When it comes to creating outfits, especially as we move into the colder months, I find myself leaning into different textures more frequently. Considering outerwear and footwear are the pieces that get displayed most during this time of year, I try to have fun and select items that have more unique qualities. I’ve never been much of a “trench coat girl” as the season to wear them always seems too short, however this year I couldn’t pass on this stunning olive number. The hue and sheen are truly what captured my attention and it didn’t take much convincing to make my purchase. I absolutely love the oversized, yet relaxed, fit as well as the unusual shade of green which makes this particular garment both eye-catching as well as neutral. At this point, I’d probably say this is one of the most show-stopping jackets I own! In an effort to not have too many competing styles, I decided to pair down the rest of the ensemble with a cut-out black bodysuit and distressed boyfriend jeans. I liked the way the details of both pieces somewhat mirrored each other while adding subtle interest to the outfit overall. To complete my vision I threw on my newest pair of puffy heeled sandals, (an early holiday present to myself) as well as an amber pair of rectangular frames to really enhance the color palette I was working with. Lastly, gold jewelry was the obvious choice and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome! I loved how each garment though fairly simple, each had their own distinct element that contributed to the chicness of the look. Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

I’ve really been getting a kick out of these casual looks lately. There’s something about the simplicity of an outfit that really has its benefits. Aside from being timeless, build-able, and extremely easily to style, what’s not to love?! Personally, when I’m styling a seemingly basic ensemble, it’s usually because I’m either unsure of what to wear on that particular day, or I just really want the quality and details of the garments to speak for themselves. It should be obvious that these hiking boots were definitely the star of the show! Over the last few years I’ve basically been averaging a new pair every Fall/Winter season, and as soon as I laid eyes on these beauties, I knew they were necessary for my collection. Aside from being insanely versatile due to the neutral color palette, I loved the chunky construction and pop of orange for added interest. From there, the rest of the outfit came together pretty effortlessly. Within the same week, I had also purchased this tan, mock-neck sweater which came in the most beautiful cool-toned shade I had ever seen. Initially, I was torn because I was considering pairing this with a skirt or dress of some sort, but in the end, I kept it basic with a pair of lightly distressed black jeans. There’s something that really brings back thoughts of my youth whenever I wear a pair of denim with slits along the knees; most likely because I used to attempt to recreate this trend during my DIY days (sorry Mom, lol). With my look nearly complete, I wanted to make sure to include a few more elements that would elevate the outfit overall while still capturing the essence of the season. I happened to stumble upon a quaint flower shop and purchased an interesting stalk of textured flowers that perfectly aligned with the hues in my outfit. For a final chic touch, I grabbed my cat-eye tortoise frames, some delicate gold jewelry, and was ready for a brisk stroll on a sunny Autumn day. As the temperatures continue to drop, I truly begin to appreciate and pay more attention to the textures and fabrics that I bring into my closet. Afterall, tis’ the season to be cozy!

The holiday season is by far one of my favorite times of year, and though my excitement never ceases to dwindle, there are a few things that I tend to find a bit repetitive. Aside from the decorations, music, and events, I sometimes wish there were new style trends to experiment with aside from the typical, metallic, sequins, fur, etc. This year, I decided to make a conscious effort to try out some new things with my holiday looks and so far I feel like I’m off to a great start! While making a point not to stray too far from the festive sparkle, I was thrilled when I found this pair of trousers. The rosey hue added a uniqueness that in my opinion was even more eye-catching than the traditional silver or gold; and I loved it! With each look I style for my blog, it’s rare that there isn’t a point of slight difficulty; and in this case, it was deciding on a top. Because I had my mind set on not creating a look that was blatantly “obvious,” it took me awhile to find a piece that was formal enough while still being a bit unexpected. After going back and forth with two drastically different tops, I made the executive decision to layer them and, “VOILA;” the look came to life! I think the juxtaposition of the lace turtleneck and distressed graphic t-shirt made for the most amazing contrast that somehow meshed seamlessly without disrupting the sleek tailoring of the bottoms. Also because of the blend of casual and classic elements, this is a look that can easily be worn in a variety of settings and stand out amongst the crowd! With so many textures going on, I chose to keep my footwear minimal with a pair of black heeled sandals; and though I didn’t grab a bag, I decided to wear my silver geometric earrings for an extra pop of glitz. This ensemble totally gave me “rock&roll-chic” vibes, and I loved how it turned out.  Comment below if you prefer to keep it traditional or mix it up with your annual holiday looks. Stay tuned for more festive outfits to come, until next time!

Distressed denim has been a leading trend for quite some time and when applied to skirts, it makes for the most perfect combination of feminine edge. While also being an homage to the 90’s style, I can’t see how one can go wrong rocking this look in any variation. Check out the pieces I’ve gathered below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Until next time!

On the heels of the distressed denim trend, it seems as though the fashion world has decided to take it one step further and add bleach to the mix. While this is not something I’ve seen consistently since the early 2000’s, it seems as though bleached denim pieces are reappearing in retailers and planning to make bold statements for the Spring & Summer. Check out the pieces I’ve gathered below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Happy shopping; until next time!

I think we’re all finally approaching the time of year where everyone is over the frigid temperatures. These days, it’s been more of a struggle than ever to find the effort to remain comfortable, chic, and warm when getting dressed. That said, I’ve been reaching for more basics and staple pieces, rather than going for crazy statement-making garments. For this outfit, I kept it very simple with a sleeveless black turtleneck and my extremely worn-in, distressed boyfriend jeans. This is the perfect look for those days when you literally feel like you have “nothing to wear” or just don’t have the time and energy to waste. On the upside, the great thing about styling classic pieces is that they provide the perfect foundation for layering and/or playing around with different accessories. To add a little personality and edge to this particular ensemble, I added some fishnet tights and my new black flats with an over-sized bow detail. These two pieces alone, easily transformed this look and made it much more fun and put-together. In order to balance out the hints of skin I had showing on my lower half, I threw on one of my favorite neutral faux fur coats for a bit more drama and contrast to the denim. I’ve found that no matter how casual your outfit may be, throwing on a little accent (or a lot lol) of fur will always elevate it and bring an element of chicness. To finish off the look, I decided to incorporate my prescription glasses which I wear a lot more than most people probably know. Whether worn practically or just for style, I love experimenting with different frames and definitely plan on adding more to my collection for the days when I feel like switching up my look. All in all, I think this outfit is a clear example of how less can definitely be more and simple can still be bold. Until next time!

Hands down, this shoot has easily become my new favorite! I loved everything about it from the outfit itself, to the location, even the weather was perfect! As usual, I wanted to construct a look using simple pieces that contained eye-catching, stand out elements and I think I successfully achieved just that! In my opinion, this outfit pretty much consisted of what I would consider the basic “closet essentials.” Because the bag was the busiest piece with all of the patchwork details, I decided to pair it with a crisp white button up and a distressed denim pencil skirt. This shirt is probably one of the most interesting tops in my closet and it fully encompasses the true meaning of “business in the front, party in the back.” Over the last few spring and summer seasons, denim skirts have also made quite the comeback and this silhouette happens to be my personal fave. I kept the footwear pretty minimal as well with my single strap mules, another closet staple. When building up your wardrobe, it is important to at least begin with foundational pieces that can easily translate into different looks and can be worn across two or more seasons. Lately, I have also noticed quirkier pieces making their way into fashion, so when I saw this bag I knew it would be the perfect accessory to add a cool pop to any ensemble. I had a lot of fun with this shoot and I hope you guys enjoy this post. Until next time!

Leather. Denim. Knit. Fringe. These are pretty much my holy grail staple textures whenever I have no idea what to wear. By pairing two or more of these fabrics, I’m always guaranteed to walk away with a chic and casual look that can get me through the day. All of the pieces used for this look have been in my closet for at least a year and never seem to go out of style. I have quite a few leather jackets in various colors, but in my opinion a classic black is always your best bet, especially if you’re in a rush. My second fave is distressed denim. Like leather jackets, they seem to just get better with time and wear. I’ve had these since high school (believe it or not) and still can’t seem to let them go! Since we’re still facing the cold temperatures chunky knits are almost always a must. I love this one because it is one of the few non-oversized sweaters in my closet and the thick collar provides extra warmth and style. Fringe is a texture that was introduced during the summer months in relation to the 70’s trend, but can definitely be incorporated into all seasons. I’m truly a fan of it because it adds movement and interest to any outfit. Along with these classic pieces, I finished the look off with a timeless red lip and was on my way. Chic looks don’t always have to be complex, you know. Until next time! 😉

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am a true holiday fanatic! The weeks leading up to Christmas is probably one of my favorite times of the year, and living in New York I get my full share of the holiday spirit. I am a sucker for all of the decorations, lights, and most importantly the shopping! Though this is not necessarily a “holiday look,” I wanted to show my excitement by doing a shoot in one of the most festive areas of the city: Rockefeller Center. This area truly becomes like something out of a Christmas Carol during the holidays and with the annual tree lighting happening tonight, I just couldn’t resist! Now on to the outfit. This look is minimal and in my opinion consists of a lot of basics that anyone could already have in their closet. The purpose of this outfit was to show that simple pieces can still make a statement. I was beyond excited to debut my satin detailed vest that I was lucky enough to get from the Balmain x H&M collaboration, even after the site crashed. To add a little texture and edge to the look I grabbed my favorite distressed jeans but still kept the look refined with a crisp white button up shirt and closed toe pumps. To me, you can never go wrong with looks like this because they always bring an element of “chic” to any occasion. So are you as pumped as I am for the holidays? Make sure that no matter what your plans are, you enjoy time with your loved ones and look fashionable doing it! 🙂

Ok, I’ll admit it. Any opportunity I get to wear boyfriend jeans and heels I take full advantage of, sue me! I don’t know what it is about this combo but it is truly one of my favorites. It could be the drastic contrast of the two pieces or just the fact that I am obsessed with heels and will literally throw them on with any and everything. Regardless, heels can elevate any look even on your most casual of days. For this ensemble I opted for a light salmon pair of distressed jeans to add a pop of color for the season, and finished the look off with some multicolored lucite heels to add a bold statement. Because the bottom half of this outfit was so intense, I kept the top half extremely simple while still adding a bit of interest with the cut out tank and faux leather biker vest to match the edginess of the jeans. With this look accessories can definitely be left minimal. I challenge you to try switching things up and reach for some heels even on those more relaxed days. Casual doesn’t always have to equal flats you know! 😉
