Seasons. The subtle reminder of the end of one chapter, and the beginning of another. Ironically, the mirroring of nature and life can be funny at times, disheartening, yet also quite beautiful. As we come to the end of Q1 and the city slowly becomes more alive, I am welcoming these changes while finding the lessons in the inevitable reset. While that may come off a bit bleak, I am honestly quite content. As a person who suffers from self-diagnosed seasonal depression, nothing has made me happier than a few consistent days of sunshine, blue skies, and the ability to leave my heavier pieces at home. If you follow me on IG (you should, lol), I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my latest “5 essentials” series. This has allowed me the opportunity to 1. shop my own closet, and 2. figure out the items that may be missing if I had to start over with a minimal, capsule wardrobe. So far I’ve done coats, jackets, and skirts, with many more ideas to come! While I do have quite the collection of outerwear, there was one fabric I noticed that was missing; tweed. I also tend to gravitate towards Earth tones, so when I saw this stunning cropped jacket with shoulder pads and silver antique-looking buttons, I knew I had to have it! This garment would obviously be the focal point of my ensemble and because of it’s slightly “mature” presence, I was immediately inclined to add some juxtaposition by pairing it with casual, streamlined items. The weather was absolutely gorgeous on this particular day, so a ribbed cut-out tank and jeans seemed like the perfect fit! BREAKING NEWS: I recently bought 2 new pairs of flats! If you’ve been following any of the recent trend reports, it’s no secret that ballet flats have been having a HUGE moment; and while I’m naturally a heels girly, I couldn’t resist trying out a few styles that I thought would be cute to incorporate during the warmer months ahead. I was able to tie in the rhinestone details with my jewelry and geometric sunnies, and as a wildcard, opted for a croc-embossed grey bag for an extra element of interest. I absolutely loved how this look came together and I look forward to seeing how my fashion expression evolves within this new era. Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

Every now and then, I too get tired of my heels and will opt for a pair of sneakers (shocking, I know). While I don’t have many to choose from, the two staples that I strongly feel are a must in all wardrobes are an all white option as well as a more vibrant or colorful style. Especially as we move into the warmer months and are out and about more, having comfortable footwear is an absolute must! Aside from that, the juxtaposition of having an extremely feminine dress or blouse paired with casual trainers, is something I’ve always been a fan of when it comes to styling. Spring is definitely a season where I feel like denim truly gets its time to shine! Recently I’ve refreshed my own collection with a few new pieces including this acid wash dress featuring voluminous sleeves. Though I could have easily paired this frock with any style of heeled sandal, I was not satisfied with that idea. As a last minute decision the morning of this particular shoot, the light bulb finally went off and I knew that my multi-colored kicks were the missing piece to the ensemble. They instantly brought an element of playfulness and interest that no other shoe in my closet could’ve done. For accessories, I had been waiting for the perfect moment to style this cream colored baguette bag. On top of being obsessed with the 90’s reference, I couldn’t resist the chunky gold chain that made the bag an instant showstopper! For jewelry I chose to stay consistent by matching my metals accordingly, and as a final touch added some aviator frames. I felt so comfortable in this look and am interested to see if this is the year I finally transition into becoming a full on sneakerhead (KIDDING, LOL)! Recently, I’ve tried to develop a much more conscious outlook when it comes to shopping. Instead of just seeing an item that I think is “cute” and immediately reaching for my wallet, I now give myself time to really decide whether or not this piece can make an impact in my wardrobe. Cost per wear also plays a major factor these days in deciding if I’m going to pull the trigger and leave the store with a particular garment or accessory. Specifically, I am referring to this Marc Jacobs cross-body which I have been eyeing up since before the holidays. Initially I thought I would receive it as a Christmas gift, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it remained on my wish-list a bit longer. While it is not a piece that would necessarily break the bank, it is definitely priced at a point that required an extra level of thought. That aside, this particular bag literally comes in every color combination you can think of! Because of this, I really wanted to make sure that the color-way I chose was different than anything I already owned, but also versatile enough that I could wear it across multiple seasons. Since I already had a few black bags, I knew that I was leaning towards something that was lighter in color, but could also serve as a neutral. After a few more weeks of deliberation, I finally settled on a taupe, cream, and blush option featuring gold accents, along with a strap highlighting neon and silver details. As far as I was concerned this bag literally covered all of the basis! It was trendy, wearable, and chic while still honing in on a few classic elements. I knew this accessory would be the focal point of the look so a black, white, and denim palette seemed like the way to go. While my jeans and lucite heels were already wardrobe staples, I decided to play off of the “business casual” trend and tried styling a classic white button-up shirt; something I haven’t done in quite some time. I loved the over-sized fit, balloon sleeves, and tiny cutouts which really made it unique. Though I wasn’t sure if this would actually suit me, I decided to take a chance and layered a black bralette over the top for an unexpected, Parisian flare. With a final addition of gold jewelry, I was absolutely thrilled with how this look turned out! If I had it my way, I would’ve jumped on the first flight to Milan fashion week; maybe next season! Comment below, your favorite part of this ensemble and if you’re also a more thoughtful shopper when deciding to add new editions to your closet. Until next time!

There are a few trends when it comes to fashion that I am considerably particular about, and animal prints are definitely at the top of that list. While I do often view these patterns as what some would call an “elevated neutral,” I still think that there are ways to wear them that can be more flattering than others. Personally, especially when it comes to the leopard motif, I tend to steer clear of variations that are very warm-toned with strong underlying hues of yellow and orange. Ideally, the styles that stick out to me the most are more on the taupe side in color, with abstract looking shapes that make up the design. When I initially saw this frock, I was drawn to it however, I wasn’t sure if it was too early in the year for such a bold garment. Moments later after deciding to purchase it, I concluded that my styling strategy would be to tone the dress down with dark, more winter appropriate accessories. To truly ground this look and simultaneously add a bit of contrast, I chose to add a black and tan pair of snow boots as well as my Nike socks for a sporty/casual flare. I’ve had these shoes for a about a year and absolutely love how warm and durable they are, even on the coldest of days. Though the ensemble was nearly complete, I knew I still had a few more pieces to add that would really pull my vision together. Though the major selling points for me, with regard to this dress, was the neckline and fit, I wanted to accentuate the silhouette even further by adding a thick black belt which in turn also broke up the print in a chic way. To finish off the ensemble while adding a few more 90’s inspired pieces; my nylon mini bag, mixed metal earrings, and dark frames were the perfect elements needed to seamlessly take this outfit to the next level.  Comment below your thoughts on this look and if you are a fan of animal prints during the Winter months, or if you prefer to reserve them for warmer climates. Until next time!

It’s officially “coat season” and at this point, my only goal is to balance a level of comfort, warmth, and style. It’s always so funny to me, how every year it seems like cold-weather pieces hit retailers entirely too soon, but before we know it we’re in the midst of Winter still complaining about not having the gloves, scarf, or outerwear we wanted. This year however, I was determined to just go for it; and though at the time I felt like it was too early to be purchasing a coat, I’m so glad I did! I had been eyeing this blue plaid number for at least 3 weeks before pulling the trigger. Aside from it being eye-catching due to the bold color alone, what really sold me was the overall fit! It’s very easy for long wool coats with belted closures to fall into that “bathrobe-esqe” category, especially when they’re over-sized. On the contrary, this piece was constructed beautifully and executed a level of tailoring that truly shined through as soon as I put it on. As this coat was the focal piece, I wanted to layer more neutral items underneath that would only enhance it in a complimentary way. Since there were black accents in the plaid design, I chose to use that shade as well as white for an overall contrasting color palette. I had been gifted this off the shoulder frock during the Summer and decided to use it as an anchor for the rest of the ensemble. From there, I paired it with a striped turtleneck for added warmth and dimension. Lastly, for footwear, it was no-brainer to throw on my slouchy OTK leather boots and silver accessories for a bit of shine. The fact that we have roughly a month left until 2020 really has prompted me to exist in a state of reflection and gratitude. I am thankful for how far I’ve come, where I am currently, and where I’m going despite the hardships that may arise along the way. Comment below your favorite piece from this look and what you are most grateful for. Until next time!

There are two types of people in this world when it comes to gathering for the holidays. Those who throw on the comfiest thing they own to lounge in, and those who buy an entire outfit just to sit on the couch and take photos while waiting for the festivities to begin; can you guess which category I fall into? Nonetheless, regardless of where you fit in, I’ve decided to round up a few pieces that I could certainly see myself rocking this turkey day! Whether you’re with friends, family, or a mixture of the two, have an amazing holiday and cherish these moments while you can. Don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks and until next time!

The time has come where the crisp Fall air seems to be here to stay and honestly, I’m ready for it! Over the last couple weeks, I’ve slowly been pulling my outerwear from the back of the closet and incorporating heavier garments into my daily looks. I’ve worked with the Eggie brand quite a bit this year, so when I was asked to select a few pieces from their latest collection I didn’t hesitate. My favorite item which stood out to me the most was this over-sized vegan leather coat. I constantly reference the 90’s when it comes to some of my style inspiration and this particular piece completely fit the mold. The cut, trench-like structure, and fabric reminded me so much of the jackets my Mom used to wear and I knew I had to have it! As far as transitional looks go, I really wanted to keep this one simple and essentially highlight a capsule collection of pieces that I feel every person should own and keep in heavy rotation this season. When it comes to the basics, a turtleneck and a good mid-wash pair of jeans can be the foundation for a variety of looks and take you through 3 out of the 4 seasons, if you reside in the northeast. Since I decided to focus on the simplicity and chicness of each garment I knew that accessories and shoes would play a major role in tying this ensemble together. For footwear, I chose to recycle an older pair of heeled sandals that I still absolutely love and seemed to compliment the wash of the denim perfectly. I was also quite pleased with how the navy metallic finish stood out and popped against the other darker pieces. For jewelry I decided to go with all silver to really accentuate my statement clutch and keep everything sleek and uniform. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but in my opinion, simplicity is truly underrated. An outfit like this one can take you from the office, to happy hour, dinner with the family, or even just shopping on a random afternoon. As imperative as I think it is to cultivate your style and identity, I think it’s just as important to appreciate those go-to classic pieces that will keep you looking fashionable for decades to come. Until next time!

This content is sponsored by Pantene. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

As a girl who stays in low-maintenance protective hair styles, I was beyond excited when I got offered the opportunity to work with Pantene for a second time to try out their new Waterless Collection. As a young professional on the go, I have no shame in stating that I do not wash my hair every day. That being said, most of the time I do prefer a sleek hairstyle that I can get a few days wear out of with minimal product build up. Pantene has always focused on healthy, beautiful hair to support boldness and confidence in women. For me, what’s even more inspiring is the way they have adapted their products to suit every type of hair texture, color, and thickness. As my hair is more on the kinky/curly side, I was sent the Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam, Pantene Curl Affair Curl Reshaping Cream, and Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist. Each of these products are designed to reduce frizz while restoring volume and moisture.

When I decided to demo these products I began on freshly washed hair. As instructed, I first applied the Curl Affair Curl Reshaping Cream on fairly damp hair and let it air dry for a typical defined wash-and-go style. This product is infused with argan oil, amino acids, omega-9, Pro-Vitamin B5 and is free of alcohol, parabens and sulfates. It can also be used to reshape curls, twist, or scrunch through dry hair. For softly defined curls, apply to damp hair then diffuse or air dry.

A few days later as my hair began to expand and become fluffier, I used the Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam at my roots to minimize any unwanted oils. Since I wanted to rock my natural hair out for a day or so more, I only massaged this product near the application site and did not brush it out, though that is an option. Pantene’s Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam is a lusciously whipped sulfate-free, paraben-free, non-drying cleansing cloud that was made to dissolve oil and refresh your style!

Finally, when I was ready to pull my hair back into my signature bun, I used the Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist on my hair from mid-length to ends. Since I had already used another product on my roots, I made sure to avoid that area and simply brushed it through before adding gel for optimal sleekness. The Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist conditions your strands thanks to a blend of light-as-air hydrators that are evenly distributed in every tiny droplet in this paraben-free, sulfate-free micro-mist. To use, hold the can 6-8 inches away from your hair for ideal coverage.

My experience with these products was nothing short of a pleasant one and I definitely intend on incorporating them into my weekly hair regimen and possibly as future staples. These products have completely transformed my “non-wash” routine! The Pantene Waterless Collection definitely surprised me in terms of how I was able to extend the time in between wash days and really make my hairstyles last. The Pantene Waterless Collection can be found for a limited time at CVS for purchase and I highly recommend giving them a try; your hair will not regret it! Until next time!

Check out the retailers I’ve rounded up below offering Labor Day sales both online and in-store. Have a great rest of your weekend, and until next time!

I find suits to be such staple pieces that truly never get the credit they deserve for being one of the most powerful, yet classic looks an individual can wear. Especially for women, they tend to make a chic yet strong statement when worn no matter what the occasion may be. While I do have a few favorites of my own, in a variety of styles, this one was definitely unlike anything in my current wardrobe. The fit itself, would probably make this co-ord the most feminine set I own. From the cropped skinny trousers and double-breasted jacket, I couldn’t help but feel like the baddest girl boss in town! Unlike most separates, suits allow the focus to remain on the accessories since the outfit is essentially complete from the beginning. Because of the eye-catching details, it was imperative that I let the pinstriped garments speak for themselves and not be overshadowed by the bells and whistles. To coordinate with the black button accents, I chose a sleek pair of mules as footwear. In efforts to brighten things up, since I was working with a fairly dark color palette, I didn’t hesitate to grab my baby blue studded bucket bag. It’s no secret that I love a good cross-body and this one in particular added the perfect pop of color to break up the ensemble and add some dimension to the look as a whole. Lastly, a pair of statement earrings never hurt, so I was more than happy to incorporate them and bring a more formal, glam element to the outfit. I loved how this look was the perfect balance of sophistication and edginess. On a more casual day, I wouldn’t hesitate to throw on a crisp pair of white sneakers to really incorporate some sporty elements as well. Let me know in the comments if you prefer more traditional, or classic styles of suits and how you would style them for the Fall. Until next time!
