As we reflect on these last few days of 2023, a lot of us find ourselves moving through a wave of emotions. All of the “shoulda, woulda, coulda’s,” potential disappointment regarding the things we didn’t accomplish, and maybe even a bit of regret for some of the decisions we ultimately made. All in all, I think it’s important to feel all of it so that we can hopefully move into a space of acceptance and contentment as we step into the year ahead; we deserve it. Now with that being said, the shopping season is still in full swing! While we may have gotten our gift giving out of the way, the post Xmas sales have just begun and honestly, it’s not a bad time to see if there’s any last minute pieces you can check off your wish-list for a discounted price! Over the last 2 months, I’ve noticed a void in my wardrobe that has kept me vigilantly on the hunt for a floor-grazing, black, oversized, double-breasted wool coat. Though this seems like a pretty common garment to come across especially during the colder months, there are SO many options from tons of brands, each having their own subtle differences, that made this quest harder than expected. Unexpectedly however, I happened to be scrolling through IG and one of my favorite influencers had actually partnered with the brand and was modeling this piece for the collection that was dropping that same day! So after rushing to the website and refreshing my browser all morning, waiting for the item to be available for purchase, I finally secured the outerwear staple I had been craving! Even prior to receiving it, my vision was to layer it over more feminine pieces to play up the juxtaposition of the menswear structure. JPG has been having quite a moment with all of the “body illusion” dresses this year and before I jumped on the trend, I wanted to take my time and wait for something that I could truly see being a quality addition to my wardrobe. Because of the bold print, I knew I would most likely opt for something neutral and I finally found the perfect frock! I didn’t even realize how sparkly the metallic stripes would be until I saw it in person, and the contrast of the brown panels really made the design come to life! I kept my accessories simple while highlighting the silver accents with my jewelry and clutch. Despite my NYE plans looking fairly relaxed thus far, this is definitely an outfit I would wear if I planned to go out; would you??? Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Finding beauty in the midst of chaos can sometimes feel like an impossible task, but that is exactly what the holidays represent for me this season. Though it would be extremely easy to sit back and dwell on the negative, times like this give us the opportunity to focus on all that we have instead of the hardships that have caused great loss. Personally, I am choosing to end this year on a positive note and I feel incredibly blessed to still have my family, health, and a place to call home. Like most people, I love seeing all of the beautiful decorations and festive inspired décor. That aside, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t prefer more modern takes rather than just the traditional red and green color scheme. When my photographer and I stumbled across this storefront, I knew it was the perfect backdrop to compliment my look! The lush shrubbery and blush tones could not have been a better accent to this neutral Winter ensemble. Sweater dresses are an absolute staple during the colder months and I had seen this one floating around social media on more than one occasion. To my surprise when curating a list of seasonal wardrobe essentials, I noticed it was back in stock and jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. Despite going outside less than ever before, I have also been getting tons of wear out of these cream, knee-high boots this year. I’ve had them going on three years now and am pleased to say that they have held up like a dream! To tie these pieces together, I threw on my newest scarf which I was certain I’d get my cost per wear out of from the moment I saw it online. The versatility alone and dual print, which allows me to wear it on either side, makes it a suitable accessory for almost any ensemble. Finally, to complete this outfit, I threw on my favorite blazer for optimal warmth and a pair of statement gold earrings with peal accents. I could easily see myself wearing this look for a casual, intimate holiday gathering with friends and/or family featuring games, movies, and delicious treats! Comment below your favorite piece that was styled and until next time!

“Tis’ the season to be jolly… ” and that, I most certainly am! The warmth and joy that this time of year brings, is honestly something I don’t think I’ll ever stop being excited for! Given the fact that Christmas is literally days away, I knew I wanted to style a look that was festive but I didn’t have any specific pieces in mind. After a pretty hectic shopping trip around the city, I had a decent haul of items that unfortunately could be paired in so many different combinations I was left with quite the dilemma. My initial thought was to pair the glittery bronze midi dress with a blazer, but the tones ended up being a bit too similar and it left the ensemble feeling quite dull. After getting the pieces home and clearing my head, I remembered that I had recently purchased  a red sweater that I had yet to shoot in! Suddenly everything began to fall into place as I layered the chunky knit over the frock and found an old belt to cinch the waist giving the look a more feminine shape. Because I was wearing such a bold color, I wanted to keep my makeup and accessories very neutral and subdued. For footwear I chose a pair of closed toe heels with cross strap detailing, that I definitely think added an extra bit of interest and chicness to the outfit. Overall, I feel like this would be the perfect look for a celebratory family dinner, office party, or even a holi-date, (get it?) lol. With only a few weeks left of the year, I just want to spend my time around the people I love while reflecting on my journey and growth thus far. Most importantly, I’d like to spend this time being happy and continuing to find ways to become my best self– while staying well-dressed of course! I hope you guys are having an amazing holiday season and enjoyed this look. Until next time!
