The hotter it gets, the simpler I want my outfits to be. When shopping in preparation for this shoot, I really didn’t know what I was looking for, however I was certain that I wanted to stay away from prints. After trying on a few pieces, this bold tomato colored midi dress was the unanimous winner! Aside from the stunning color, I loved how simple and elegant this dress was without being too showy. To me, this was the perfect “I have nothing to wear” garment– one of those items that you can throw on with a few accessories, and instantly look put together. Because I wanted to apply the overall effortless and minimal vibe of the dress to the entire look, I chose simple pieces to pair it with. I’ve recently been seeing these cross-body bags with gold ring handles almost everywhere but I wanted to wait until I found the one that best suited my personal wardrobe before hopping on the trend; and it was well worth it! Aside from going with absolutely everything, this bag provides a chic edge to any outfit it is styled with. For shoes, I decided to wear my nude and black block-heeled sandals, which I felt nicely tied all elements of the look together without creating too harsh of a contrast. I was honestly very pleased with how this look turned out and feel like I may want to add a few more dresses in this style to my collection. After all, there’s nothing like feeling easy, breezy, and beautiful on a sunny Summer day. Until next time!

I wore this look to a networking event a few weeks ago and loved it so much that I couldn’t help but devote an entire blog post to it. For me, this was the perfect outfit for the occasion because it was feminine, classic, flirty, and just all around perfect for Spring. Because the weather can still be a bit unexpected this time of  year, layering is always a safe bet. It also allows you to add dimension to your look while still remaining on trend and chic. I purchased this dress last summer and thought it served as a great contrasting piece to the smart white button up I paired it with. While I’m not the biggest “floral” girl, I tend to gravitate towards prints that contain darker base colors as they are easier to style. The great thing about this transitional period, is that you can make use of your entire wardrobe by mixing and matching pieces from various seasons. Since I was working with such a bold print, I kept my accessories very minimal and chose a black caged heel for a bit of edge. I also opted for a nude colored bag to keep the look light and soft when accenting the floral design. Overall, I was very pleased with how this look turned out and think it’s fitting for many different occasions regardless of what the attire calls for. Dresses are probably one of the easiest pieces you can style, but it never hurts to add an extra layer that will allow you stand out from the crowd and make a few heads turn. Until next time!

Colorful jeans were a pretty huge trend in the early 2000’s and I can distinctly recall my closet becoming a rainbow of denim, especially during my high school years. Once again however, we are seeing yet another moment in fashion history resurface and fall right back into our wardrobes. Since last year, you may have noticed that yellow has become a very popular statement color, but it’s fellow primary hue, red, isn’t far behind. I never would’ve guessed that I’d find myself gravitating towards a pair of bright red trousers, but I couldn’t resist these fiery beauties. Recently, I feel like I’ve been on a straight leg raw-edge denim binge, so it didn’t take much convincing for me to realize that I needed yet another pair. During the same weekend that I purchased these pants, I stumbled upon these gorgeous black and white buckled heels. It’s so funny sometimes how you can go into a store knowing exactly what you came for, and walk out with something totally different. That said, I personally feel like I made an even better decision and was thrilled when I saw how amazing these pieces looked together. When searching for a top however, I found myself at a standstill. I was completely torn with the style and direction I wanted to go in, so to make things easy I decided on a more “vintage” item that I hold very dear to my heart. I bought this Jimmy Hendrix tee during my first trip to LA when I was only 16 and it still remains one of my favorite items! Even through all of the trends and fashion “rule book” changes over the years, this t-shirt has always found a way to compliment my style and I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it. To finish off this look I accessorized with a gunmetal rhinestone choker and a white slogan clutch for a bit of lighthearted interest. I loved how this look turned out and I definitely plan on making these red hot jeans a wardrobe staple this season.
