We made it friends! Another year down, and I couldn’t be happier with how far we’ve come. Despite the uncertainties, setbacks, and struggles along the way, there was also a tremendous amount of growth, reflection, and lessons learned. I am beyond excited to step into 2022 with the same goals, but a slightly updated perspective. I am challenging myself to recognize and appreciate every win no matter how small, while continuing to create content that I am proud of. I decided to close out this chapter with a more understated New Year’s Eve ensemble. Unfortunately, the majority of us are still limiting contact with large groups and though the celebrations will continue, there will be quite a few modifications in place. Personally, I’m planning to stay home which is why I thought this was a fitting outfit for my casual festivities. Though I experimented with quite a few bold colors over the last 12 months, a monochrome black look will always have a permanent place in my heart. During a last minute shopping run, I was able to find this sparkly tube top and a satin midi skirt, which to my surprise, I didn’t already have in my wardrobe. Though purchasing new items is essentially a part of my job, I will always encourage recycling the pieces in your closet to fully get your cost per wear as well as increase sustainability. That being said, I completed the look with some of my favorite staples that I’ve shown on several occasions. Aside from the oversized blazer which I’ve only had for a few months, all of my accessories are oldies but goodies! My chandelier earrings, chain mail bag, and rhinestone heeled sandals have yet to let me down or clash with my ever-evolving style. Lastly, for added holiday drama, I grabbed a pair of minimal sunnies and threw on a bold red lip. Effortlessly chic is exactly how I want to move on from 2021 and I’d have to say, I think I succeeded! Comment below your favorite featured item and I’ll see you in the new year!

When I think of fringe, the first thing that usually comes to mind is Western-inspired styles and motifs. Lately I’ve been seeing this detail adorning a variety of garments such as leather and suede jackets, flannel shirts, and even boots! Though this particular feature has not come up frequently in my own wardrobe, I unintentionally decided to give it a try. As most of us are well aware, “shackets” have probably become the most popular piece bought this year. I never jump on the trend bandwagon immediately, but instead make a note of it and wait to see if I come across an item that aligns with my style. To be honest, I had seen quite a few of these garments in color ways and patterns that I liked but for some reason I was still hesitant to pull the trigger; that is, until recently. During an impromptu mall trip, I stumbled across this plaid over-shirt and knew I had to have it. Unlike the others I had seen, the fringe accents really stood out to me and I instantly thought of the dimension and movement it would add to any ensemble I paired it with. Because this was now the standout piece to my look, I wanted to compliment it with simple items that would easily coordinate without taking away from it’s glory. I’ve recently been accumulating a lot more thin knits for layering and I may actually be obsessed! These turtlenecks are one of the easiest things for me to style this time of year, and I probably wear them at least 3 times a week. I’ve also really been into neutral colors like mink an beige, so when I found one in that color, I knew it would be a perfect match with my new outerwear addition. Since the top half of my outfit was already pretty eye-catching, I chose to ground the bottom half with an old pair of faux leather paper bag waist shorts and my OTK (over-the-knee) boots. As a final touch, to compliment the silver studs on my belt, I grabbed my favorite clutch and some simple earrings for a bit of sparkle. I would absolutely consider this a more casual holiday look especially for those (which should be most of us) celebrating this year’s festivities from home. There are two types of people in this world when it comes to gathering for the holidays. Those who throw on the comfiest thing they own to lounge in, and those who buy an entire outfit just to sit on the couch and take photos while waiting for the festivities to begin; can you guess which category I fall into? Nonetheless, regardless of where you fit in, I’ve decided to round up a few pieces that I could certainly see myself rocking this turkey day! Whether you’re with friends, family, or a mixture of the two, have an amazing holiday and cherish these moments while you can. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!

There are so many perks when it comes to holidays; the long weekends, time off from work, quality time to spend with friends and loved ones, and of course THE SALES! Below I’ve rounded up some July 4th sales that are still going on even though the fireworks and barbecues may have ended. Work off those hot dogs and burgers with some retail therapy below; until next time!

With Valentines day quickly approaching, many single people tend to want to hibernate until February 15th; and though I’ve personally had similar feelings in the past, I would much rather dedicate the 14th as well as the rest of the year to embracing self-love. Below I’ve rounded up a few items that can hopefully motivate us all to pamper ourselves more, regardless of our relationship status. I’m not sure what has gotten into me lately, but blush tones have really been tickling my fancy more than ever before. That being said, due to a certain hallmark holiday also creeping up on us, I’ve decided to embrace the feminine hues this month as it seems rather fitting. While my V-day plans are still to be determined, I wanted to try styling a couple looks that conveyed the romantic feel of the 14th, without being entirely predictable. So in efforts to put my own spin on things, it was inevitable that some form of contrast had to come into play. During my shopping trip I was met with the misfortune of being faced with every vibrant red and pink garment imaginable; and while this may have made the task easier for some, I was beginning to get concerned that I would have to leave empty handed. On my last lap around the store however, I noticed a slightly muted mauve toned slip dress that was honestly right up my alley! The gorgeous color paired with the elegant draping of the frock, instantly convinced me that I was moving in the right direction. However, because it was such a dainty piece, I knew I wanted to layer it with a few items that would give it a bit more structure and add some casual elements. After more hours of over-thinking and weighing my style options, I decided to take an understated approach and simply use a crisp white t-shirt as my base. On top of that, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a shearling jacket I had been eyeing for about a month now, and I couldn’t be more obsessed! The cut and shape of this stunning piece of outerwear is unlike anything else I own and can easily take me into the upcoming Spring months. Because the majority of this ensemble consisted of softer tones, I decided to add my grey suede thigh high boots for some added warmth and color richness. To complete the look, I thought it would be fun to give a nod to my 2015 self and throw on an embellished choker. This necklace alone, with its eye-catching rhinestones and overlapping black tie laces, really helped marry both of the edgy and girly components that made up this look. Let me know in the comments your favorite piece from this outfit and where/if you would wear it to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Until next time!

With only a few days left until we ring in the new year, I thought I’d round up a few festive ensembles perfect for any NYE celebratory occasion! Whether your event in conservative, risque, casual or completely over the top, it’s not too late to find a look that will have you looking and feeling your best as we enter 2019! With just 5 days left until its officially 2019, I had to post one more festive holiday look that would be perfect for all of the year end celebrations. New Year’s Eve, for me, is always a night of reflection, toasting, and fun, in honor of making it through another 365 days with my loved ones. I had no specific pieces in mind in regards to what I wanted to style for this look, but upon seeing this jumpsuit, I knew I had found the perfect garment to create my vision. After calling around to a few stores to track down my size, I was able to bring this gorgeous metallic garment home and begin cultivating my look. Because the majority of my canvas would be black and gold, I wanted to accessorize with pieces that were minimal, yet striking enough to elevate the already statement making item. As much as I loved this jumpsuit, I felt that the torso was a tad too long for me (short people problems, lol) so adding a belt was a no-brainer. Coincidentally, I had recently picked up a new one in the same color scheme a few weeks prior, and it ended up being the perfect fit! The rustic gold accents and thick black leather strap really helped give an overall edge to the look as well as provide more of a silhouette for my frame. For this ensemble, I also wanted to be realistic in how I presented it and make sure it was as weather appropriate as possible. I’ve gotten to an age where I don’t like to put myself in predicaments where I’m freezing just for the sake of being “cute,” so it was important for me to at least include a piece of outwear and closed toe shoes. I kept the heels understated since there was an abundance of sparkle throughout the look, and for a bit of contrast layered on a faux shearling jacket for some extra warmth. The look was just about complete but I figured, “a little extra drama wouldn’t hurt anybody, right?!” So with that being said, I put on stunning pair of rhinestone chandelier earrings for one last final touch of glam. I was definitely thrilled with how this look turned out and strongly felt that it highlighted my style evolution in the same way that NYE celebrations represent growth and development over the year prior. I truly hope everyone had an exciting year full of lessons and fruitful experiences, and I can’t wait to see you all in 2019! Whatever you’re doing for NYE, stay safe and have fun! Until next time!

The holidays are officially here and with all of the social gatherings coming up, outfit preparation is a must! That being said, sometimes the focus is so much on the ensemble, accessories can be forgotten. Not to worry, I’ve rounded up a few festive bags that will help take any look to the next level and add that extra bit of sparkle you may be missing. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!

As much as I love the holiday season, I find that sometimes the more lowkey celebrations end up being the best and most memorable. For instance, living in a major city, I find that there is so much hype that comes with preparing for Christmas and New Years that sometimes it can just be an overpriced, under-whelming experience. That being said, I decided to scale things back and style a look perfectly fit for a house party or any type of otherwise “mild” festivities. This year in particular, turtlenecks have really become a staple in my wardrobe so I couldn’t head into 2019 without showcasing this neon green number. I’ve honestly been sitting on this piece for a while as I wasn’t sure if it was too trendy, or if I could pull it off without looking like I was trying too hard. Per usual, I just followed my gut and created a look that I felt comfortable and confident in (which is all that really matters). I recently went to a sample sale and I don’t know about you guys, but for me, those can be some of the most overwhelming environments imaginable. Though I love finding a good deal, the time and effort it takes to sift through the racks while racing to find the “best” pieces before someone else can come and snatch them from your hands, really adds a pressure that I could live without. All in all I survived, and ended up leaving with a chic pair of high-waisted kick flare jeans featuring a 6 button closure and contrast white stitching. Because I wasn’t working with the traditional holiday colors, I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to really bring out that festive undertone. Another trend I’ve been experimenting with a lot more this season is socks paired with heels. I really find this to be such a cute and subtle accent that can easily bring interest to a look that is simple or plain. Funny enough, I didn’t even realize that the socks I decided to wear coordinated perfectly with the white buttons on my trousers. I chose to layer them under a pair of satin heeled sandals which I felt highlighted the sleekness of the look, while the bow detail tied in the overall holiday theme. Lastly, I came across an iridescent beaded bag that I didn’t even know I needed, but totally helped bring all of the elements of my outfit together in the most beautiful way. The variety of colors in this tiny accessory helped to compliment the boldness of my top, while also playing off of the shiny metallic texture of the socks. For the most part I’m definitely planning on keeping things casual this year (though anything can happen, lol). Comment below if you enjoy elaborate holiday celebrations or smaller, more understated gatherings. Happy holidays to you all, & until next time!
