It’s crazy to believe that we started quarantine towards the end of the colder months, and soon we’ll be facing those frigid temperatures again. When it comes to exercising, I usually prefer to stay confined to indoor spaces. However, with the current circumstances at hand, I find it imperative to make the most of our time outdoors (safely of course) while we still have the opportunity. When Adidas presented me with the offer to review a few pieces from their “Cold.Rdy” collection, I didn’t even hesitate! Aside from the rich, eye-catching color ways, as the name would infer, these garments are strictly designed to protect you from the cold with insulating yet breathable fabrics, ideal for taking on the elements this Fall/Winter. All of the items I selected were also extremely comfortable! The berry-colored leggings fit like a dream and provided just enough support without feeling constricting. They had plenty of stretch and were thick enough to keep out brisk winds during those early morning or late evening walks. I chose to keep my top half neutral with a hooded black jacket featuring mesh detailing for optimum air circulation and plenty of compartments which allowed for a hands-free workout. Lastly, I completed the look with a matching pair of water resistant running shoes. I absolutely loved how each piece in this collection was intentionally created with specific weather conditions in mind; making it not just stylish, but also extremely practical! To be honest, while the upcoming seasons may look extremely bleak to some, I am choosing to stay positive and enjoy the time we have left to engage in some aspects of normalcy, even if it is only at 25%. While staying fit and working out has always been a consistent part of my lifestyle, I’d be lying if I said the current circumstances occurring in our world haven’t amplified it. Being confined to my home more than ever before has really allowed me to lean on working out as a source of both physical and mental stress relief. Because of this, I was absolutely thrilled when I was contacted by one of the most influential athletic brands, Adidas, to collaborate and showcase products from their latest line entitled “Pink Unity.” I was instantly drawn to the name of this collection because “unity” is the very thing we need most in our country at this time. From a fashion perspective, I also loved the vibrant color palette that made each piece a definite showstopper whether walking into the gym for the first time or heading to the park to train. Though there are a variety of styles within this particular range, I really wanted to step outside of my comfort zone of black, white, and grey garments, and select the boldest items that most appealed to me. The first piece that caught my attention were the graphic leggings. Aside from being extremely eye-catching, they are the perfect amount of spandex and softness to keep you feeling supported yet comfortable throughout any exercise you desire. At this point, I was tempted to pair them with one of the darker jackets or sneakers but instead I decided to continue matching that striking “signal pink” shade. The wind-breaker was such a great layering piece and perfectly highlighted the accent stripes on my footwear choice. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a workout shoe that is so light, yet resistant enough to handle all of the high impact movements I do regularly with my HIIT cardio and circuit training sessions. This collection has made me feel empowered, strong, and motivated me to continue working on my fitness goals throughout this global pandemic. Additionally, now that the rules are a bit more relaxed for social distancing outside, this is the perfect time to get some new gear and take advantage of what’s left of Summer while staying active! The countdown until Spring has officially begun and while I have no desire to purchase any more “cold weather” pieces, there always seems to be a garment that blurs the lines in the most irresistible way. During transitional seasons, at times it can be difficult getting dressed on a daily basis, as the weather can fluctuate dramatically throughout the day. That said, let’s rewind a bit. About a month ago my Mom came to visit me and during our bonding time it’s natural for us to do a bit of eating and of course, shopping. On this particular day, we managed to stumble into the DVF showroom in the Meatpacking District here in NYC, and there it was. The most amazingly vibrant coat I had ever seen! This wool number featured contrasting satin panels and a chic snap closure; SIDEBAR, it was also way out of my price range! I didn’t leave the store feeling discouraged however, as I knew that I would keep a close eye on it in case it ever went on sale. Long story short it did, and that is how our love affair began, LOL! My point is, while I didn’t necessarily “need” another coat, I was able to find a quality statement piece in a fun color that I could easily wear into the upcoming season while remaining on trend. Initially I figured I would wear this with jeans and keep my look fairly casual, but at the last minute I was able to find a pair of nude leather leggings I had been eyeing for a few weeks. While I was unsure about the color against my skin tone at first, after trying them on, I was sold! To my surprise, I also got lucky and found a pair of mules in almost the exact same color that I was determined to get my hands on in time for Summer, but had recently sold out online. As a bit of a wild card, I threw on a sheer floral top and my cat-eye tortoise sunglasses to coordinate with the other Earth tones. Yet again, I found myself in an ensemble that made me want to hop on the first direct flight to Paris and strut down the concrete runways with a baguette in hand. Comment below if you still find yourself gravitating towards outerwear and sweaters even though we’re moving into warmer temperatures. Until next time!

As I knew this was going to be my first blog post of the Spring, I wanted to make sure I styled something weather appropriate and fun. I like this look because it is composed pretty evenly of items that I already had in my closet, and a couple new pieces to freshen things up. I recently bought this shirt-dress and really didn’t think much about posting it on my blog; that is, until I found this belt. Within the last 6 months, I’ve really seen the corset belt trend take off. Whether paired over a t-shirt, blazer, or dress, you name it; this trend is definitely not slowing down anytime soon. Personally, I’ve never been much of a belt person but I also never shy away from trying new things. When I saw this piece during one of my shopping trips, I instantly envisioned this top and began building the ensemble in my mind. I decided on the white accessory because aside from moving into the warmer months, I felt like it provided more of a challenge than the usual black options. I kept the rest of the look pretty simple and sleek with black leather leggings and pumps. As we all know I love adding dimension with different textures, and the smooth matte finish against the lighter fabric of the top provided the perfect contrast. At this point, I knew the look was almost complete but I still felt like there were a few elements missing. I decided to play off of the navy stripes in the shirt as well, and added a dark denim choker for a bit of edge and a light puffer jacket as an extra layer. In all honesty I totally forgot about this jacket, which I’ve had since college, but the navy blue sheen provided the most amazing final touch to tie this look together. I must say, after shooting this outfit, I am beyond excited to see what inspiring style and trends this season brings. Until next time!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! With this being one of the most gluttonous days of the year, I figured leggings would be the perfect piece to focus on this week. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to feel when reaching for that second or third (or fourth) plate of food is discomfort. The beauty of leggings, aside from their marvelous elasticity, is the fact that they now come in such a variety of textures, prints, and styles that you can always look chic while still being able to breathe. So go ahead and break out your favorite pair of leggings and have a happy holiday with your loved ones! (Don’t forget to click on the images to shop the pieces below.)

FINALLY!!! My favorite season has arrived in all of its glory! I’m not quite sure what it is about the fall that gets me so excited but it is a constant reoccurrence every year. From the leather jackets, to the chunky knits, and rich colors, I don’t see what not to love! On this particular day, the weather was absolutely perfect. It was just breezy enough to layer up and still walk around with a hot beverage without breaking a sweat. During the cooler months I tend to stick to more neutral colors and tones so breaking out staple pieces like my leather leggings and trench coat was a no-brainer. In my efforts to make this a “smart” look, I decided to put my layering skills to use by pairing my sleeveless long hemmed button up with an ombré sweatshirt, which matched perfectly with my grey metal-tip flats. With the final touches of a simple necklace and small cross-body bag, I was on my way. Whether it’s for the fashion or the pumpkin spice lattes, I can’t get enough of this time of year. Enjoy!

Welcome! So for my first post, being that it is the first day of spring and snowing like crazy in NYC, I decided to throw it back to a beautiful day in London last September. On this particular day, I was out shopping and exploring the ins and outs of this beautiful city. I wanted to keep my outfit fun and comfortable, which is why I opted for leggings and flats. While I tend to keep my outfits more on the neutral side, I loved this abstract print tunic top with its bright orange accents. Luckily, I was able to capture a few cool moments in front of some of the most amazing murals on a street in East London, named Brick Lane. This street was full of chic and edgy boutiques, markets, and more Indian restaurants than I could count! I plan to revisit soon and make some more wonderful memories and outfits!
