When it comes to fashion, there are two things I’ve found myself being consistently drawn to as we approach the Summer season: black garments and chunky gold accents! Not sure if this comes as a surprise, but it’s a pattern I’ve noticed and am fully embracing all 2023. Living in and around New York City my entire life, it’s no secret that black will forever be known as a “year-round” color. Despite it’s reputation for absorbing too much heat, it seems like the coolest people are the ones that can pull it off effortlessly no matter what the weather conditions are…pun intended. Personally, I also find that when I come across a piece that is a bit outside of my comfort zone, wearing it in this shade always seems more manageable and familiar; and this voluminous frock was no exception. When I initially spotted this dress, I saw it in a floral motif that while pretty, didn’t really feel like “me” and was way too girly for my liking. Luckily, to my benefit, it also came in another option and I was quick to make it mine! I absolutely loved the juxtaposition of the ultra-feminine design and the stark opaqueness of the gown which brought out an unexpected edginess that I thoroughly enjoyed! At this point, all there was left to do was accessorize and I had some exciting new wardrobe additions in mind! In efforts to mirror the lace up back detail, I grabbed these amazing sandals featuring a bold chain-link heel. To further play up the gold hardware and add another element of interest, I decided to include this lime colored bag which helped to capture the brightness of the season in a fun, yet subtle way. After adding my jewelry and a sleek pair of sunnies, I was feeling confidently chic and ready for whatever the day had in store. On what felt like the hottest day of the year thus far, I shot this look and though I was sweating throughout the entire process, it was definitely worth it in the end! I personally have a love/hate relationship with styling during the Summer months. At a certain point, even the simplest outfits become too hot and basking in the AC from the comfort of your own home seems like the best option. That being said, life is for the living and on days when I do have plans, I’ve learned to embrace the “less is more” approach. On these sweltering days, I like to stick to one focal piece (jumpsuit, dress, romper, etc.) that will serve as the foundation for the entire look. As my slip dress collection continues to expand, I couldn’t resist highlighting this gorgeous seafoam frock I recently purchased. Aside from the color, what caught my attention most was the halter style which provided the most flattering backless detail. I pride myself on cultivating a versatile wardrobe that consists of pieces that can adapt to a variety of settings and this dress absolutely fits the bill! Whether paired with flat slides at a backyard barbeque or strappy heeled sandals at a wedding, this garment can easily take you from day to night! For accessories, I wanted to keep it classic yet bold, so adding touches of black with my bag, shoes, earrings, and sunglasses allowed for the perfect subtle contrast. All in all, this is an ensemble I look forward to recreating as the season progresses, and as we move into the cooler months (with the addition of a few layers of course, lol). There are certain outfits that require hi-res documentation and for me, this was one of them. I unfortunately did not have the chance to get any decent pictures while wearing it on my most recent vacation, but luckily I waited because the show-stopping accessory I didn’t know I needed hadn’t arrived yet. I’ve been extremely grateful for all of the collaborations I’ve been able to do thus far in 2021, and this particular one was no less exciting! Having the opportunity to partner with the iconic https://www.dooney.com/ brand was such a pleasure, as they have been known to produce some of the finest leather goods for decades. I already knew the quality would be amazing, and was not disappointed in the slightest when I received the three (yes, THREE!) handbags. Though I loved them all for different reasons, based on the season we’re currently in, I knew I had style the monogram option immediately. Luckily, I already had the perfect look planned! As soon as I saw the yellow lettering and camel brown accents, I knew this was the missing piece to an already chic styling (if I do say so myself). I did find it slightly challenging at first because I typically incorporate black items when grounding my outfits with more neutral elements. To my pleasant surprise, everything turned out great and the ensemble came together seamlessly. In efforts to match the hardware on the bag, I incorporated gold tear drop earrings and as a final touch and completed the look with my tan mules. When it comes to deciding on brands to collaborate with, my process is fairly simple. I tend to ask myself the same 2 questions: “do I have a history with this company?” and, “does this brand have a product that I would actually wear/use in real life?” If everything checks out, it’s usually full steam ahead. After being contacted by the Jeff Wan team, which I was already familiar with, I quickly jumped at the opportunity! Aside from the unique take on accessories with the iconic “lunch box” shape, the quality and craftsmanship is truly unmatched. After filling out a quick survey and listing my top 3 selections, I was thrilled to receive the style that was at the top of my list! As soon as I saw it on the website, it instantly became my favorite. When it comes to styling, I love the color blue because although it can be vibrant, it can also pair with so many things in the way that a neutral shade does. In addition to that, I loved the graphic design that adorned this piece truly making it a showstopper from every angle! Coincidentally, I had been scouring the internet in search of the perfect pair of two-tone jeans. I’ve recently mentioned this popular trend and because I am personally a fan, I wanted to make sure I had something in my closet aside from footwear that fit the bill! This could not have been a more perfect match, as the shades of blue in the denim seamlessly highlighted the varying hues on the bag. In efforts to desaturate the look, I chose to incorporate a cream-colored cut out knit and coordinating cowboy boots. Surprisingly, the hardest part was trying to figure out which piece of outerwear I wanted to complete this ensemble. Because we are still in the midst of Winter, I am challenging myself to continue showcasing more practical outfits that can be worn in this very moment. Once I settled on my plush brown teddy coat, I threw on the largest pair of sunglasses I own and was just about done. As a final touch, I added gold abstract hoops to accent the hardware on my bag and was ready to step out in style! I absolutely loved how this look turned out, especially when it came to the balance of warm and cool tones. I know for a fact that this bag will be in heavy rotation especially as we make our way into the Spring and Summer seasons! Comment below your favorite featured piece and until next time!

While I don’t typically feature luxury items, I have always been a fan of quality. Recently, there have been quite a few pieces that have caught my attention which I would absolutely consider saving for. The countdown until Spring has officially begun and while I have no desire to purchase any more “cold weather” pieces, there always seems to be a garment that blurs the lines in the most irresistible way. During transitional seasons, at times it can be difficult getting dressed on a daily basis, as the weather can fluctuate dramatically throughout the day. That said, let’s rewind a bit. About a month ago my Mom came to visit me and during our bonding time it’s natural for us to do a bit of eating and of course, shopping. On this particular day, we managed to stumble into the DVF showroom in the Meatpacking District here in NYC, and there it was. The most amazingly vibrant coat I had ever seen! This wool number featured contrasting satin panels and a chic snap closure; SIDEBAR, it was also way out of my price range! I didn’t leave the store feeling discouraged however, as I knew that I would keep a close eye on it in case it ever went on sale. Long story short it did, and that is how our love affair began, LOL! My point is, while I didn’t necessarily “need” another coat, I was able to find a quality statement piece in a fun color that I could easily wear into the upcoming season while remaining on trend. Initially I figured I would wear this with jeans and keep my look fairly casual, but at the last minute I was able to find a pair of nude leather leggings I had been eyeing for a few weeks. While I was unsure about the color against my skin tone at first, after trying them on, I was sold! To my surprise, I also got lucky and found a pair of mules in almost the exact same color that I was determined to get my hands on in time for Summer, but had recently sold out online. As a bit of a wild card, I threw on a sheer floral top and my cat-eye tortoise sunglasses to coordinate with the other Earth tones. Yet again, I found myself in an ensemble that made me want to hop on the first direct flight to Paris and strut down the concrete runways with a baguette in hand. Comment below if you still find yourself gravitating towards outerwear and sweaters even though we’re moving into warmer temperatures. Until next time!

Recently, I’ve tried to develop a much more conscious outlook when it comes to shopping. Instead of just seeing an item that I think is “cute” and immediately reaching for my wallet, I now give myself time to really decide whether or not this piece can make an impact in my wardrobe. Cost per wear also plays a major factor these days in deciding if I’m going to pull the trigger and leave the store with a particular garment or accessory. Specifically, I am referring to this Marc Jacobs cross-body which I have been eyeing up since before the holidays. Initially I thought I would receive it as a Christmas gift, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it remained on my wish-list a bit longer. While it is not a piece that would necessarily break the bank, it is definitely priced at a point that required an extra level of thought. That aside, this particular bag literally comes in every color combination you can think of! Because of this, I really wanted to make sure that the color-way I chose was different than anything I already owned, but also versatile enough that I could wear it across multiple seasons. Since I already had a few black bags, I knew that I was leaning towards something that was lighter in color, but could also serve as a neutral. After a few more weeks of deliberation, I finally settled on a taupe, cream, and blush option featuring gold accents, along with a strap highlighting neon and silver details. As far as I was concerned this bag literally covered all of the basis! It was trendy, wearable, and chic while still honing in on a few classic elements. I knew this accessory would be the focal point of the look so a black, white, and denim palette seemed like the way to go. While my jeans and lucite heels were already wardrobe staples, I decided to play off of the “business casual” trend and tried styling a classic white button-up shirt; something I haven’t done in quite some time. I loved the over-sized fit, balloon sleeves, and tiny cutouts which really made it unique. Though I wasn’t sure if this would actually suit me, I decided to take a chance and layered a black bralette over the top for an unexpected, Parisian flare. With a final addition of gold jewelry, I was absolutely thrilled with how this look turned out! If I had it my way, I would’ve jumped on the first flight to Milan fashion week; maybe next season! Comment below, your favorite part of this ensemble and if you’re also a more thoughtful shopper when deciding to add new editions to your closet. Until next time!

While mini bags have been a staple trend for more seasons than I can count, the over-sized accessories are slowly making a comeback and I can’t say I’m disappointed. It’s about time fashion goes back to a sense of practicality, and purses that can carry more than just a lipstick and credit card seem like a great place to start! Below I’ve rounded up a few options that have recently caught my eye and are still just as fashionable as the microscopic pieces we’ve grown to love. Comment below whether you prefer the miniature or the massive styles and don’t forget to click the images to shop my picks. Until next time!

With only a few days until 2020, I wanted to round up a few pieces that could easily be added to existing garments in your current wardrobe to spice up any outfit for the night’s festivities. Though it may not be a hindrance, I’ve come to realize that it’s not always necessary to purchase an entirely new outfit for every event that occurs in life. Also, depending on your NYE plans, it may be as simple as adding a few accessories to elevate an already appropriate ensemble to something slightly more celebratory. Hopefully if you’re still unsure of what to wear or don’t have time to order something new, the items below can provide some inspiration! My holiday attire series would not be complete without an appropriate ensemble for the office and/or all other work related functions. As a corporate girl, happy hour invites are a regular part of the culture and during the holiday season it is to be expected on an even larger scale. In the event the occasion calls for something other than an ugly Christmas sweater, I like to be prepared with something chic and subtly festive than can be reused at a later date. I actually saw this pistachio colored leather dress while shopping for an October island vacation, and though I wasn’t sure of what to do with it at the time, I knew I couldn’t just leave it sitting in my cart! As soon as I received it and tried it on, I could instantly tell it would be the perfect garment for any celebratory events; and when the opportunity arose, I was able to test it out first hand at the company party this year. To dress it up but still keep the frock as the focal piece, I used gold and black accents with pieces I already had in my wardrobe. My tights were actually from my 2018 NYE ensemble and the ankle booties, though slightly more casual, still helped to anchor the look in a seamless way with their metallic accents. To punch up the glam even more, I threw on my layered chain necklace and matching teardrop earrings with metallic flecks. Though I couldn’t pick an overall favorite, I truly loved the versatility that each outfit represented. In my opinion, it’s not about being the most obvious with your looks, but capturing the essence of the season in a sophisticated way. Comment below your favorite of the 3 options and if you would wear them to any other holiday parties/gatherings I did not mention. Until next time!
