This look was a complete breath of fresh air because it seems like all I’ve been wearing lately are various forms of printed and/or slip dresses. When I was contacted by the Eggie team again for a second collaboration, I went in with the mindset of selecting pieces that represented my style but were also different than the frocks I had been gravitating towards. They sent me about 4 pieces, and I instantly knew that this white lace top was one of the first items I had to style. Despite the high Summer temperatures, denim was the first thing I thought of when imagining what I would pair with this piece. On a recent shopping trip, I found these loose fitting high-waisted boyfriend style jeans that I knew I had to have. They gave the most chill and relaxed feel that made me think of the 90’s and how without even trying, every girl appeared so effortlessly cool. I also felt that they created the perfect silhouette to contrast against the dainty, feminine garment I had been sent. Though the lace was delicate, the bralette that it came with created a sportier and more casual vibe that provided a nice balance for the overall look. As a wild card, I thought it would be interesting to incorporate a statement shoe and these chunky, tortoise-print heeled sandals were exactly what I needed to bring my vision to life. They are so incredibly comfortable I was surprised it had taken me this long to style them on my blog; I’ve literally been living in them! As a final touch to tie everything together, I chose an eye-catching pair of earrings featuring gold and wood accents. Though this was the only accessory I incorporated, I loved how much they complimented the color palette of my ensemble in the best way. All in all, though fairly simple, this look was the reset I needed to step out of the box and bring more versatility back into my wardrobe. Comment below your favorite piece, and until next time!

I don’t think anything could have truly prepared me for my blogging journey and the best part is, as far as I’m concerned, it’s still only just the beginning! Introducing more luxury items and garments to my platform has always been a thought, but it was something I wanted to happen organically. That being said, I was absolutely thrilled when I was contacted by the DVF team to collaborate and style an item from their Summer collection. I’ve been styling a lot of frocks as well as printed pieces in general lately, so I wanted to make sure this shoot had a completely different feel and theme. While the goal is always to keep the focus on the clothing, I knew I wanted to find a location that was just as striking as the bold, Summery print! To my surprise, it didn’t take long before we stumbled upon a “south of the border” inspired bar which captured the essence of Latin America and just so happened to match my ensemble perfectly! The vibrant colors of the establishment, cheeky signage, and abundance of foliage truly helped bring my vision to life in such an editorial way; it’s hard to believe it wasn’t planned. Slip dresses have literally been everywhere over the last few years, so instead of just wearing it as is, I decided to bring a bit of casual edge with a ribbed t-shirt layered underneath. Additionally, since the frock was slightly too big for me, I used this as an opportunity to accessorize and cinch my waist with a belt featuring gold ring details. I didn’t want to over-style or add anymore pieces that would potentially distract from the main garment, so I chose to keep it simple with a pair of satin heeled sandals with feminine bow accents. I really loved how shoes complimented the lace trim on the dress and elevated the look in a subtle way. As a final touch, I threw on my twisted gold hoops and sunnies, which truly helped bring cohesiveness to the ensemble overall. This may have been my most well-matched outfit and setting to date and I couldn’t be more grateful to the DVF team for offering me this opportunity. With only a month left of Summer, let me know in the comments if there are any other looks you’d like to see from me before I dive into Fall content. Until next time!

DAY ONE:

It’s so crazy how even though I try to mentally prepare for New York Fashion Week, it always has a way of sneaking up on me. This season, I have to admit that I was VERY last minute in confirming events, organizing my schedule, and planning my looks– actually, I had no clue what I was wearing until the morning of (lol). One of the most challenging parts about fashion week in February, is figuring out the balance of showing off your look while still trying to remain as warm as possible. That being said, there are definitely some people that throw caution to the wind and just grin and bear it in the name of fashion; however, I am not one of those people. As this happened to be the coldest day I’d be out and about, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with layers. The foundation of my look was simple, with a thin cream colored turtleneck and my favorite pair of straight-legged denim. From there, I continued to add to the ensemble by adding a checked blazer and my white booties. As this was pretty warm toned overall, my footwear definitely helped add the bit of contrast I was looking for. Finally, I finished off the look with a vintage reversible suede and fur coat given to me by my mother, a pair of gold circle-framed sunnies, and my ring handle bag. I absolutely loved the outcome of this look and how all of the pieces complimented each other in the chicest of ways!

DAY TWO:

The next day, I was happy to see that the forecast predicted warmer temperatures; unfortunately, rain was also to be expected. While this look had less visible layers, I knew that if I styled them correctly I could get away with not wearing a coat and being fairly warm. I was actually baking at certain parts of the day, but it was definitely worth it as the night wore on. Underneath this chunky knit was a fitted tank top, as well as a thin long-sleeved bodysuit for extra insulation. I chose to pair this vibrant sweater with a multi-colored tweed skirt for an interesting mix of texture, and used leather accents with my accessories to add structure and edge. Though also planned on a whim, this look was quite the success in my book and one I would definitely sport again in the future.

DAY THREE:

My third look of the week was the hardest to come up with because the weather was horrible throughout the entire day. I played into the gloomy vibes and ended up styling a fairly dark look, however there were some statement pieces and layering that I absolutely loved (as with both of my previous looks). These 70’s style plaid trousers were love at first sight, and have continued to remain a staple in my Fall/Winter wardrobe rotation. To offset the bottom half of the look, I paired a lace top with an off-the-shoulder- white button down which gave an eye-catching illusion effect to the overall look. I then draped my suede and shearling coat across my shoulders and completed the look with black booties and my leather tote. Despite there not being any sun, there’s something about NYFW that allows you the pass to wear sunglasses in any and every scenario no matter what what the conditions are. I kind of liked taking a more lax approach to this year’s NYFW as it kept me on my toes and also allowed me to fully take in each moment as it occurred organically. I may do a few more events this season but for the most part, it’s a wrap for me until September. Until next time!

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I figured I’d use this as an opportunity to pull out the newest bright pink item in my wardrobe. I was utterly shocked when I saw this vibrant magenta suit online during the holidays, and though I didn’t end up wearing it for NYE as planned, I knew it would come in handy sooner or later. Though I love the suit as a whole, I wanted to do something different; and because I haven’t styled denim in awhile I figured this would be a good excuse. These straight-legged jeans have quickly become one of my favorite pairs of denim to date! Recently, I found myself struggling to find a non-distressed pair of jeans in my wardrobe which ultimately led to my search to find these beauties. The cut and style of these trousers really make them a chic piece that will remain a timeless staple in my closet for seasons to come. Another new piece I wanted to showcase with this ensemble, was this amazing cross-body bag. As much as it was genuinely love at first sight, I was a bit hesitant to make the purchase as I have so many black bags already. That being said, after minimal convincing, I knew it was a piece that I needed and its eye-catching details elevated this look to perfection! Since I chose to wear the blazer as a top, I paired it with a dainty lace bralet for a bit of added texture. Finally, I finished off the look with a pair of leather sling-backs which beautifully emphasized the raw hem detail of the denim. All in all, this is absolutely a look I would wear whether out with the girls or on a date with that special someone. Comment below your plans for this year’s lovers holiday, and let me know your favorite piece from my look. Until next time!

The holiday season is by far one of my favorite times of year, and though my excitement never ceases to dwindle, there are a few things that I tend to find a bit repetitive. Aside from the decorations, music, and events, I sometimes wish there were new style trends to experiment with aside from the typical, metallic, sequins, fur, etc. This year, I decided to make a conscious effort to try out some new things with my holiday looks and so far I feel like I’m off to a great start! While making a point not to stray too far from the festive sparkle, I was thrilled when I found this pair of trousers. The rosey hue added a uniqueness that in my opinion was even more eye-catching than the traditional silver or gold; and I loved it! With each look I style for my blog, it’s rare that there isn’t a point of slight difficulty; and in this case, it was deciding on a top. Because I had my mind set on not creating a look that was blatantly “obvious,” it took me awhile to find a piece that was formal enough while still being a bit unexpected. After going back and forth with two drastically different tops, I made the executive decision to layer them and, “VOILA;” the look came to life! I think the juxtaposition of the lace turtleneck and distressed graphic t-shirt made for the most amazing contrast that somehow meshed seamlessly without disrupting the sleek tailoring of the bottoms. Also because of the blend of casual and classic elements, this is a look that can easily be worn in a variety of settings and stand out amongst the crowd! With so many textures going on, I chose to keep my footwear minimal with a pair of black heeled sandals; and though I didn’t grab a bag, I decided to wear my silver geometric earrings for an extra pop of glitz. This ensemble totally gave me “rock&roll-chic” vibes, and I loved how it turned out.  Comment below if you prefer to keep it traditional or mix it up with your annual holiday looks. Stay tuned for more festive outfits to come, until next time!

Lace-up details have become a very popular, statement accent on clothing this season. As a fan of anything that adds a bit of edge to an ensemble, I couldn’t help but be instantly drawn to this trend and gather a few pieces for my personal collection. I’ve rounded up the items below that I still currently have my eye on, so don’t forget to click the images to shop my  picks! Until next time!

Typically when thinking of the holiday season and all of its festivities, we prepare to bring out our most eye-catching pieces containing sequins, fur, and bold statement jewelry. While I fully enjoy and can appreciate partaking in the glitz and glam, I wanted to style a look for the more subdued, non-nonchalant chick who chooses to take more of an understated approach. In my opinion, holidays or not, you can never go wrong with an all black ensemble. Because of my dark color palette however, I definitely wanted to add dimension by mixing up the textures. As soon as I saw the top and its gorgeous lace detail, I knew it would make the perfect piece for this time of year while still being versatile enough to blend with the more casual pieces in my wardrobe. The tailored culottes helped to maintain a “smart” vibe that kept the look relaxed yet formal, and I couldn’t help but add my cropped leather jacket for an extra bit of edge. In order to maintain the “holiday feels,” I accessorized with my iridescent heeled sandals and diamond hoops for a bit of sparkle. Lastly, to complete the look, I grabbed my chain link leather purse and was good to go! A lot of times, I find myself guilty of wanting to throw on my entire closet due to the holiday excitement, but this look has shown me that less can definitely be more. So if you’re struggling to find a look or simply just feel like toning it down for your 5th party of the season, try something like this out and enjoy yourself! Until next time, & happy holidays!

We have seen the lace-up trend take the fashion world by storm since spring/summer 2015. It was first introduced in the form of bodysuits, but has since expanded into other pieces including dresses, trousers, and a popular favorite, sweaters. Like most, I was quite a fan of this trend and appreciated the extra edginess it gave many otherwise traditional garments that we already know and love. This sweater in particular incorporated a few other trends that made it a “must-have” for me, including the high-low hem, super soft fuzzy texture, and mauve hue. To keep the sweater as the focal point of this look but still add a bit of interest, I decided to pair the top with my vegan leather biker trousers that have remained a fall staple in my wardrobe for about 4 seasons now (sadly, I may have to replace them soon 🙁 ). I decided to keep the rest of my accessories minimal with a solid black choker necklace and my single strap heeled sandals. In order to lighten up the color scheme and balance out all of the black, I decided to throw on an over-sized vintage denim jacket which gave the look a cool, effortless feel. As I’ve stated a million times before, I love allowing my garments to speak for themselves and play up the eye-catching details that make them unique. This is definitely a look that I will be rocking in many different variations this season whether with boots, sneakers, jeans or a trench. That’s the fun part about fashion, the options are endless! Until next time!

While I am fully aware that we are in the heat of the summer months (no pun intended), that doesn’t mean I can’t bring it back to the basics; right?! While bright colors, florals, and other trends are known to be go-tos for the summer, an all black ensemble is something that I personally believe never fails to work for any occasion all year round. I recently purchased these black pleated culottes, and instantly knew that they would be a piece I would feature. The movement and chic detail they provide to a variety of outfits, whether for work or running around the city, has already allowed me to get my money’s worth. To contrast with the loose fabric, I decided to pair the trousers with a lace bralet I’ve had for a few years now. Pleats and lace are two textures that I find myself pairing together quite often, and I still have yet to be disappointed in the outcome! In order to give a sophisticated suit-like effect, I threw on my longline blazer as an extra layer to provide more dimension and cohesiveness to the ensemble. I finished off the look with my black minimal heeled sandals and my Prada sunnies that beautifully complimented the neutral color scheme of this look. All in all, you can never go wrong with all black in my book, but tell me what you think! Do you dare to wear dark, or do you prefer to stick with the usual trends? Until next time!

It’s no secret that I love having elements of contrast in my outfits and this look was no different. While I chose to stick with a very feminine, blush and nude color palette, the pieces themselves are quite different. The first item that caught my attention was this beautifully structured, accordion, midi skirt. I was mostly intrigued because upon first glance it appears to be a very dainty and “girly” piece, but it’s texture is surprisingly that of a more rigid fabric (quite similar to how I think  of myself lol). Next, I was on the hunt for a top! I wanted to find something that meshed well with the skirt, but at the same time wasn’t so harsh to the point where it determined the color of my accessories; needless to say, this light peachy/cream blouse was perfect. Aside from the color, the lace detail on the sleeves brought a soft and elegant detail that nicely complimented the bottom half of the look. Because I ended up with a fairly monochrome ensemble, I had a lot of different ways I could have finished off this look; but I chose to end it subtly with nude heels and a matching cross-body bag. I am a huge fan of styling simple looks that require minimal effort, but have eye-catching detail, so that the clothes and the person embodying them constantly make a statement. I’d be lying if I said this look wasn’t yet another favorite…Until next time!
