Despite the temperatures steadily rising, there has been no shortage of knit garments rolling out from various designers and retailers. I’ve often given thought as to why this could be considering we usually associate this textile with the colder months. That being said, I personally am a fan of the subtle texture and structure that knitwear provides; especially during a time where most people are wearing more common lightweight fabrics such as chiffon, linen, and chambray. When I initially saw this salmon colored co-ord, I was intrigued by the hue but highly skeptical of the fit. Needless to say, I proceeded to place my order and simply hoped for the best. To my surprise the thin and rather clingy fabric was of good quality, and the pieces were extremely comfortable (not overly constricting in any way). This bright shade of coral made the ensemble perfect for the current season and while I was fairly confident wearing it as is, I decided to layer an oversized blazer on top for added elevation and chicness. For shoes, I almost went with something neutral but at the last minute decided to color-block with lime green mules, which created more of a “watermelon-like” palette. To balance the brighter tones and tie in my muted outerwear piece, I added an iridescent pair of sunnies and chandelier earrings featuring pearl accents. Overall, this outfit is more on the preppy side of what I’m used to and definitely had me considering taking up golfing (LOL!). Jokes aside, I’m excited to wear this look out and about and potentially add similar polo-style sets to my wardrobe collection. Personally, I take pride in adding pieces to my wardrobe that are unique and “on trend,” without being so popular that they are seen on every person or fashion enthusiast walking down the streets of Soho. I’d say that while I do pretty well for myself, I am nowhere near a tax bracket that could afford the most exclusive garments. That being said, I try to be strategic with my shopping and pick up items that are eye-catching when styled, but may not stand out to any and everyone on the hanger. I had gone back and forth about this jacquard jacket for weeks before deciding to officially make it my own. To be honest, there was nothing I didn’t like about it and my hesitation almost made me completely miss out on this absolute stunner! The overall cut, fabric, and floral motif gave it the most elegant yet vintage aesthetic that I knew would bring so much life to any ensemble it was paired with. Because I was working with such a bold article of outerwear, it was imperative that I kept the rest of the outfit toned down; and what’s more simple than a classic white t-shirt and jeans?! In my opinion, these pieces made for the best foundation since I didn’t want to risk clashing in any way. With the clothing portion finalized, I knew I still had some room to play around with accessories! The same day I went to pick up my cropped blazer, I also purchased this stunning croc textured bag which seamlessly coordinated with the darker undertones. For another subtle pop of color, I added my pale yellow mules which highlighted the more vibrant hues. Lastly, I finished off the look with a chunky gold necklace and matching oversized sunglasses. This casual outfit brings me so much joy because it truly embodies the Spring season effortlessly! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

As the Winter season lingers on it has become increasingly difficult to find outdoor locations to shoot where I don’t run the risk of being absolutely freezing. What makes this task even harder, is that I’m slowly introducing more Spring appropriate items and I’m running out of coats to style them with! After some serious contemplation, shooting underground seemed like the perfect loophole to avoid the harsh temperatures and peel back some of the layers that would otherwise completely cover my outfit. Lately, I’ve really been taking account of the basics that seemed to be missing from my wardrobe. For Christmas I purchased a black coat as a gift to myself, and just recently I ordered my first black blazer. I’ve been looking at this hourglass style for over a year, and finally decided to pull the trigger! What initially intrigued me about this piece was that it seemed to be the perfect balance of classic and modern. It’s no secret that blazers are a timeless outerwear staple, but the shape and structure truly make it a standout item regardless of what it is styled with. In the midst of refreshing my closet with some newness, I also bought a gorgeous blouse that I thought would make the perfect statement as we move into warmer temperatures. However, since we’re not quite there, I decided to pair this printed top with some wide-legged faux leather trousers. I absolutely loved this combination because I feel like the overall ensemble displayed complimentary, yet distinct, masculine and feminine elements. To complete the look and incorporate more colors from my shirt, I added a bright yellow satin mule to further accentuate the juxtaposition of dainty and more tailored garments. After reaching for a few pieces of gold jewelry and my aviator frames to accessorize, I was feeling like the ultimate girl boss! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Every now and then I get intrigued by just how versatile my style can be. I truly don’t consider myself as being particularly “girly,” but occasionally I find myself drawn to pieces that are more on the feminine side and I can’t help but filter them into my wardrobe. For instance this dress; it’s simply GORGEOUS! I had honestly never seen such a stunning shade of lavender and though this piece did come off a bit “night-gownish,” I threw caution to the wind and decided to give it a try! I actually purchased this garment during the early Spring season and realized it was either now or next year when I would have the opportunity to wear it again. I feel like I’ve been describing a lot of my looks as “effortless” lately, but with quarantine being our new reality, even the idea of getting dressed has become a process I haven’t felt like putting a lot of thought and time into. For this particular outfit, I figured color-blocking would be an interesting approach to styling such a vibrant frock. I added a pair of pale yellow asymmetric mules and layered with a thin white shirt which provided even more movement and texture on this warm, breezy day. I completed the ensemble with a few silver pieces of jewelry and used a bouquet of flowers that my photographer so unexpectedly brought me as an impromptu accessory, which just so happened to match perfectly! This is definitely a look that can take you from day to night, to the boardwalk and back to the city. Comment below your thoughts on these pieces and if you would consider styling any of them as we head into the next season. Until next time!

One of my favorite things about fashion is the constant reinvention and recycling of trends from the past. With every year, there seems to be a decade piece that really dominates and though we are still quarantined, 2020 has been no exception. With regards to clothing, I would definitely say that this has been the year of the cardigan. Whether you’re drawing styling inspiration from the 60’s or the 90’s, this garment has proven to be a timeless staple that anyone can rock! I was surprised at how influenced I was to reintroduce this piece to my wardrobe, but after coming across this beautiful lilac cable knit with embellished buttons, I couldn’t resist! Because it was so feminine and unlike any item I currently own, I was on a mission to make it fit my personal aesthetic. I decided to wear the cardigan as a top instead of a layering piece, and only buttoned the first fastening to keep it more Summer appropriate. In efforts to add a bit more edge, I threw on a pair of distressed straight-legged jeans and strappy black mules. Accessories were also imperative in finalizing this look, so I continued to play off of the pastel color palette by adding a pale blue bucket bag. Lastly, I added my clear 2000’s inspired sunglasses and my ensemble was complete! Comment below your favorite part of this outfit and whether you’d be interested in giving the cardigan trend a try. Until next time!

My how time flies when you’re doing what you love! Exactly 5 years ago, on the first day of Spring, March 2015, the website for A Styled Mind was launched. At that time I was excited, nervous, and in no way prepared for all that I would learn along this journey. The challenges made for exponential growth, and the frustrations allowed room for me to hone in on my vision while planting the seed for what my platform could become. Seeing the evolution of my personal style, photography, and overall confidence in the fashion/influencer space has truly made me realize the importance of consistency, dedication, and quality work. While it would be impossible for me to try and predict what’s next, I can only hope for more accomplishments and opportunities, while I continue expressing myself through clothing. My mind is full of ideas and I still have tons of different content genres I’d like to expand the ASM brand into; menswear styling, fitness, cooking, and interior design to name a few.

Sooner than later, I’d love to work on building a team to support me in the expansion of my platform. As with any entrepreneurial venture, there are tons of sacrifices that must be made along the way, but with a strong foundation and loyal community, eventually the hard work will pay off and the fruits of your labor will be that much sweeter! Regarding future goals for the next 5 years, I’d love to have a capsule collection with a brand I am personally a fan of, run ASM full time, speak on a variety of panels geared towards the empowerment of women, have a feature in a global fashion magazine, and attend a luxury fashion show in either Paris or Milan. Though I don’t know where or how this journey ends, I am forever grateful for the support, kind words, and interest in my brand since the very beginning! Let’s cheers to 5 more shall we?!

I find suits to be such staple pieces that truly never get the credit they deserve for being one of the most powerful, yet classic looks an individual can wear. Especially for women, they tend to make a chic yet strong statement when worn no matter what the occasion may be. While I do have a few favorites of my own, in a variety of styles, this one was definitely unlike anything in my current wardrobe. The fit itself, would probably make this co-ord the most feminine set I own. From the cropped skinny trousers and double-breasted jacket, I couldn’t help but feel like the baddest girl boss in town! Unlike most separates, suits allow the focus to remain on the accessories since the outfit is essentially complete from the beginning. Because of the eye-catching details, it was imperative that I let the pinstriped garments speak for themselves and not be overshadowed by the bells and whistles. To coordinate with the black button accents, I chose a sleek pair of mules as footwear. In efforts to brighten things up, since I was working with a fairly dark color palette, I didn’t hesitate to grab my baby blue studded bucket bag. It’s no secret that I love a good cross-body and this one in particular added the perfect pop of color to break up the ensemble and add some dimension to the look as a whole. Lastly, a pair of statement earrings never hurt, so I was more than happy to incorporate them and bring a more formal, glam element to the outfit. I loved how this look was the perfect balance of sophistication and edginess. On a more casual day, I wouldn’t hesitate to throw on a crisp pair of white sneakers to really incorporate some sporty elements as well. Let me know in the comments if you prefer more traditional, or classic styles of suits and how you would style them for the Fall. Until next time!

More often than not, there’s usually one specific piece that becomes the catalyst when creating my outfits. In this specific instance it was this fun vinyl tote from Jeff Wan. I was lucky enough to have been selected for this collaboration and though I was excited for the styling, it took me some time to figure out where to start. Based on the style of bag as well as the bold pineapple stamp, I immediately decided to use the beach as my theme and inspiration. I had already had this one-shoulder asymmetric top in my closet and had been meaning to use it in a blog post since the day I brought it home. During my shopping session, I was initially leaning towards a flowy wide-legged pant, but unfortunately could not find anything that suited my vision. After browsing the sale section, I also picked up cream blazer as an addition to my wardrobe staples; with no intention of using it for this particular look. As I arrived at my final store location of the day, these striped shorts caught my attention without hesitation I knew that they would be perfect! They instantly reminded me of those giant beach umbrellas and before I knew it, my look was coming together right before my eyes. Because my bag had brown accents, I decided to incorporate a pair of suede mules in the same color to add a bit of cohesiveness. To elevate the look, I made a last-minute decision to drape the blazer I had purchased over my shoulders, which really helped to provide dimension and a touch of sophistication to the ensemble overall. For jewelry, in efforts to highlight the gold button detail on my sleeve, I added a matching pair of dangling earrings and was ready to roll! This outfit truly gave me all of the chic vacation feels and I am undoubtedly pleased with how it turned out. For my second Macy’s look, I was given a pair of denim shorts to style as my focal piece. With this came excitement as well as a bit of anxiety being that having such a simple item gave me free reign to literally take the look in any direction; but I was up for the challenge! Before even browsing the website, I knew I wanted to dress-up the look with more formal pieces and a blazer was the first thing that came to mind. It didn’t take long before I found this gorgeous printed piece that just screamed, “Summer chic!” The light blue base and abstract yellow floral design really embodied exactly what I was looking for, and ended up being the perfect contrast against the dark-wash denim. With such a bold piece of outerwear, a simple tank top or t-shirt was the only option that made sense to me for layering with this ensemble. Lucky for me, the night before my shoot, I was able to find a ribbed top that perfectly matched a pair of mules I had also purchased and swapped into this look at the last minute. In efforts to accessorize a bit, I thought it would be cool to compliment the gold hardware on my shoes and throw on a pair of clear aviator frames. Personally, while I didn’t think they were a necessity, I appreciated the quirky twist they added to the outfit overall. I was definitely pleased with how this look turned out and loved the versatility of the pieces I paired together. Let me know in the comments if you would’ve styled the shorts in a similar way or gone a completely different route. Until next time!
