This was probably the first shoot I’ve done in which the vision was almost completely dictated by the location. As soon as we decided on the playground, the ensemble took on a whole new life of it’s own. It brought me back to the many years I spent in private school with those stark white collared shirts, and plaid skirts (of course they were much longer back then) and how we would always try our best to make our uniforms as flattering and unique as possible. Needless to say, we weren’t that successful but those years definitely helped shape who I am today and had its fun moments. For this look I wanted to focus on the subtle details of the pieces, such as the double hem of the top and the intricate stitching on the leather mini. To add a little fun and movement to the look, I threw on a pair of fringe heeled sandals and enjoyed the moment. As I’m sure the kids and their parents looked at me like I was crazy, I had a blast reliving a moment of my childhood, in a much more fashionable way of course! š
