honest, I had 3 separate outfits planned for each of these pieces up until the night before my shoot. It was only when I began modeling my new items for my roommate (it’s our ritual, don’t judge lol) that I got the idea to try everything on together and she and I both confirmed that it was “the one.” In life, outside of just fashion and blogging, it always seems like the best outcomes are products of unplanned situations. For me, this was yet another example of why I need to learn to just let go sometimes and stop overthinking everything…however, I am still a work in progress, lol. Until next time!

Have you ever styled and wore an outfit that you felt was so perfect, nothing could affect your mood for the entire day? Well, that is exactly how I felt the beautiful morning that we shot this look! I am regularly shopping for new pieces to showcase on my blog and during one of my more impromptu trips, I came across these bleach dipped jeans. To be honest, I was a bit unsure about them at first as I didn’t know how much wear I would realistically get out of them. That said, after a few at home try-ons and a second trip to exchange them for the correct size, I had fallen completely in love! I may go on record to say that these are probably the chic-est pair of jeans I own. From the straight fit, to the raw hem and unique eye-catching details, there are endless possibilities with these denim beauties and I can’t wait to wear them throughout the Spring and Summer months. While I was off to a good start with my bottom piece, I knew that trousers this good needed a special top to pull the look together. I had been eyeing this blouse online for a few weeks and watched it go in and out of stock several times before taking the plunge. For me, when I decide to splurge on pricier garments they have to meet the following criteria: fit, fabric, and versatility. There’s nothing wrong with spending a little extra on an item but it’s important to make sure that you are getting your money’s worth and that the construction of the piece is in fact worth the inflated price point. Seeing as how I really wanted to make sure that this was the best top to compliment my jeans, I did something I rarely do and tried on both pieces together in the dressing room. While I hate the hassle of trying things on, I loved the instant gratification of knowing that I had two amazing pieces that looked great together and could easily mesh with the items already in my wardrobe. In efforts to keep the look light and fresh, I stayed away from black accessories and opted for nude heels along with my navy cross-body bag. To finish off the look, I threw on my gold aviator frames complimented by a bright orange lip and was ready to enjoy the day. There’s nothing much left to say about this look except for the fact that I am just as obsessed with it now as the day I wore it! If you like this look and you’re excited that it finally feels like Spring, leave a comment below. Until next time!

Truthfully, I haven’t owned a matching sweatsuit since the early 2000’s and if anyone had told me that I would be wearing one in 2017 a few year’s ago, I probably would’ve laughed in their face. As most trends do however, this is another one that has circled back around and into my current wardrobe. Over the last few years joggers and hoodies have become increasingly popular in regards to the more “cozy” street style look; so I suppose it was only a matter of time before matching sets arrived on the scene as well. I bought this particular co-ord set for NYFW and it was both practical for the crappy weather, and surprisingly one of my favorite looks. Aside from being ridiculously warm and comfortable, the chic off-the-shoulder detail of the sweater and lace up trousers with tapered cuffed pant legs, made for the perfect statement but effortless look. The only thing I actually changed when styling this look that differed from what I actually wore during fashion week was my outerwear. Luckily, I shot this on a beautiful 60-degree day which prompted me to make this look a little more Spring appropriate. I opted for my Dad’s authentic Marine Corps jacket and absolutely loved the extra edge and interest that the camo print added to this outfit. As this was such a casual look, I didn’t find it necessary to grab a bag however I did throw on my clear aviator frames to accessorize. In my opinion, this is one of those looks that can easily allow you to feel like the coolest girl in the room no matter what environment you end up in. I have also tried styling this sweatsuit with other footwear options including loafers and sneakers and I loved it just as much! I look forward to getting a lot of wear out of this ensemble and mixing up the pieces individually for other versatile looks. Let me know your opinion of sweatsuits in the comments below; until next time!

It’s no secret that I love having elements of contrast in my outfits and this look was no different. While I chose to stick with a very feminine, blush and nude color palette, the pieces themselves are quite different. The first item that caught my attention was this beautifully structured, accordion, midi skirt. I was mostly intrigued because upon first glance it appears to be a very dainty and “girly” piece, but it’s texture is surprisingly that of a more rigid fabric (quite similar to how I think  of myself lol). Next, I was on the hunt for a top! I wanted to find something that meshed well with the skirt, but at the same time wasn’t so harsh to the point where it determined the color of my accessories; needless to say, this light peachy/cream blouse was perfect. Aside from the color, the lace detail on the sleeves brought a soft and elegant detail that nicely complimented the bottom half of the look. Because I ended up with a fairly monochrome ensemble, I had a lot of different ways I could have finished off this look; but I chose to end it subtly with nude heels and a matching cross-body bag. I am a huge fan of styling simple looks that require minimal effort, but have eye-catching detail, so that the clothes and the person embodying them constantly make a statement. I’d be lying if I said this look wasn’t yet another favorite…Until next time!

One of the biggest reoccurring trends that have been really making a huge statement in fashion lately, has been the 70s. It began with bohemian chic bold prints and flowwy fabrics, which then led to heavier pieces like flared, bell-bottom jeans and trousers. Now, it looks like the next trend in line coming out of this influential decade is the bell sleeve. I’ve seen this popular detail accented on a variety of garments and in styles ranging from slight and subtle to theatrically dramatic. I decided to try out this out for myself and have quickly become a fan! I love the bold sleeves on this minimally chic top, and how it brings so much life, fun, and personality to this fairly simple look. On another note, can we just take a moment to appreciate the effortlessly gorgeous combination of denim and nude? I’ve stated before that I am currently focused on building my wardrobe with classic pieces that can easily speak for themselves, and this top fell right into place. I truly think this is the happiest I’ve been with my personal style and I’m glad I get to share this evolution with you all! To complete the look, I grabbed a nude crossbody bag (since I’m desperately trying to stray away from black) and added a red lip for a fun pop of color. There’s really not much more I have to say about this ensemble except that even by the end of the night, I wasn’t ready to take it off! Until next time friends!

This Spring/Summer, I have decided to commit to the color blush. To be honest, I kind of surprised myself when I came to this realization because I am a very anti-pink type of girl. However, there’s something about this soft nude-ish hue that I really can’t get enough of, and I’m proud to say it! Below are some of the pieces that have stood out to me lately. Happy shopping! I am truly a fan of sheer details on garments, because in my opinion, they seem to add a bit of mystery and sexiness without being too blatant and “in your face.” With spring right around the corner, I have been looking forward to breaking out my lighter pieces and showing a bit of skin. Below are a few pieces that I would definitely rock into the warmer seasons, so check them out if you’d like! (Don’t forget to click the images below to shop my picks!)
