To trend or not to trend, that is the question! When it comes to items that seemingly become popular “overnight,” especially within the fashion world, there can be an increased pressure to fully dive-in and indulge. Over the years however, I’ve found that acting on impulse usually results in regret and a little extra thought can go a long way. When it comes to trendy pieces, I try to ask myself 3 questions: “Is this a need or a want? Does this truly represent my personal style? Will I still wear this after the hype dies down?” Now don’t get me wrong, not every decision needs to be this deep or require this much analysis but it can be a starting point. How we represent ourselves through clothing should be fun, experimental, and ever-evolving. That said, if you’re interested in trying something slightly outside of your comfort zone, finding a dupe at a lower price point could be a better alternative until you decide if it’s worth the full commitment. When I saw the explosion of the rosette applique, I went through the same process. I was definitely intrigued, but I wasn’t sure if this detail was really “me” or how much I’d actually wear it in the long run. Thus, I decided to wait it out and in the interim started knocking off other pieces from my wish list that I had been wanting for some time. I don’t need to rehash my love of denim, but I spotted this mini skirt last Summer and unfortunately it sold out before I could get my hands on it. The same was the case with this oversized ivory blazer, so when I saw them both restocked I jumped at the opportunity to finally make them mine. Knowing my intention was to pair these garments together, I just needed the missing link to bring my vision to life! As soon as I saw this textured swimsuit (yes, it’s a swimsuit LOL), I knew it would be perfect and it absolutely lived up to my expectations! With my ensemble nearly complete all there was left to do was accessorize. Since my color palette was fairly neutral, I chose to incorporate a striking pop of green with my footwear and a structured navy bag that had subtle neon piping to match. To compliment the hardware, I added some gold jewelry and my newest rimless frames that I’m utterly obsessed with! In my opinion, this look could not have come together better and I will be styling it again before the season ends. Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

When it comes to shopping, there’s nothing like finding a retailer that provides a “one-stop-shop” experience. From clothing, to accessories, and even health & beauty items, nothing makes me happier than having a seamless shopping experience; and that’s exactly what Revolve provides. I’ve been a consistent customer for awhile now, but things have definitely picked up over the last few years. I love that I can easily shop my favorite brands, while simultaneously being introduced to new ones along the way. They also do a great job of stocking items from a wide price point range. Whether opting for something inexpensive or splurging on a luxury good, this platform has mastered catering to a variety of fashion lovers regardless of their budget!

I was generously given the opportunity to select a few things from the website, which was perfect timing as we’re about to enter fashion month. Not going to lie, I was a bit intimidated by the amount of options I had to choose from. However, after some thorough digging and analyzing the voids in my wardrobe, I slowly but surely narrowed it down to my top picks. One of the pieces that were an instant standout, was this denim maxi skirt. Talk about serving THE DRAMA! This garment was bold, chic, and edgy all in one. I have to say though, upon looking at it and seeing how high the slit was, I was a little concerned about whether it would be “too much” for me; but that didn’t stop me from giving it a try! Upon receiving it, I definitely had to play around with the styling to see what made me the most comfortable, especially since I’m typically not a low-rise kind of girl. That said, I quickly became at ease and completely fell in love! As far as tops go, despite initially trying it on with a black option, I knew that I was pairing the matching shoe with another look and since Summer isn’t quite over yet, I didn’t mind going for a lighter color. Instead of using this as an opportunity to style it with something more toned down, I did the exact opposite and in true maximalist fashion, chose another eye-catching number that I had yet to debut. While this unique construction may be risque to some, in my opinion, it truly embodies the artistic design elements that make fashion so intriguing.

When it came to footwear, my white mules were the obvious choice (another Revolve find). For a minute I was slightly unsure about the bag, but eventually decided on an understated navy option with neon piping. Lastly, I played off of the hardware to tie in my gold jewelry and threw on some cat eye frames as a final touch! This ensemble is definitely in the running for my favorite of 2022 and I cannot wait to showcase these items in a variety of ways. Don’t forget to check out the carousel featuring my Revolve clothing favorites, as well as statement heels located at the bottom of this post! Happy shopping and leave a comment if you also own, or plan to purchase any of my recommendations. Until next time!

As my style evolves, I find myself not only integrating new pieces but also replacing older ones that have served their purpose and/or need to be updated in terms of quality. I had recently been on the hunt for a new faux leather trench that could fulfill my “90’s matrix” fantasy and for whatever reason, I was having trouble finding one that truly spoke to me. That said, it only took one coffee shop date in SOHO to finally find exactly what I was looking for! In my opinion, that’s one of the most amazing things about living in/near a major city; the inspiration! Whether it be art, music, food, or fashion there is so much you can absorb from the moment you leave your door, and that’s something I’ll always appreciate. Luckily it didn’t take long to receive the coat and despite a few minor sizing issues, I was more than satisfied with my purchase! To be honest, I’ve gotten a few pieces in the mail over the last few months (and even last year) that I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to style. For this ensemble however, I’d say it was one of the most low maintenance yet impactful looks I’ve ever put together. Lately, I’ve really been into minimal tops with interesting details, and this knit was no different! I’ve had plenty of crop tops in this style but the overall chunkiness and cut-outs completely sold me, and I knew I had to have it! At this point I was committed to the monochrome theme, and realized I still hadn’t worn this unique pair of wide-legged trousers that have been in my wardrobe for quite some time. What I loved most about the design was the “fold-over” element which made the pants that much more intriguing, while also breaking up the various shades of black. Finally, for footwear, I decided to incorporate a bit of playfulness and ground the outfit with some acid green metallic mules which I could not be more obsessed with! Since I already had so much going on, I decided to forego a bag and complete the look with sleek sunnies and simple stud earrings. Everything about this styling exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be rocking it again sooner than later! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Life is unpredictable. There are periods of ups and downs and moments that will make you question everything you thought you already knew. What I’ve learned over the years is that while there is no way to prepare or plan for everything that is to come, if you stay focused, everything will eventually fall into place. At this point in my life, the time to put my all into creating my desired reality is now and I refuse to miss my opportunity! When styling this look, I didn’t know how much strength and power I would feel. It’s no secret that a suit is a classic garment that is normally structured and often worn with regards to business. That being said, I love the modern takes on tailoring and how even options that have more of a relaxed fit, or use lighter materials such as linen, can still command the same attention. When figuring out what color to pair this khaki set with, it all came down to my bag choice. After waiting MONTHS for this gorgeous leather tote, I knew I had to style it immediately! Recently, I’ve also found myself gravitating towards all/majority black outfits. Why I waited until the hottest month of the year to experiment with this is beyond me, but I have yet to be deterred. It’s almost as if the details on dark items pop more, especially in the Summer, when most people are staying far away from those shades. To complete the ensemble, I layered a cropped t-shirt featuring a tie-waist detail and a simple pair of mules. Another theme I’ve noticed in my wardrobe is my affinity for classic pieces that have unexpected elements to them; and I personally think this particular look conveyed that seamlessly! For one final touch, I added a neutral pair of chandelier earrings and couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. Wearing this, I was absolutely in “deal closing” mode and even more excited to put in that work! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

One of my favorite things about fashion is the constant reinvention and recycling of trends from the past. With every year, there seems to be a decade piece that really dominates and though we are still quarantined, 2020 has been no exception. With regards to clothing, I would definitely say that this has been the year of the cardigan. Whether you’re drawing styling inspiration from the 60’s or the 90’s, this garment has proven to be a timeless staple that anyone can rock! I was surprised at how influenced I was to reintroduce this piece to my wardrobe, but after coming across this beautiful lilac cable knit with embellished buttons, I couldn’t resist! Because it was so feminine and unlike any item I currently own, I was on a mission to make it fit my personal aesthetic. I decided to wear the cardigan as a top instead of a layering piece, and only buttoned the first fastening to keep it more Summer appropriate. In efforts to add a bit more edge, I threw on a pair of distressed straight-legged jeans and strappy black mules. Accessories were also imperative in finalizing this look, so I continued to play off of the pastel color palette by adding a pale blue bucket bag. Lastly, I added my clear 2000’s inspired sunglasses and my ensemble was complete! Comment below your favorite part of this outfit and whether you’d be interested in giving the cardigan trend a try. Until next time!

The countdown until Spring has officially begun and while I have no desire to purchase any more “cold weather” pieces, there always seems to be a garment that blurs the lines in the most irresistible way. During transitional seasons, at times it can be difficult getting dressed on a daily basis, as the weather can fluctuate dramatically throughout the day. That said, let’s rewind a bit. About a month ago my Mom came to visit me and during our bonding time it’s natural for us to do a bit of eating and of course, shopping. On this particular day, we managed to stumble into the DVF showroom in the Meatpacking District here in NYC, and there it was. The most amazingly vibrant coat I had ever seen! This wool number featured contrasting satin panels and a chic snap closure; SIDEBAR, it was also way out of my price range! I didn’t leave the store feeling discouraged however, as I knew that I would keep a close eye on it in case it ever went on sale. Long story short it did, and that is how our love affair began, LOL! My point is, while I didn’t necessarily “need” another coat, I was able to find a quality statement piece in a fun color that I could easily wear into the upcoming season while remaining on trend. Initially I figured I would wear this with jeans and keep my look fairly casual, but at the last minute I was able to find a pair of nude leather leggings I had been eyeing for a few weeks. While I was unsure about the color against my skin tone at first, after trying them on, I was sold! To my surprise, I also got lucky and found a pair of mules in almost the exact same color that I was determined to get my hands on in time for Summer, but had recently sold out online. As a bit of a wild card, I threw on a sheer floral top and my cat-eye tortoise sunglasses to coordinate with the other Earth tones. Yet again, I found myself in an ensemble that made me want to hop on the first direct flight to Paris and strut down the concrete runways with a baguette in hand. Comment below if you still find yourself gravitating towards outerwear and sweaters even though we’re moving into warmer temperatures. Until next time!

It’s so beautiful and refreshing to see everything begin to bloom and take on new life as we move into the warmer seasons; so, it was only right that I capture some of nature’s beauty and feature the gorgeous cherry blossom trees. This is the second look I styled in collaboration with the Eggie brand, and I honestly think it might have been my favorite! When I initially saw this sustainable top on the website I was drawn to it immediately. At the same time, I was also anxious to receive and find out if I could actually pull it off. To my surprise, it completely exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, fit, and overall details. Because it was white however, I was left with plenty of options in terms of what to pair it with (which is not a bad problem to have, might I add). I had recently saw and purchased a pair of cream, paper bag waist, faux leather shorts; and though I was excited to wear them, a part of me felt like maybe it was too soon. That said, I ended up taking my chances and styling the pieces together despite my hesitation. At this point, being that my color palette was so light, I wanted to find a way to even it out with a bit of contrast. I had also bought a pair of black embossed mules and decided to add them to my ensemble which brought a casual, more “daytime-appropriate” vibe. For accessories, I didn’t want to miss out on an opportunity to showcase my new mini wrist-bag; and it couldn’t have been delivered at a more perfect time! The multi-colored stripes really helped to tie in each garment as well as the shoes, to create one cohesive outfit. Lastly, no Spring/Summer look would be complete without a pair of sunglasses, so I grabbed my black cat-eye frames and the look was complete! The overall combination of feminine and edgy pieces is really one of my favorite juxtapositions, as it truly defines my style perfectly and is the foundation of a lot of my looks. Let me know in the comments your favorite part about Spring and until next time!

When styling outfits, I’m definitely a fan of mixing textures and recently satin has become one fabric that I’ve been consistently drawn to. Satin shoes in particular always seem to add a delicate, yet feminine element to any look no matter what they’re paired with. Below I’ve rounded up a few options that have recently caught my eye, so don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks! Until next time!

While I consider my style to be pretty versatile, there are a few pieces that I tend to repeat and can’t seem to get enough of. I’ve never been one to shy away from prints; the most prevalent in my wardrobe probably being florals. I honestly don’t know what it is about a dark floral pattern that always seems to pull me in and immediately want to style whatever item they are featured on. Most commonly, and probably the easiest garments to style would have to be dresses. I don’t think I need to reiterate exactly what makes them one of the most effortless pieces you can wear, but it’s no secret that a floral frock can have you looking put together in a matter of minutes! This one for instance had all the eye-catching elements I would look for when purchasing a focal piece; so much so that I barely had to put in any additional effort to complete the ensemble. The patchwork print, scoop neck, and neutral buttons down the front really made this dress everything I could have asked for and more! The only detail that I was not so keen on was a sash that came tied around the waist. In my opinion, the idea of a belt for this look was totally unnecessary and slightly overkill. Luckily, it was removable so I decided to use it as an extra accent on my bag strap to further compliment the dress. I wanted to keep the Summery feel while still adding a bit of edge, so I felt like this structured wicker and leather cross-body was the best option. I then completed the look with my favorite minimal mules and was out the door! While I do love dressing up, every now and then I like to style easy looks that require minimal thought and easily come together without a lot of fuss. This outfit is the epitome of that and I was absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! I’m also looking forward to styling this dress with thigh high boots and a leather jacket in the Fall, so stay tuned. Until next time!

While we have only just begun to get a true taste of official spring weather, the anticipation has prompted me to think of what other clothing items may be on my summer wardrobe wish list. I’ve definitely been loving suits lately and knew that a light co-ord was exactly what my closet was missing. Luckily for me, retailers are quick to display their collections for the upcoming seasons so it didn’t take long to find exactly what I had envisioned! This neutral colored striped suit was right up my alley in terms of tone, fit, and overall design. The double-breasted blazer allowed for a more masculine structure, while the paper bag trousers provided a trendy yet vintage detail. Being that both pieces are so striking together as well as individually, they can easily be worn with other items I already own, which made me love the suit that much more! To keep the focus on the striped set I chose to keep it fairly simple by layering a cut out ribbed t-shirt under the jacket. At this point I was really enjoying the subtle monochrome vibes I was getting from this look. In efforts to keep everything streamlined, I decided to wear a pair of metallic mules which perfectly added a bit of interest, without overwhelming the ensemble. Finally, to continue playing off of the warm golden tones, I grabbed my round frames for a final touch. Overall, I loved how this look came together despite freezing during the actual photo shoot. The sandy hues definitely made me want to go on vacation and relax in the chicest way! Let me know in the comments below how you feel about summer suits and if they’re something you would rock this year. Until next time!
