Now that Summer is officially here, the color trends are as bright as ever and I can honestly say it has forced me to step outside of my comfort zone even more! There aren’t many shades I completely dislike but if I had to pick one, at least in the past, it would’ve been orange. Personally, I never saw it as very wearable and for me, it always seemed to give an unnecessary nod to Halloween. That said, and to my surprise, I stumbled across a few pieces that peaked my interest and I couldn’t resist at least giving them a try! At this point we all know my infatuation with suits and co-ords is at an all time high so when I saw this tangerine number I decided to see if I could make it work. Outside of the striking hue, I was really drawn to the gorgeous tailoring of the blazer and split hem mini skirt which is right up my alley! Upon receiving the garments, I instantly fell in love with the fit and knew I had made the right choice. While I would usually try to offset the saturation with something more toned down, this time, I chose to take a risk and layered with an indigo halter style bralette. I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m the best with color-blocking but this combination was one that I immediately adored! From this point, I began to get a bit stumped when it came to the accessories. I knew incorporating anything black would be entirely too harsh and for some reason my neutral items just weren’t cutting it. After giving it some more thought, I remembered that I had also purchased a beaded bag when I placed my initial order. As soon as I picked up the tomato-colored option I was extremely uncomfortable. Wearing this much color at once was definitely not something I was used to, nor did I think I could pull it off. However, after realizing I also had a pair of mules that were nearly a perfect match, I took a deep breath and committed to the statement making ensemble! I never would’ve guessed I’d style an outfit this bold but I quickly embraced it and it didn’t take long before I felt like myself again. To finish off the look, I threw on some gold jewelry and aviator frames which provided a subtle cool edge. I get so much enjoyment from experimenting with fashion and finding new ways to showcase my style. At the end of the day, if all else fails, you can just as easily take it off and try again! Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

For my third look in collaboration with the Eggie brand, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone. While I am no stranger to co-ords, the vibrant color of this suit alone was a bit of a risk for me. That being said, I was really drawn to the over-sized fit and construction of the jacket, so I was willing to give it a try. Upon receiving these items, I was honestly still slightly intimidated as this may be the brightest look I’ve ever styled. The beauty of separates of any kind is that you instantly have 90% of your ensemble completed, and since this suit was the obvious focus, I didn’t think much more needed to be added to pull it all together. I decided to play off of the white buttons by adding my round frames instead of a white shoe. Though the latter may have been the go-to for some, I didn’t want to be too “matchy” or have something that stark at the bottom of the look that would compete for attention. For a more subtle approach, I decided to throw on a pair of silver, minimal strappy heeled sandals, and my geometric earrings for metallic cohesiveness. My favorite part of this outfit would have to be the extra flap detail that wrapped around and buttoned at the front of the suit jacket. I have never seen a garment with this type of design off the runway, and it truly made me appreciate the creativity and attention to tailoring that went into making this piece. I think it’s important to push boundaries when it comes to anything in life (creatively or not) because while it may feel uncomfortable, it will only help to uncover your full potential. Until next time!

It’s now March and though time seems to be flying, I couldn’t be more excited that Spring is right around the corner. In honor of the upcoming season, I decided to round up a few trends that I think we’ll be seeing quite a bit of this year. While slip dresses seemed to be the catalyst for the satin trend and are still wildly popular, skirts as well as blouses are easily rivaling the frocks, and I don’t think we’ll be seeing silky fabrics disappearing any time soon! With bold saturated color seeming to be a trend in itself, its no surprise that it’s made it’s way to workwear. Bright colored suits and co-ords are definitely something I personally look forward to seeing more of this year and I’m sure my collection will grow because of it! An unexpected shade that has really made it’s mark on the runway and on fashionistas everywhere has been “pistachio.” I personally don’t own many items in the green family, but this particular hue is so versatile whether paired with neutral earth tones or bold prints, I’m definitely intrigued and excited to give it a try. Lastly, a trend that sparked earlier in the Winter season and I think will continue to flourish is boiler suits. It’s an easy all-in-one outfit and with the right accessories can easily be elevated or worn casually to perfection. Let me know in the comments which trend is your favorite or if there’s one you’ve seen that I did not mention. Until next time!

It’s so fascinating to me how often trends evolve and circulate throughout the years in different ways. In the past, I never would’ve reached for a neon piece especially outside of the Summer months. Lately however, I’ve been feeling experimental and gravitating towards vibrant colors more than ever! Check out some of the neon garments I’ve rounded up below and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Until next time!

I feel like this season more than ever, I’ve been really open to trying out different trends. It just seems like a lot of the popular statement making pieces thus far have been right up my alley, and it’s been very easy to incorporate them into my current wardrobe. Honestly, every item in this look can be classified as “on-trend,” so let’s just start from the top and work our way down, shall we? Vibrant colors were HUGE this fashion month, so much so that even neon made a come back! Designer brands like Prada incorporated a variety of these shades into their recent designs, with green seeming to lead the pack. For me personally, I like to find pieces that fit the mold without being so trend specific that they can’t be worn once they’re no longer “in style.” Because I’m not the biggest fan of neon, I opted for a chartreuse turtleneck that was just as bold and eye-catching. To compliment this minimal top, I chose a textured snake print mini skirt that served as the perfect neutral. While that statement may be hard to believe, there’s not much that animal prints can’t be paired with as they all usually tend to incorporate shades of black, brown, & occasionally grey. To finish up the look I chose to add stark white accessories instead of my usual darker pieces. (FUN FACT: I bought this clutch in college and it’s made an appearance on my website every year since I’ve started blogging.) With the colder months slowly approaching, I love the idea of including lighter colored items into my Fall/Winter ensembles, aside from the typical black boots and bags. These sling-backs were so interesting to me and the round wooden heel really helped to pull the warm tones out of the skirt and balance the look. To play off of the silver hardware, I threw on my favorite pair of geometric earrings and a pair of clear frames for an extra cool factor. This was definitely one of my more fun looks that really just made me…happy! The vibrancy truly uplifted my mood and made me feel like risk-taking rockstar that could conquer the fashion world– slightly extreme, but you get the point, lol. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried, or are interested in trying any of the trends discussed and list your favorite. Until next time!

With the temperatures in the northeast finally starting to consistently feel like Spring, I thought it was only right that I take advantage of the warmth and sunshine and break out a few new pieces I’ve recently purchased. It’s no secret that the ruffle trend is literally EVERYWHERE and not going away any time soon. Retailers and designers have done an amazing job creating pieces that can suit the style of the more subtle fashionista, to the most dramatic. Since I find myself to be somewhere in the middle,  I gravitated towards this flowy blouse with layered, ruffle sleeves. While this piece came in many different variations, from button-up options to even A-line dresses, the movement and simplicity of this top had me sold. The great thing about white tops is that they can go with just about anything; the downside however is that it leaves you with endless options when trying to style an outfit. After a few weeks of pondering, I came across this beautiful cream colored, woven skirt and fell in love! This piece incorporates so many of my favorite details, from the length, to the laced up drawstring, and raw unfinished hem; I just couldn’t resist! Because I wanted to tailor this look to our current season and not go too Summer-y, I decided to style it with ankle boots instead of any open-toed footwear. I loved how the brown tortoise heel added some warmth to the ensemble while still contrasting nicely with the lighter tones. To complete this look, I threw on a hot pink cross-body bag for a fun pop of color and was ready to roll! I was actually pretty shocked by my interest in this bag as I’m usually not the “pink,” type of girl. That said, it’s always nice to step outside of your comfort zone every now and then and try something new; you might be surprised. Until next time!
