*Cues Music* It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you…

In all seriousness though, with everything going on in our country and across the globe, I was left feeling extremely uninspired and unmotivated to shoot my usual content. That being said, I am finally ready to get back into the swing of things and showcase some of the pieces I have purchased during this new quarantined reality. Baby-doll dresses are not something I usually gravitate towards as, due to their shapeless silhouette, they can sometimes make you appear larger than you actually are. To my surprise however, I was greatly intrigued by this neutral colored frock and decided to give it a try. (HINT: Because these dresses are so voluminous you can almost always size down!) Upon receiving the garment, I was instantly sold! The effortless design gave it all of the qualities of the perfect Summer styling piece; chic, casual, and comfortable! I was also free to accessorize however I liked because of the muted color. For footwear, I chose to add my my chunky flatform sandals to the ensemble and my tri-colored cross-body bag featuring gold hardware. In efforts to tie everything together, I finalized the look with an elevated aviator style of sunnies and was ready for a picnic or curbside dining at one of my favorite restaurants. While I’m sure we are all still getting adjusted to the new ways of the world, it does feel good to get back to my passion. Stay tuned for more content on the way, and until next time!

My holiday attire series would not be complete without an appropriate ensemble for the office and/or all other work related functions. As a corporate girl, happy hour invites are a regular part of the culture and during the holiday season it is to be expected on an even larger scale. In the event the occasion calls for something other than an ugly Christmas sweater, I like to be prepared with something chic and subtly festive than can be reused at a later date. I actually saw this pistachio colored leather dress while shopping for an October island vacation, and though I wasn’t sure of what to do with it at the time, I knew I couldn’t just leave it sitting in my cart! As soon as I received it and tried it on, I could instantly tell it would be the perfect garment for any celebratory events; and when the opportunity arose, I was able to test it out first hand at the company party this year. To dress it up but still keep the frock as the focal piece, I used gold and black accents with pieces I already had in my wardrobe. My tights were actually from my 2018 NYE ensemble and the ankle booties, though slightly more casual, still helped to anchor the look in a seamless way with their metallic accents. To punch up the glam even more, I threw on my layered chain necklace and matching teardrop earrings with metallic flecks. Though I couldn’t pick an overall favorite, I truly loved the versatility that each outfit represented. In my opinion, it’s not about being the most obvious with your looks, but capturing the essence of the season in a sophisticated way. Comment below your favorite of the 3 options and if you would wear them to any other holiday parties/gatherings I did not mention. Until next time!

Of all the days to wear a monochrome-cream outfit, I would choose a day when it was pouring outside. As we move out of the Summer months, unfortunately the risk of unfavorable weather conditions increase. That being said, since I tend to shoot most of my looks outside, it is nice that I live in a major city where there are tons of amazing locations indoors as well, specifically for times like this. In efforts to escape the downpour, I was lucky enough to stumble upon an eccentric boutique named, “American Two Shot.” As soon as I stepped inside and saw the fusion of music, fashion, and photography, as well as a plethora of other quirky trinkets, I knew I had found the perfect spot! Coincidentally, their front display also had the same contrasting palette as my ensemble so it was a minimal match made in heaven! My look was pretty much inspired by off-duty 90’s model vibes, so I chose to style a sleek sleeveless ribbed turtleneck and wide-legged trousers in the same color. I wanted to keep it simple while also making it a point to dispel any, “no white after Labor Day” rumors. I loved how the thick black belt helped to clearly define each piece, and the silver hardware allowed me to pile on my matching accessories that I’ve literally been obsessed with lately. To be completely honest, everything I mentioned thus far was exactly how I showed up; and unfortunately, I still felt like my look was incomplete. Though I was prepared to shoot my outfit as is, I knew I would only be about 85% happy with the outcome overall. As I began to look around the shop and take in all of the details, I instantly stopped when I came across a table full of super cool and unique frames. As I began to do a scan of the styles, my eyes were drawn to a vintage-looking matte black pair featuring circle lenses. The store employees had graciously offered to let me use anything in the store to enhance my shoot, and as soon as I tried on those sunnies I knew I had found the missing link! All in all, the photo shoot ended up being successful and I was able to find a new place to shop in the process which was definitely a win-win for me! Comment below your favorite piece(s) from this look and how you feel about the “Winter white” trend. Until next time!

For this collaboration with Who What Wear, I was challenged to style one article of clothing 3 different ways. Though excited, as this isn’t something I typically showcase on my blog, I was also a bit nervous not because I felt incapable but because I wasn’t choosing the item myself. That being said, I was so relieved to see that the item chosen for me was right up my alley and a wardrobe staple that I could easily style in a variety of ways. This double-breasted, pin striped blazer is the perfect Fall essential for layering over transitional pieces and adding a more tailored element to any ensemble. For my first look, I decided to keep things very chic and sleek by pairing it with a turtleneck that I layered under a satin camisole, along with black skinnys and a pair of minimal black pumps. To me, this look gave more of a business casual vibe, or “boss babe” if you will. Overall, I loved the way this look turned out and it definitely made me feel strong and confident!

I would say that my second look is for the more casual & cool girls out there. Putting this outfit together was extremely effortless and I think it showed in the way the pieces complimented each other. I chose to do a bit of print-mixing and found the perfect red, leopard print frock to do so. To keep things easy, I threw on some sneakers and a pair of mesh socks for a cute unexpected detail and was out the door. In efforts to add a few more accessories, I grabbed my black cross-body bag with silver hardware and cat-eye frames, which I definitely think helped play off of the edgy vibe without being too overpowering.

Last but certainly not least, I decided to end with a trendy street-style look. As we are well into the Autumn season, I felt like I couldn’t finish this collaboration without incorporating a bit of corduroy. Luckily, I was able to find the most amazing flared trousers which made all of my 70’s dreams come true. To keep them as the focal point of the look, I paired the pants with a simple white t-shirt and added a some gold layered necklaces which I’ve been absolutely obsessed with lately. After throwing on my black booties, I completed this look with a dark vampy lip and draped the blazer over my shoulders for a final touch.  Personally, I loved all of these looks for different reasons and I feel like they reflected the versatility of my everyday style in the best way. Let me know in the comments which outfit was your favorite and if you would’ve styled this blazer in a way that I didn’t think of. Until next time!

Day 4 started off very grey as the weather was definitely not on our side. During NYFW looking chic pretty much trumps any ounce of practicality, however since the rain came as an unwanted accessory I chose to style an ensemble that had elements of both. After strutting around in heels the last 3 days, I was more than happy to throw on a pair of leopard print booties. To keep up with my theme of incorporating bold colors, I added a red patent leather mini to the mix, and a cream colored open back blouse for a more delicate touch. After grabbing my over-sized leather jacket and cat-eye frames (despite the lack of sunshine), I was ready to head to my first show of the day by the brand, Nonie. It was quite the coincidence that the designs incorporated similarly structured elements to what I was wearing, as well as more feminine pieces such as silk blouses and vibrant wrap dresses. I could honestly picture myself in every garment displayed from this collection and am excited to see what new creations the upcoming seasons bring.

After taking a break for brunch and catching up with more familiar faces, I was able to get a behind the scenes look at all of the preparation that goes into setting up for a runway show. This was my first time going backstage and to have the opportunity to do so before the Ruby Fang presentation, was beyond exciting. Surprisingly, though there was so much going on from making up the models, steaming the garments, and rehearsing the actual order of the walk, there was also a calmness among the room which gave a sense that everyone knew exactly what they needed to get done to have a successful production. I honestly still get amazed by all of the genuine connections I’ve made just from being a part of the blogger/fashion industry and I’m truly grateful for the experiences I’ve had thus far as well as the knowledge I’ve gained along the way.

My last day ended with another fashion week favorite of mine, Dan Liu. He always incorporates theatrics and creates a true story with his shows that make them truly memorable and for me, the perfect note to end my NYFW on. For this show I wore my boldest outfit yet; a bright magenta suit paired with red sneakers and sunnies to match. I layered a lace top under the suit and for maximum color saturation, added a hot pink bag to finish the look. This may have been my most enjoyable season because I told myself from the very beginning that I would not stress myself out. I made it a point to only take on what I could handle and if I missed a show or two, I didn’t allow the fomo or guilt to consume me. It was due to this mindset that I was able to get through the week relaxed and level-headed from start to finish. I’m definitely looking forward to what February has in store as well as the possibility of checking out a few new cities for fashion week next year. I hope you enjoyed my recap and until next time!

Now that the temperatures have FINALLY begun to remain consistently warm and “Spring-like,” it’s only natural that thoughts of vacations and summer Fridays become more of a priority. As a person whose mood is greatly affected by the weather, I am definitely excited for the increase of sunshine and abundance of social events that these next few seasons bring. While browsing the shops for inspiration, I didn’t even plan on buying anything but of course ended up spotting a piece that I couldn’t resist! This blue and white striped blouse fit so perfectly, I was actually tempted to wear it out of the store (after paying for it obviously, lol). There was something about this piece that just made me want to book a weekend getaway and relax by a beautiful body of water. I also loved the trendy under-wire design that added a chic structure and uniqueness to the top; setting it apart from the average button-up. Since I felt like I had already found the main focal piece of the ensemble, the challenge now was to find complimentary items to complete it. At first, I thought about settling for a pair of jeans or a cream colored skirt to highlight the stripes, yet after trying both of those options I wasn’t quite satisfied. Since I liked the look of the mini skirt however, I thought that a black version would make for a  better contrast; and after trying it on I was instantly sold! Having a darker piece on the bottom really allowed the top to stand out while still adding balance to the overall look. In efforts to keep things streamlined and sleek, I chose to incorporate my new pair of black flatform sandals for casual touch. I also want to point out that these may be the most comfortable pair of shoes I own to date! Though I loved the look as is, I definitely wanted to add a few accessories to emphasize the Spring/Summer vibe I was going for. It took me quite awhile to jump on the straw bag trend because frankly, aside from being cute in photos, I couldn’t justify them as a practical investment. That being said, when I came across this round version and saw the intricate detailing, I figured it was finally time to get on board. Since I had the beach element down, I also decided to add a pair of black chandelier earrings for some unexpected sparkle. Lastly, on the day of my shoot, I completed the look with a pair of  geometric sunnies and I couldn’t have been happier! I’m a HUGE fan of how this look came together and know for a fact I’ll be wearing it again, as well as the pieces individually, for as long as the weather will allow. Let me know your favorite item from this look in the comments below. Until next time!

There’s something about the combination of feminine and sporty that I’ve really grown to become a fan of. I think it’s something about the juxtaposition of pieces that adds an unexpected twist to any ensemble, leaving it slightly more intriguing than a look containing one cohesive style genre. I came across this particular dress during one of my visits to see my parents and knew instantly it would make for an incredible blog post. The bold color, dainty floral pattern, cut and fabric, really checked off every box for me in terms of being an item I knew I had to have. Though I didn’t leave with the gorgeous frock that particular day, I made sure to pick it up as soon as I got back to NYC! Upon trying it on, I was instantly drawn to the romantic feel of the piece as well as the effortless movement the dress created as I walked. That being said, since it was such a feminine item, I knew I wanted to incorporate something that was a little different; however I wasn’t exactly sure how it would manifest. After a few trials of different heeled shoes that were either too obvious or in my opinion underwhelming to the look overall, I remembered I had also just ordered a few pairs of shoes (thanks dad) that would be coming in the mail soon. After receiving the different styles of footwear, it wasn’t until the day of my shoot that I decided to take a chance and finish off the look with a pair of bright tomato colored sneakers. For me, this was a risky move because I wasn’t sure if the ensemble would become over-saturated with color; yet to my surprise, it was the perfect touch! At this point everything was pretty much to my liking but I wanted to add something that would complete the look as well as break up the red hues. The round ring-handled bag I chose was the best accessory I could find as it pulled out the cream shades in the dress’ print and really gave the outfit the pop I felt was missing. With so many favorites to choose from it would be impossible to rank, but this look may definitely take the lead for the Spring/Summer seasons. Comment below your opinion about mixing clothing styles and if you would try a similar look yourself. Until next time!

While we have only just begun to get a true taste of official spring weather, the anticipation has prompted me to think of what other clothing items may be on my summer wardrobe wish list. I’ve definitely been loving suits lately and knew that a light co-ord was exactly what my closet was missing. Luckily for me, retailers are quick to display their collections for the upcoming seasons so it didn’t take long to find exactly what I had envisioned! This neutral colored striped suit was right up my alley in terms of tone, fit, and overall design. The double-breasted blazer allowed for a more masculine structure, while the paper bag trousers provided a trendy yet vintage detail. Being that both pieces are so striking together as well as individually, they can easily be worn with other items I already own, which made me love the suit that much more! To keep the focus on the striped set I chose to keep it fairly simple by layering a cut out ribbed t-shirt under the jacket. At this point I was really enjoying the subtle monochrome vibes I was getting from this look. In efforts to keep everything streamlined, I decided to wear a pair of metallic mules which perfectly added a bit of interest, without overwhelming the ensemble. Finally, to continue playing off of the warm golden tones, I grabbed my round frames for a final touch. Overall, I loved how this look came together despite freezing during the actual photo shoot. The sandy hues definitely made me want to go on vacation and relax in the chicest way! Let me know in the comments below how you feel about summer suits and if they’re something you would rock this year. Until next time!

I’ve been noticing a HUGE trend involving primary colors over the last few months. For me, this was not something I could really ever see myself partaking in as I tend to gravitate towards darker, more neutral tones. That said, I purchased these trousers during my fashion week preparation and thought that they would be a nice statement piece to wear to a few shows. As it turns out I ended up loving them, and after being captured wearing them on a few different street-style blog sites(here), I knew I had to style them for a post of my own. Because these trousers are SO bright, I wanted to keep them as the focal point of the look. This is not to say that you can’t pair them with other vivid pieces, but I wanted to keep the look authentic to my personal style. To keep things fairly casual, I paired the trousers with my medium blue chambray top. I thought the combination of these garments really made for a nice transitional Spring look with a tailored flare. For a bit of dimension, I added a lace bralet underneath the top and had the shirt unbuttoned about half way to expose the delicate details. I continued to play off of the black stripe detail on the pants and added a light over-sized cardigan for some added movement. To accessorize, I opted for my frequently used leather quilted purse and my sleek heeled booties for a bit of height. Though fairly minimal, I was quite pleased with how this turned out. With a peachy-nude lip and my gold aviator frames, I was ready for an outdoor brunch with friends or a chic business meeting. I hope you guys enjoyed this look and let me know what you think of the primary color trend in the comments below. Until next time!
