I’ve come to accept the fact that there are certain textiles that I will always gravitate towards regardless of what season we are in. Currently, my love for knits are at an all time high and I refuse to be ashamed of it! For months I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect co-ord that was of quality and did not break the bank; and though it took awhile, I finally found the perfect option. Obviously we are in the midst of Summer, but I still wanted to have a matching set that incorporated pants because for starters it’s something I currently do not own, and I personally believe they are easier to dress-up and elevate than other more casual versions. Purchasing the off-white color way was also a no-brainer because it captured the chic and clean vibe I was looking for. Styling garments like these are always exciting because since you’re essentially working with a blank canvas, the options to accessorize are endless! That being said, because my foundation was already quite stark, I didn’t want to add anything that would throw off the synergy of the look overall. Recently I had also purchased a new pair of tortoise sunnies and absolutely loved the pop of interest they brought when incorporated with this outfit. To further highlight the warm cognac tones, I grabbed a quilted crossbody bag. Lastly, to match the hardware on my purse, I threw on a few gold jewelry pieces and a neutral pair of strappy heeled sandals to complete the look! I truly enjoy an effortless, show-stopping ensemble that makes a statement without needing an abundance of frills and add-ons. Especially with the intense heat we’ve been experiencing lately, I’m choosing to keep my personal style as simple as possible at the moment. More often than not, there’s usually one specific piece that becomes the catalyst when creating my outfits. In this specific instance it was this fun vinyl tote from Jeff Wan. I was lucky enough to have been selected for this collaboration and though I was excited for the styling, it took me some time to figure out where to start. Based on the style of bag as well as the bold pineapple stamp, I immediately decided to use the beach as my theme and inspiration. I had already had this one-shoulder asymmetric top in my closet and had been meaning to use it in a blog post since the day I brought it home. During my shopping session, I was initially leaning towards a flowy wide-legged pant, but unfortunately could not find anything that suited my vision. After browsing the sale section, I also picked up cream blazer as an addition to my wardrobe staples; with no intention of using it for this particular look. As I arrived at my final store location of the day, these striped shorts caught my attention without hesitation I knew that they would be perfect! They instantly reminded me of those giant beach umbrellas and before I knew it, my look was coming together right before my eyes. Because my bag had brown accents, I decided to incorporate a pair of suede mules in the same color to add a bit of cohesiveness. To elevate the look, I made a last-minute decision to drape the blazer I had purchased over my shoulders, which really helped to provide dimension and a touch of sophistication to the ensemble overall. For jewelry, in efforts to highlight the gold button detail on my sleeve, I added a matching pair of dangling earrings and was ready to roll! This outfit truly gave me all of the chic vacation feels and I am undoubtedly pleased with how it turned out. White boots have been a major trend for the past few seasons and while I am a fan, sometimes the starkness of the contrast can come off a bit harsh for certain looks. Luckily, there’s a new alternative that I’ve grown to love just as much! Cream or neutral toned footwear can serve the same purpose of brightening up any ensemble, but in a slightly more subtle way. I also feel like they are a lot more complimentary of other colors and versatile, whether you’re styling a monochromatic look or something more vibrant. Check out the options I’ve rounded up below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks! Also comment below if you’re a fan of this trend and how you would wear it. Until next time!

In the spirit of taking on new challenges in 2019, I ended up styling a look that I honestly shocked myself with. While it wasn’t the garments that were outside of my comfort zone, but the COLOR that truly made me think twice about a few of my life choices (dramatic I know). If anyone knows me, it’s no secret that I’m not a “pink” type of chick. That being said, coming up with new ways to wear the same black, white, and grey pieces during the Winter season can get a bit stale. I’ve had this salmon colored ribbed turtleneck for quite some time and simply thought of it as another basic piece to layer with when I wanted to add a pop of color to my ensemble. During a recent shopping trip however, I stumbled upon this plaid midi-skirt with a variety of similar shades, in addition to stripes of blush, and white. I couldn’t help but pick it up, as it was definitely striking, but I wasn’t exactly sure if it was “me.” After doing a few more laps and even leaving the store, I eventually decided to commit to the rosy garment hoping all would work out. It wasn’t until I got home and began rummaging through my drawers that I saw the outfit coming together right before my eyes! In all honesty, I thought it was a risky move to pair the skirt with a top of essentially the same tone, but the monochromatic lover in me was all for it! By this point I was sold on the vision and decided to play off of the plaid pattern further by incorporating my cream calf boots, which I had been itching to style for what has felt like decades! The shoes definitely gave a nod to the chicness of the 60’s and helped tie everything together in the most perfect way. Lastly, I wanted to add a bag as a final touch; however, because I was working with a fairly light color palette, I didn’t want anything that would appear too harsh. As a compromise, I decided on a brown bucket bag with crocodile embossed leather. To compliment the silver accents, I threw on my favorite pair of geometric earrings and was ready to go! With the temperatures in the northeast finally starting to consistently feel like Spring, I thought it was only right that I take advantage of the warmth and sunshine and break out a few new pieces I’ve recently purchased. It’s no secret that the ruffle trend is literally EVERYWHERE and not going away any time soon. Retailers and designers have done an amazing job creating pieces that can suit the style of the more subtle fashionista, to the most dramatic. Since I find myself to be somewhere in the middle,  I gravitated towards this flowy blouse with layered, ruffle sleeves. While this piece came in many different variations, from button-up options to even A-line dresses, the movement and simplicity of this top had me sold. The great thing about white tops is that they can go with just about anything; the downside however is that it leaves you with endless options when trying to style an outfit. After a few weeks of pondering, I came across this beautiful cream colored, woven skirt and fell in love! This piece incorporates so many of my favorite details, from the length, to the laced up drawstring, and raw unfinished hem; I just couldn’t resist! Because I wanted to tailor this look to our current season and not go too Summer-y, I decided to style it with ankle boots instead of any open-toed footwear. I loved how the brown tortoise heel added some warmth to the ensemble while still contrasting nicely with the lighter tones. To complete this look, I threw on a hot pink cross-body bag for a fun pop of color and was ready to roll! I was actually pretty shocked by my interest in this bag as I’m usually not the “pink,” type of girl. That said, it’s always nice to step outside of your comfort zone every now and then and try something new; you might be surprised. Until next time!
