Purpose. I chose to take a break from NYFW this season for a number of reasons but mainly to gain clarity on my “Why.” I’ve been going consistently since 2015, and as exciting and glamorous as it may seem, it requires a lot of time, money, and energy that can easily leave you feeling drained and burnt out. I feel like I got to this point last year after coming back from Paris in October, and it took me a lot longer than expected to stabilize and get back into the swing of things. For the first time I really had to take a step back and assess if attending fashion week was beneficial to my long term goals, or if it was just something I was doing out of habit and the need to feel “included.” Despite the anticipated FOMO, I also wanted to challenge myself to see what else I could create to expand & differentiate my content if fashion week wasn’t in the mix. That said, I am happy to report that I made the most of my time off and even developed a few new series that I’ve really been enjoying! I say all this to say, sometimes a pause and reset is necessary to remember why you started in the first place & to ensure you remain on track instead of just going through the motions.

Let’s not get crazy though, just because I wasn’t attending doesn’t mean I didn’t plan on shooting some incredible looks! I’ve always approached these seasons as an opportunity to showcase my style but in the most amplified way. For this particular ensemble, I chose to take a maximalist approach to an otherwise fairly monochrome look. I started with this oxblood patent midi skirt, which I actually bought during my first trip to Paris in 2022, and paired it with a leopard print bodysuit. Because we are still in the midst of Winter, I thought adding this patchwork shearling coat in similar tones would be both eye-catching and functional for the occasion. Though I could’ve grounded the outfit with black accessories, I chose to lean into the warm palette by throwing on a pair of brown croc-embossed boots, and a berry-colored bag. What I loved most about how everything came together, is that each piece shined without competing with the others. Can we also have a moment for the textures?! I honestly have no words, except that this quite possibly might make it to my list of top 2024 outfits…but only time will tell! Comment below your favorite featured item(s) and until next time!

Nothing screams “Fall fashion” like neutral tones and animal prints, so I absolutely couldn’t resist creating a look that gave my personal take on these trends. I also wanted to use this as an opportunity to style my new leather watch band from Daniel Wellington. Upon seeing this stunning accessory on their website, I knew it would make for the perfect arm candy this Autumn/Winter season. Initially I was aiming to create a rather monochrome look, which I feel like I somewhat achieved but with a bit of a twist. The next piece that really helped curate this look for me, were these amazing pumpkin colored culottes. The silver ring zipper detail on them perfectly highlighted the watch and meshed effortlessly. From there, I had a bit of difficulty choosing a shoe but in the end decided on a pair of brown mules which couldn’t have been more perfect for this casual yet chic look. To tie up the bottom half of the outfit, I stumbled across this leopard print clutch which I received as a gift from another purchase and had totally forgot about! This bag allowed me to fuse all of the warm tones I currently had paired together without having any of the pieces clash. In efforts break up the warmth as  Fall annually does, I added a white button down to the mix to give the look a more classic element while still emphasizing the stark face of the time piece. At this point, all there was left to do was  grab my trench coat and head out the door! This ensemble really got me excited for all of the Autumn looks I plan to style this year, so if you have anything in particular you’d like to see leave a comment below! Lastly if you liked the watch that I styled, there will be bundle deals from 11/1-12/31 in addition to my personal 15% off code: ASTYLEDMIND that can be used on Danielwellington.com. Happy shopping!

“April showers bring May flowers,” and much needed sunshine! This time of year is always slightly melancholy for me because the excitement of summer is constantly overshadowed by teases of warm weather and mostly grey skies. Unfortunately, when dressing for this season, light coats and jackets are still pretty mandatory so I decided to incorporate one with this look. It was a no-brainer for me to reach for my trench coat as I’ve basically been wearing it consistently on a daily basis. It has definitely become a staple in my wardrobe, (which I love) because it’s neutral tone doesn’t clash with my brighter Spring pieces and it’s the perfect weight for adding a layer of warmth on breezy days. I wanted to keep this look pretty casual overall, so I thought a muted blush graphic tee and mid-wash jeans would be the perfect combo. Both of these pieces, though fairly simple, provide elements of interest with their trendy details. Cut-out graphic t-shirts have been quite popular since last summer and kick-flare trousers are definitely not going anywhere any time soon. Recently I’ve noticed that I have been been attracted to cream shades, so when I saw these suede heeled sandals I had to have them! At first glance, I instantly began thinking of all of the outfits I could style around them and how they would literally go with everything. (TIP: Light colored footwear is the easiest way to transition a look from  Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer.) To finish off the look, I threw on my aviator sunglasses which subtly complimented the gold hardware on my coat and was out the door! For me, this is the perfect Springtime weekend look and I look forward to styling many more this season. Until next time!

FINALLY!!! My favorite season has arrived in all of its glory! I’m not quite sure what it is about the fall that gets me so excited but it is a constant reoccurrence every year. From the leather jackets, to the chunky knits, and rich colors, I don’t see what not to love! On this particular day, the weather was absolutely perfect. It was just breezy enough to layer up and still walk around with a hot beverage without breaking a sweat. During the cooler months I tend to stick to more neutral colors and tones so breaking out staple pieces like my leather leggings and trench coat was a no-brainer. In my efforts to make this a “smart” look, I decided to put my layering skills to use by pairing my sleeveless long hemmed button up with an ombré sweatshirt, which matched perfectly with my grey metal-tip flats. With the final touches of a simple necklace and small cross-body bag, I was on my way. Whether it’s for the fashion or the pumpkin spice lattes, I can’t get enough of this time of year. Enjoy!

The main idea behind this outfit was minimalism. I wanted to play with neutrals and focus on clean lines and simple pieces. The fact that it was a little cloudy this day actually worked in my favor because it allowed for the clothes to stand out against my overall grey surroundings. I liked that each photo had little to nothing going on in the background and you could really see the juxtaposition of empty space and a single figure. I don’t have too much to say about this post, but I guess that works in this case.
