As we approach the final days of 2020, and reflect on what was probably one of the most unpredictable years in history, I’m sure most of us are looking to the future with a sigh of relief. Whether you stayed at home and just tried to survive another day, start a business venture, or adjust to some of the unfortunate realities that came with this pandemic, making it this far has been an accomplishment in itself. Though many of us have not been focused on dressing up, I personally know how much my appearance affects my mood. Over the last few weeks I have tried to come up with looks that include subtle festive elements, even if the celebrations will be taking place from the comfort of your own home. For this final ensemble, I wanted to bring out some classic sparkle and shine! I recently saw these metallic trousers and knew I had to somehow incorporate them into my New Year’s Eve outfits. The smooth texture and high-waisted fit definitely made them a showstopper that could easily be dressed up or down. I also recently purchased what appeared to be another classic white shirt but to my surprise it was even better! This elevated take on the traditional button-up staple, was something I’ve never seen before. Because it was actually a bodysuit, it allowed for a seamless and formal fit that could be tucked into a variety of bottoms without the bulkiness of extra material. Though I was loving the direction this ensemble was taking, I needed to add pieces that made it a bit more sassy and less “office party.” I was set on bringing some heeled sandals to the mix, but didn’t want to weigh the look down with a black pair. Instead, I continued with the metallic theme and reached for a silver shoe that still remains one of my favorites to this day! For a more glamorous touch, I also included my coveted diamante earrings which I have consistently worn for at least the last 3 years. Though I probably won’t have much use for this final piece as I do not have any plans to go out, I figured a wool coat would be a weather appropriate addition and the perfect garment to complete this outfit. Now all you have to do is apply your favorite red lip, grab a dazzling bag, and you’re good to go! Comment below your favorite featured item and if you’re planning to dress up for NYE or just save it for next year. See you in 2021!

Christmas is right around the corner and time is not slowing down by any means! Though things are looking quite different for a lot of us this year, I have personally tried my best to maintain a sense of normalcy and do everything I can to get myself in the spirit. Despite all of the changes, hardships, and restrictions overall, I cannot ignore all of the things I have to be grateful for. This year, because so many of us will be spending the holidays from the comfort of our own homes, I wanted to create festive looks that were both comfortable and a bit casual. I have been a fan of sweater dresses for quite some time and I have no doubt that they will remain a closet staple for years to come. Especially in the colder months, they are probably the most effective garment for looking put-together with minimal effort. I recently purchased this grey frock and was instantly pleased with the softness of the fabric, fit, and classic fitted turtleneck style. With such a simple piece to anchor the overall ensemble, I knew I could play up the accessories to really convey those celebratory, holiday vibes. Since I’ve recently moved, I have stumbled across a lot of items in my closet that I forgot I even owned; to my surprise, this faux fur vest was one of them! I remember getting it at least 3 years ago from a consignment shop and absolutely falling in love! The ombre black and white color scheme and texture truly made this a chic showstopper that I knew would be perfect to elevate my look. With nearly 75% of my outfit complete, I knew that accessories would be the icing on this Christmas cake! While rummaging through my old statement jewelry collection, I found this gorgeous silver necklace fully composed of rhinestones and layered chains. This was absolutely the piece I needed to complete my Winter glam look, and to finish it off, I added my favorite croc embossed leather booties. Whether planning to stay at home or traveling to celebrate with loved ones, this is absolutely an outfit I would wear to ring in the festivities. Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

Another year has gone by and it truly has been a whirlwind! With all of ups and downs 2017 brought, I can honestly say the amount of growth I’ve experienced in my personal and professional life has left me with a sense of accomplishment I can only help but feel optimistic about. Though no year is ever perfect, staying humble, focused, consistent, and positive are all I can do to ensure the good outweighs the bad. Surprisingly, I may actually be staying in this NYE however that doesn’t mean I don’t have several outfits planned for any last minute events. While I’m usually all about the glitz during this holiday, this year I decided to take a slightly more understated approach and traded my sequins for velvet. This cranberry colored jumpsuit was absolutely perfect for the vibe I was feeling for this New Year’s Eve: comfortable, sexy, yet classy. This piece is also very practical as I was definitely not too keen on the idea of facing these frigid New York temperatures with bare legs. Jumpsuits will always remain a closet staple for me because of how low maintenance they are. They also take the stress out of finding multiple items to coordinate together and allow the focus to remain on statement accessories. Because I still wanted to include a bit of festive sparkle to the look, I chose a pair of rose gold heeled sandals with diamante accents to add an element of glam. To match my footwear, I also incorporated some dainty rose gold studs which I thought added a nice elegant detail. Lastly, to finish off the look, no NYE outfit would be complete in my opinion without a faux fur! I’ve had this particular one for a few years now and it still brings that “sophisticated drama” that I love, whenever I wear it. I really can’t believe that this will be my last post of 2017 and what an amazing year of outfits it’s been! Whether you’ve been following my blog from the beginning or just recently, your support is greatly appreciated and I vow to continue to provide style inspiration and helpful tips well into the new year and if all goes as planned, many more to come! Cheers to 2018 and year 3 of ASM! Stay safe tonight, and see you next year! <3

I’ve always admired the chicness that comes with styling a monochrome look, however up until this point I haven’t had the best luck pulling it off or finding a color that would be fitting for my style. That being said, after a bit of intense retail therapy, everything seemed to “Fall” into place. During this time of year, dark tones such as burgundy, wine, cranberry, and maroon annually leave a lasting impression among retailers everywhere so it wasn’t particularly hard to find pieces that would work for this ensemble. The first item I fell in love with were these coated denim trousers that honestly fit like a dream! I’m a huge fan of mixing textures within my looks so it was no surprise that I was instantly drawn to these pants and definitely plan to get my full wear out of them over the next few months. At this point I was beginning to think about forfeiting my original idea and just style a look that tailored more towards color-blocking, and then I saw it. This mock-neck sweater literally matched my jeans perfectly and created a timeless silhouette that pulled this look together in the most effortless way. While I could’ve continued with matching accessories, I wouldn’t be true to myself if there wasn’t at least a little bit of contrast. For shoes, I decided on a pair of nude suede pumps that in my opinion really made the rich color of the overall outfit pop. Though I didn’t choose a layer of outerwear to style, I grabbed an old scarf and used it as a shawl for an extra bit of dimension. I finished off the look with my favorite ombre aviators and was ready to go! This look came together better than I had anticipated and will definitely remain a trend that I will be revisiting in the future. Comment your thoughts on monochrome and Autumnal looks, and don’t forget to share this post if you’d like. Until next time!

Tweed is a classic fabric that is typically a staple during the Fall and Winter months. About a month ago I went on vacation to the beautiful Dominican Republic and though I wasn’t able to shoot much while I was there, I made it a point to capture some of my looks when I returned for the blog. I’m sure we all can agree that floral prints are pretty much a staple during the Spring and Summer months, so it was no surprise that I had to bring at least one patterned piece with me to paradise. Unlike the usual florals I tend to gravitate towards, there was something about this Hawaiian inspired top that I just couldn’t pass up. The vibrant inidgo background color really made the white flowers and yellow details pop, so I knew this piece had to remain the focal point of the look. While I could’ve gone in many directions when styling this outfit, I chose to keep the bottom half more subtle with a black pleated mini skirt that provided a bit movement and texture. Personally, I absolutely love basics with any kind of extra detail that makes it a tad more eye-catching than what’s to be expected. In efforts to increase the effortless island feels, I tied up the shirt in the front and threw on my yellow platform sandals for a bit of extra spice. During this entire shoot, I couldn’t stop spinning and moving around so that the playfulness of the ensemble was really captured on camera. For accessories I only chose to reach for my classic aviators since for me, less is always more especially when it comes to dressing up in the blazing hot temperatures. After doing a trial run during my trip, I was so happy to come back and re-shoot this look. Let me know your favorite types of looks to style while on vacation in the comments below. Until next time!

I wore this look to a networking event a few weeks ago and loved it so much that I couldn’t help but devote an entire blog post to it. For me, this was the perfect outfit for the occasion because it was feminine, classic, flirty, and just all around perfect for Spring. Because the weather can still be a bit unexpected this time of  year, layering is always a safe bet. It also allows you to add dimension to your look while still remaining on trend and chic. I purchased this dress last summer and thought it served as a great contrasting piece to the smart white button up I paired it with. While I’m not the biggest “floral” girl, I tend to gravitate towards prints that contain darker base colors as they are easier to style. The great thing about this transitional period, is that you can make use of your entire wardrobe by mixing and matching pieces from various seasons. Since I was working with such a bold print, I kept my accessories very minimal and chose a black caged heel for a bit of edge. I also opted for a nude colored bag to keep the look light and soft when accenting the floral design. Overall, I was very pleased with how this look turned out and think it’s fitting for many different occasions regardless of what the attire calls for. Dresses are probably one of the easiest pieces you can style, but it never hurts to add an extra layer that will allow you stand out from the crowd and make a few heads turn. Until next time!
