I can hardly believe that this will be my final blog post of 2016. That said, of course I had to bring a bit of glitz as we quickly approach one of the biggest party night’s of the year. From the moment I saw this cold-shoulder embellished knit I knew it was definitely worthy of a photo shoot, however, I was a bit stumped with the direction I wanted to go in for this look. Because of the top’s neutral color, I had no problem finding other pieces to pair it with; it was just a matter of whether I wanted to dress it up or dress it down. After searching through the archives of my previous looks, I decided to go with something a bit more formal. Metallic pleated midi skirts have literally been EVERYWHERE this season, and though I was hesitant to jump on the trend for that reason, there was something about this skirt in particular that I couldn’t resist. For me, I think it was the fact that the material was similar to a soft suede instead of the typical rigid, foiled texture. Also, though it may be hard to see, I liked the uniqueness of the metallic accents and how they were scattered across the skirt with a marbled effect, rather than the usual opaque coated style. Overall, I loved how these 2 pieces complimented each other and to keep them as the focal point, I chose black accessories to let them shine. I am super excited to see what 2017 has in store and can’t wait to show you guys some of the ideas I’ve been working on. I hope everyone has a fun and safe NYE. See you next year! 🙂

The off the shoulder trend has been popping up everywhere lately, and I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t slightly obsessed! This is a cut that in my opinion is flattering on any shape or size and adds an extra element of chic-ness to any look. Below are some of the pieces that have stood out to me lately, happy shopping! The woman’s neckline and collar bone is one of the only parts of the body, in my opinion, that is always flattering regardless of shape or size. Luckily for us girls, the off the shoulder or “cold shoulder” trend is extremely popular right now. This horizontal cut has been showing up in most retailers in the style of tops, dresses, jumpsuits, and much more. Naturally, I had to find a piece that worked for my wardrobe, and I did just that! Ironically enough, I actually told myself at the beginning of the summer that I was going to steer clear of rompers as they tend to make me look shorter and sometimes, childish; but I found one that I just couldn’t resist! I love the layered effect of this piece and how the cut gives it a much more elegant and chic look, compared to the basic casual play-suit. I also love how the wide vertical stripes make a bold statement, while still being simple enough to be paired with almost anything. Being that this piece was the focal point of the look, I kept the rest of the ensemble neutral with nude heels and dainty jewelry. Just like jumpsuits, rompers are another easy all-in-one look that will keep you looking put together with very minimal effort. So tell me what you think about this trend in the comments below; love it, hate it, just don’t get it?? Until next time!
