A new beginning. A fresh start. Regardless of how you choose to view it, we’ve been given another opportunity to make the most of the time we have on this planet. Despite what you failed to accomplish or what has yet to happen, the first of the year represents an overall reset as well as a chance to write a new chapter in this book called “life.” I chose to enter 2024 with a mindset of peace and gratitude from the comfort of my own home. With everything going on in the world, I wasn’t feeling very celebratory and like many, I felt reluctant going out when I still have so much work to do to get to where I ultimately want to be. That said, as a fashion and style content creator the festive looks still had to be captured! Had I gone out, I would’ve most likely pulled from my closet (surprising I know) and kept the overall vibe comfortable yet chic. The last time I wore this white feather-trimmed blazer was during my first trip to Paris in 2022, and it has always remained a special piece in my wardrobe. Thanks to one of my brand partners, I was also kindly gifted these sequin trousers which seemed like the most fitting garment for the occasion. Because I was working with two rather bold items, I wanted to keep my accessories fairly minimal with a metallic heeled sandal and my usual jewelry; though I did spice it up with a rhinestone and pearl necklace, which perfectly accentuated the plunging neckline. I wanted to keep this post short and sweet, but as far as the new year goes, the theme is: temporary sacrifice, for long-term success. Of course I still plan to sprinkle in some fun along the way, but I really want to push myself to focus on the things I can control while putting in the work to create the life I deserve. Comment below if this resonates with you and how you’re planning to walk into day 1 of 365. We got this!

Anyone who is even remotely into fashion, or shopping for that matter, knows that most designers are usually at least one season ahead when it comes to production. This means, that although it may still be hot outside, you will begin to see heavier pieces like knits and jackets slowly being integrated onto retailer’s websites and in stores. By this time of year, I am absolutely anticipating the Fall season and strategically buying garments that I know for a fact can be styled during the cooler months. (PRO-TIP: Start looking for key staples like leather jackets, trench coats, knitwear, etc. now because by the time you need them they’ll be sold out and/or severely marked up in price!) Being a style blogger, I am usually in the know about a lot of things regarding upcoming trends and fashion forecasts. That being said, one of my favorite things has to be learning from other creators in this space especially when it comes to new brands that I’ve never heard of or are based outside of the U.S. regions. My slip dress collection has definitely grown over the years, but this particular frock may be my favorite one to date. Aside from the rich color and smooth metallic-like finish, the double-lined fabric and seamless fit were an absolute dream! I’ve always considered these dress styles more on the casual side, but this one changed my perspective entirely and proved that they can be worn even in more formal settings. In efforts to keep it as the focal point of the ensemble, I chose an understated and slightly monochrome color palette to complete the outfit. I opted to layer with a neutral beige blazer, and contrast with a textured black handbag and mules. On this rare occasion, I chose to forego sunglasses but stuck to my usual gold jewelry as a final touch. This ensemble definitely gave me all of the autumnal feels and dare I say, ready for Summer to come to an end??? Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Now that Summer is officially here, the color trends are as bright as ever and I can honestly say it has forced me to step outside of my comfort zone even more! There aren’t many shades I completely dislike but if I had to pick one, at least in the past, it would’ve been orange. Personally, I never saw it as very wearable and for me, it always seemed to give an unnecessary nod to Halloween. That said, and to my surprise, I stumbled across a few pieces that peaked my interest and I couldn’t resist at least giving them a try! At this point we all know my infatuation with suits and co-ords is at an all time high so when I saw this tangerine number I decided to see if I could make it work. Outside of the striking hue, I was really drawn to the gorgeous tailoring of the blazer and split hem mini skirt which is right up my alley! Upon receiving the garments, I instantly fell in love with the fit and knew I had made the right choice. While I would usually try to offset the saturation with something more toned down, this time, I chose to take a risk and layered with an indigo halter style bralette. I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m the best with color-blocking but this combination was one that I immediately adored! From this point, I began to get a bit stumped when it came to the accessories. I knew incorporating anything black would be entirely too harsh and for some reason my neutral items just weren’t cutting it. After giving it some more thought, I remembered that I had also purchased a beaded bag when I placed my initial order. As soon as I picked up the tomato-colored option I was extremely uncomfortable. Wearing this much color at once was definitely not something I was used to, nor did I think I could pull it off. However, after realizing I also had a pair of mules that were nearly a perfect match, I took a deep breath and committed to the statement making ensemble! I never would’ve guessed I’d style an outfit this bold but I quickly embraced it and it didn’t take long before I felt like myself again. To finish off the look, I threw on some gold jewelry and aviator frames which provided a subtle cool edge. I get so much enjoyment from experimenting with fashion and finding new ways to showcase my style. At the end of the day, if all else fails, you can just as easily take it off and try again! If I had to choose, blazers would definitely be in my top 5 Fall essentials. They are the perfect light layer to instantly elevate and add structure to the most basic ensemble with minimal effort. I also love the variations of style, texture, and fit which each bring a different vibe. In my personal wardrobe I like to maintain a balance of tailored and oversized options, but I’ve also begun to gravitate towards dresses as well. The blazer dress is the perfect hybrid of formal and casual. Regardless of the setting, you can easily style these pieces with a plethora of accessories that will take your look from day to night. For this particular shoot, I was eager to wear this pale yellow frock in a wrap style. From the moment I saw it, I knew it would be a great closet addition due to it’s functionality and adaptability. Whether going to a business meeting, brunch, or running errands around the city, I am truly prepared for anything in this outfit! That being said, I chose to pair it down with a classic pair of white sneakers to really heighten the contrast and give more of a “street-style” edge. To further play into this juxtaposition, I still wanted to keep my jewelry dainty and therefore added a few gold pieces as well as a necklace featuring some pearl accents. Finally, to complete the look, I threw on an oversized pair of tortoise sunnies and was on my way! Despite not wearing heels, I still felt like a total BOSS in this ensemble and will continue to challenge the stereotype of what it means to look “professional” through clothing. Despite the temperatures steadily rising, there has been no shortage of knit garments rolling out from various designers and retailers. I’ve often given thought as to why this could be considering we usually associate this textile with the colder months. That being said, I personally am a fan of the subtle texture and structure that knitwear provides; especially during a time where most people are wearing more common lightweight fabrics such as chiffon, linen, and chambray. When I initially saw this salmon colored co-ord, I was intrigued by the hue but highly skeptical of the fit. Needless to say, I proceeded to place my order and simply hoped for the best. To my surprise the thin and rather clingy fabric was of good quality, and the pieces were extremely comfortable (not overly constricting in any way). This bright shade of coral made the ensemble perfect for the current season and while I was fairly confident wearing it as is, I decided to layer an oversized blazer on top for added elevation and chicness. For shoes, I almost went with something neutral but at the last minute decided to color-block with lime green mules, which created more of a “watermelon-like” palette. To balance the brighter tones and tie in my muted outerwear piece, I added an iridescent pair of sunnies and chandelier earrings featuring pearl accents. Overall, this outfit is more on the preppy side of what I’m used to and definitely had me considering taking up golfing (LOL!). Jokes aside, I’m excited to wear this look out and about and potentially add similar polo-style sets to my wardrobe collection. As Spring approaches, there always seems to be an excitement that comes along with this time of year. Warmer temperatures, outdoor activities, and cleansing my personal space to make way for new positive energy, are just a few of the things I look forward to most. In addition to that, I’d be lying if I said refreshing my wardrobe wasn’t also at the top of the list! While I don’t buy into every trend, I love to see which ones are making a statement and resurfacing as the year progresses. Though I wouldn’t say it’s “new,” I definitely think we’ll be seeing an abundance of color in 2021. Aside from the fact that bolder, brighter shades can be seen as an energy/mood boosters, I think that just about everyone is ready to step out of their comfort zone and experiment with fashion after being confined to loungewear for over a year. Personally, I’ve already noticed shades of yellow seeping into my closet more than even before; and I’m not mad at it! While browsing some of my favorite online retailers, I stumbled across this wool sweater dress and was instantly drawn to it. Often we associate these type of frocks with the Fall/Winter seasons and are used to seeing them worn in darker or more neutral hues. Needless to say, I decided to give it a try and couldn’t be happier with my choice! Being a lover of pastels, this eye-catching piece was definitely a seamless fit for my style, not to mention how flattering the silhouette was overall. For an element of contrast, I chose to layer the dress with a plaid blazer featuring a variety of cool grey tones. I also added a pair of brown knee-high boots and matching sunglasses in efforts to warm up the color palette, which in my opinion really helped balance the ensemble. I opted to keep my jewelry dainty yet striking with layered gold necklaces and a couple chunky rings. This outfit definitely exceeded my expectations and has me ready to step into the next few months more daring and playful especially when it comes to my styling choices. As the Winter season lingers on it has become increasingly difficult to find outdoor locations to shoot where I don’t run the risk of being absolutely freezing. What makes this task even harder, is that I’m slowly introducing more Spring appropriate items and I’m running out of coats to style them with! After some serious contemplation, shooting underground seemed like the perfect loophole to avoid the harsh temperatures and peel back some of the layers that would otherwise completely cover my outfit. Lately, I’ve really been taking account of the basics that seemed to be missing from my wardrobe. For Christmas I purchased a black coat as a gift to myself, and just recently I ordered my first black blazer. I’ve been looking at this hourglass style for over a year, and finally decided to pull the trigger! What initially intrigued me about this piece was that it seemed to be the perfect balance of classic and modern. It’s no secret that blazers are a timeless outerwear staple, but the shape and structure truly make it a standout item regardless of what it is styled with. In the midst of refreshing my closet with some newness, I also bought a gorgeous blouse that I thought would make the perfect statement as we move into warmer temperatures. However, since we’re not quite there, I decided to pair this printed top with some wide-legged faux leather trousers. I absolutely loved this combination because I feel like the overall ensemble displayed complimentary, yet distinct, masculine and feminine elements. To complete the look and incorporate more colors from my shirt, I added a bright yellow satin mule to further accentuate the juxtaposition of dainty and more tailored garments. After reaching for a few pieces of gold jewelry and my aviator frames to accessorize, I was feeling like the ultimate girl boss! Comment below your favorite featured item and until next time!

Finding beauty in the midst of chaos can sometimes feel like an impossible task, but that is exactly what the holidays represent for me this season. Though it would be extremely easy to sit back and dwell on the negative, times like this give us the opportunity to focus on all that we have instead of the hardships that have caused great loss. Personally, I am choosing to end this year on a positive note and I feel incredibly blessed to still have my family, health, and a place to call home. Like most people, I love seeing all of the beautiful decorations and festive inspired décor. That aside, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t prefer more modern takes rather than just the traditional red and green color scheme. When my photographer and I stumbled across this storefront, I knew it was the perfect backdrop to compliment my look! The lush shrubbery and blush tones could not have been a better accent to this neutral Winter ensemble. Sweater dresses are an absolute staple during the colder months and I had seen this one floating around social media on more than one occasion. To my surprise when curating a list of seasonal wardrobe essentials, I noticed it was back in stock and jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. Despite going outside less than ever before, I have also been getting tons of wear out of these cream, knee-high boots this year. I’ve had them going on three years now and am pleased to say that they have held up like a dream! To tie these pieces together, I threw on my newest scarf which I was certain I’d get my cost per wear out of from the moment I saw it online. The versatility alone and dual print, which allows me to wear it on either side, makes it a suitable accessory for almost any ensemble. Finally, to complete this outfit, I threw on my favorite blazer for optimal warmth and a pair of statement gold earrings with peal accents. I could easily see myself wearing this look for a casual, intimate holiday gathering with friends and/or family featuring games, movies, and delicious treats! From the time I truly began investing in my wardrobe, my consistent goal was to eventually have a collection of pieces that were quality, timeless, and interchangeable. That being said, when I was contacted to try a few pieces from the new brand “Free Assembly,” available at Walmart, I jumped at the opportunity! After doing some research and reading up on the message behind the collection, I was thrilled to see that a lot of our values aligned. Not only were the garments on trend and affordable, they were size inclusive and full of classic silhouettes that can be worn for years to come. I was also very much sold on the color palettes that ranged from warm neutrals to understated florals and plaid motifs. When deciding on the look I would style, I wanted something that was of course chic, but also Fall appropriate. As soon as I saw the corduroy skirt sets my mind was made up, and though I almost took the plunge, I decided to continue looking and see what else I could find. Just as the line insists, these pieces were created to “mix, layer, and assemble freely.” This statement absolutely held true as I stumbled across a black, white, and slate grey plaid blazer. Though this may have been an odd pairing for some, I was confident that with a monochrome base I could absolutely pull off this ensemble. With the blazer and skirt in tow, I completed the outfit with the softest navy blue turtleneck and a pair of knee-high boots which beautifully tied everything together. As a final touch, I added a pair of statement earrings and was all set feeling confident in my “Clueless-inspired”, autumnal getup.
