I can’t believe we’re at the end of yet another year! With Christmas right around the corner, the only thing I’m focused on is maintaining my peace, while staying present and grateful this festive season. This year, I began a new video series showcasing my weekly office outfits over on Instagram and this one actually made the cut! Though I did opt for different footwear (specifically, boots) when I initially wore this ensemble, it made quite the statement at this year’s holiday party! Red has been one of the main standout colors of 2023, so it was only right that I share my own interpretation when the occasion presented itself. A great benefit to wearing vibrant hues is that they are so eye-catching, your outfit will always look elevated regardless of how simple it actually is. To take it a step further, a bold monochrome pairing adds a streamlined chicness no matter how bright or muted the color palette. So long story short, all it took was a mock neck sweater and satin midi skirt to create a seemingly well thought out look. Now, of course I couldn’t just stop there! In efforts to stay on theme, I knew from the start that I’d be accenting the crimson tones with elements of silver. Starting with my shoes, these demure closed toe heels have been an absolute staple in my wardrobe from the moment I bought them! They provide just enough interest and shine, while still remaining subtle enough to compliment a variety of styles whether formal or casual. In preparation for all of the upcoming festivities, I found myself wanting to update some of my costume jewelry pieces; and from the moment I saw these earrings, I was sold! In all honesty, though I did love them, I couldn’t help but feel like maybe the “shoulder-grazers” were a bit too much; but there was only one way to find out. After receiving them in the mail and trying them on with a few of my closet favorites, I knew I had made the right decision and could not have been more pleased with how this look turned out! As a final touch I added my everyday rings, a beaded bag to match, and was fully ready for a merry evening with family, friends, or even coworkers! Another year has come to an end and what a whirlwind it has been! It’s so surreal whenever we get to this point because it’s the only time we truly have a sense of “reset” and starting anew. Personally, while I’m trying to focus on gratitude overall, I also want to take account of everything that did not serve me over the last 365 days. All of the negative thoughts, habits, routines and even people who have no place in the next chapter of my story will be left here in this moment. As I get older, it’s important for me to prioritize healing, growth, and working the plans I’ve made to create the life that I rightfully deserve; and I hope you do the same! I’ve mentioned previously that the Fall and Winter holiday seasons are my favorite, and unfortunately it seems as though they keep flying by faster than the last. Because of that, my enthusiasm towards the festivities was slightly underwhelming and I feel like it reflected in my approach to styling my ensembles. That being said, there was no shortage of sparkle and shine which is really all that matters, right?! I had been on the hunt for a sequin top and actually purchased one but sadly, I was not in love with it. To my surprise, about two weeks later I stumbled upon another one during the Black Friday sales and though it was still a bit more than what I had initially paid for the first option, it was well worth it! The quality and construction of the sequins were infinitely better as well as the gunmetal color which made it more edgy and luxe in my opinion than the typical high-shine silver. In efforts to keep the rest of the look understated, I reached into my closet for a patent mini skirt and layered it with some fishnet tights for added texture and interest. I completed the outfit with a few more “vintage” wardrobe staples, including my pvc slingback heels and houndstooth coat which I honestly do not get enough wear out of! A black leather top-handle bag and signature red lip were all I needed to tie everything together and be ready for an at home or out on the town NYE celebration! I’m leaving 2022 filled with love, light, and optimism for an incredibly abundant 2023. See you there!

We made it friends! Another year down, and I couldn’t be happier with how far we’ve come. Despite the uncertainties, setbacks, and struggles along the way, there was also a tremendous amount of growth, reflection, and lessons learned. I am beyond excited to step into 2022 with the same goals, but a slightly updated perspective. I am challenging myself to recognize and appreciate every win no matter how small, while continuing to create content that I am proud of. I decided to close out this chapter with a more understated New Year’s Eve ensemble. Unfortunately, the majority of us are still limiting contact with large groups and though the celebrations will continue, there will be quite a few modifications in place. Personally, I’m planning to stay home which is why I thought this was a fitting outfit for my casual festivities. Though I experimented with quite a few bold colors over the last 12 months, a monochrome black look will always have a permanent place in my heart. During a last minute shopping run, I was able to find this sparkly tube top and a satin midi skirt, which to my surprise, I didn’t already have in my wardrobe. Though purchasing new items is essentially a part of my job, I will always encourage recycling the pieces in your closet to fully get your cost per wear as well as increase sustainability. That being said, I completed the look with some of my favorite staples that I’ve shown on several occasions. Aside from the oversized blazer which I’ve only had for a few months, all of my accessories are oldies but goodies! My chandelier earrings, chain mail bag, and rhinestone heeled sandals have yet to let me down or clash with my ever-evolving style. Lastly, for added holiday drama, I grabbed a pair of minimal sunnies and threw on a bold red lip. Effortlessly chic is exactly how I want to move on from 2021 and I’d have to say, I think I succeeded! Comment below your favorite featured item and I’ll see you in the new year!

Another year has flown by and now that we’re just days away from Christmas, I can honestly say that my sense of gratitude is at an all time high. As a society, we have endured so much over the last 24 months and though tomorrow is always uncertain, I feel incredibly blessed that I am able to do a bit of celebrating with my family and friends this year. On to more lighthearted topics, I am also extremely proud of myself for getting my gift shopping done early and not waiting until the very last minute. This is unfortunately something I typically do which in a weird way adds to the excitement of the holidays. However, this season, I wanted to take a different approach and get it out of the way so that I could focus on the things that matter most. TIME. We all know the saying, “time flies when you’re having fun,” but we’ve also learned that during the moments that aren’t the most pleasant, it seems to move just as quickly. Appreciating loved ones while enjoying the moments spent together are what should be cherished in this life and never taken for granted. Whether I’m looking for presents or not, I’ll forever make the effort to run around the city and browse different stores mainly to see the decorative window displays and festive garnishing. That said, it was only right that I close out 2021 with at least one shoot in a mall setting. The lights, trees, and music made for an absolutely magical backdrop, and I was quite pleased with the overall outcome. I had recently purchased this bright green cut-out knit which I thought would be the perfect piece for any casual holiday gatherings that I might attend. To mimic the wrap detail on my top, I paired it with light-washed denim featuring a similar asymmetric button closure. For outerwear, I grabbed an old multicolored faux fur coat that I’ve had in my collection for nearly a decade! I take pride in being able to re-wear and style pieces in my wardrobe that I frankly forgot about, while giving them a new life in a more contemporary way. I finished off the ensemble with a pair of metallic heels and silver jewelry for some additional sparkle. Realistically, despite a possible change in footwear, I would absolutely wear this outfit while partaking in any of the merry activities this season has to offer. When I think of fringe, the first thing that usually comes to mind is Western-inspired styles and motifs. Lately I’ve been seeing this detail adorning a variety of garments such as leather and suede jackets, flannel shirts, and even boots! Though this particular feature has not come up frequently in my own wardrobe, I unintentionally decided to give it a try. As most of us are well aware, “shackets” have probably become the most popular piece bought this year. I never jump on the trend bandwagon immediately, but instead make a note of it and wait to see if I come across an item that aligns with my style. To be honest, I had seen quite a few of these garments in color ways and patterns that I liked but for some reason I was still hesitant to pull the trigger; that is, until recently. During an impromptu mall trip, I stumbled across this plaid over-shirt and knew I had to have it. Unlike the others I had seen, the fringe accents really stood out to me and I instantly thought of the dimension and movement it would add to any ensemble I paired it with. Because this was now the standout piece to my look, I wanted to compliment it with simple items that would easily coordinate without taking away from it’s glory. I’ve recently been accumulating a lot more thin knits for layering and I may actually be obsessed! These turtlenecks are one of the easiest things for me to style this time of year, and I probably wear them at least 3 times a week. I’ve also really been into neutral colors like mink an beige, so when I found one in that color, I knew it would be a perfect match with my new outerwear addition. Since the top half of my outfit was already pretty eye-catching, I chose to ground the bottom half with an old pair of faux leather paper bag waist shorts and my OTK (over-the-knee) boots. As a final touch, to compliment the silver studs on my belt, I grabbed my favorite clutch and some simple earrings for a bit of sparkle. I would absolutely consider this a more casual holiday look especially for those (which should be most of us) celebrating this year’s festivities from home. While I absolutely love dressing up for any occasion, especially the holidays, I wanted to style a few more casual options for this year’s festivities considering most celebrations will be small at-home gatherings. Though I haven’t really stocked up on tons of loungewear during the pandemic, I have added a few new sweat suits to my collection. This one in particular is by far the most “formal” due to its neoprene fabric which makes it much more substantial and structured than my cotton options. When it comes to my personal style, one of my favorite things to do is pair casual and dressier items together. Whether it be a band t-shirt, denim, or an old pair of sneakers, this juxtaposition is always one that I tend to gravitate towards. For me, it was a no-brainer that I’d be styling this basic co-ord with a sleek pair of heels. I had actually purchased these satin beauties about 2 years ago for NYE and they still bring me joy every time I wear them! Despite being extremely comfortable, the bow detail across the toe strap always incorporates a cute feminine touch. Once I had these items styled I knew I would need a few more pieces to complete this look. I had recently purchased a new coat for the season which featured an abstract hounds-tooth print. In my opinion, this was the perfect outer layer for the ensemble because it made a classic yet bold statement, against the other black garments. For additional texture, I dusted off and threw on an old quilted chain link bag. I always love bringing new life to items in my closet that I may have forgotten about or took a break from wearing. Lastly, to top off the holiday vibes, I added a bright red lip and was ready to celebrate from the comfort of my own home! Comment below if despite the restrictions you still plan to get fully glam, or if you’re choosing to tone it down this year due to the current circumstances. Until next time!

Finding beauty in the midst of chaos can sometimes feel like an impossible task, but that is exactly what the holidays represent for me this season. Though it would be extremely easy to sit back and dwell on the negative, times like this give us the opportunity to focus on all that we have instead of the hardships that have caused great loss. Personally, I am choosing to end this year on a positive note and I feel incredibly blessed to still have my family, health, and a place to call home. Like most people, I love seeing all of the beautiful decorations and festive inspired décor. That aside, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t prefer more modern takes rather than just the traditional red and green color scheme. When my photographer and I stumbled across this storefront, I knew it was the perfect backdrop to compliment my look! The lush shrubbery and blush tones could not have been a better accent to this neutral Winter ensemble. Sweater dresses are an absolute staple during the colder months and I had seen this one floating around social media on more than one occasion. To my surprise when curating a list of seasonal wardrobe essentials, I noticed it was back in stock and jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. Despite going outside less than ever before, I have also been getting tons of wear out of these cream, knee-high boots this year. I’ve had them going on three years now and am pleased to say that they have held up like a dream! To tie these pieces together, I threw on my newest scarf which I was certain I’d get my cost per wear out of from the moment I saw it online. The versatility alone and dual print, which allows me to wear it on either side, makes it a suitable accessory for almost any ensemble. Finally, to complete this outfit, I threw on my favorite blazer for optimal warmth and a pair of statement gold earrings with peal accents. I could easily see myself wearing this look for a casual, intimate holiday gathering with friends and/or family featuring games, movies, and delicious treats! When I think of NYE, most of the time an elaborate celebration featuring over the top outfits and partying until the early hours of the morning comes to mind. That said, there are multiple ways one could bring in the new year. For that reason, I decided to style a festive look that would be more appropriate for an at home celebration or something that is just overall more low-key. Coincidentally, when I stumbled upon this particular top, I was actually shopping for garments for my Christmas blog posts. I had also been invited to a holiday party that same weekend so I figured it would make for an easy option to throw on for that event as well. Though I was hesitant about whether I would actually wear it, by the time I got home and tried it on I was convinced! I loved that this metallic blouse wasn’t so obviously silver or gold, which gave me room to play around with the jewelry I decided to pair it with. Additionally, and probably my favorite thing about this piece; it’s reversible! Having the option to wear the plunging neckline in either the front or the back was definitely a bonus and made this purchase that much more worth it! For bottoms, I chose an old vinyl pair of trousers which in an interesting way, still highlighted the sparkle of my top and complimented it perfectly. While I had previously worn silver accents, for this shoot I decided to try gold jewelry and was pleasantly surprised with how everything came together. Since my hair was up, I sported my newest stud earrings and matching pendant as well as an assortment of gold rings. Lastly, for one final element of glitz, I chose to wear my gold-capped black pumps to seamlessly complete the look. Since we used a hotel setting for this photo shoot, my vision of a cozy NYE curled up on the couch surrounded by candles truly came to life! I’m still not quite sure what I’ll be doing this year, but at least I know if I stay in I can still look a bit festive. Comment below whether you’re more of a homebody or prefer to be out on the town for NYE. Until next time!

With only a few days until 2020, I wanted to round up a few pieces that could easily be added to existing garments in your current wardrobe to spice up any outfit for the night’s festivities. Though it may not be a hindrance, I’ve come to realize that it’s not always necessary to purchase an entirely new outfit for every event that occurs in life. Also, depending on your NYE plans, it may be as simple as adding a few accessories to elevate an already appropriate ensemble to something slightly more celebratory. Hopefully if you’re still unsure of what to wear or don’t have time to order something new, the items below can provide some inspiration! Don’t forget to click the below images for direct links and until next time!

My holiday attire series would not be complete without an appropriate ensemble for the office and/or all other work related functions. As a corporate girl, happy hour invites are a regular part of the culture and during the holiday season it is to be expected on an even larger scale. In the event the occasion calls for something other than an ugly Christmas sweater, I like to be prepared with something chic and subtly festive than can be reused at a later date. I actually saw this pistachio colored leather dress while shopping for an October island vacation, and though I wasn’t sure of what to do with it at the time, I knew I couldn’t just leave it sitting in my cart! As soon as I received it and tried it on, I could instantly tell it would be the perfect garment for any celebratory events; and when the opportunity arose, I was able to test it out first hand at the company party this year. To dress it up but still keep the frock as the focal piece, I used gold and black accents with pieces I already had in my wardrobe. My tights were actually from my 2018 NYE ensemble and the ankle booties, though slightly more casual, still helped to anchor the look in a seamless way with their metallic accents. To punch up the glam even more, I threw on my layered chain necklace and matching teardrop earrings with metallic flecks. Though I couldn’t pick an overall favorite, I truly loved the versatility that each outfit represented. In my opinion, it’s not about being the most obvious with your looks, but capturing the essence of the season in a sophisticated way. Comment below your favorite of the 3 options and if you would wear them to any other holiday parties/gatherings I did not mention. Until next time!
